the cyborg looked the older man up and down. eyes SIZING HIM UP whilst thin arms made their way to cross over his chest. shoulders lowered, dropping their guard. “ i have NO INTEREST in working with you . ” genji spat out bluntly. “ i am not going to work with some shitty old man, へたくそ . find a different partner for your mission . ” even as those words left his lips, he knew there was no one else. all the other talon agents who were fit for the job were already out on missions. anyone left here ( besides the two of them ) were wounded — and the higher ups would be damned if they sent some SHITTY agent on this important mission.

a huff. he can already tell this mission would be hell considering who he’s paired with and, despite what he does know about the cyborg ( he remembers him; hopes that isn’t mutual ) he’s sure something would go wrong. the less time they spend together the better.

a side-effect of the lack of emotion. she was a successful experiment, after all-- some parts of TALON he still couldn’t agree with. ( but was it TALON that brought her to this state? he trusted them; perhaps it was OVERWATCH all along. )

there’s a gun pressed against her head. a soldier keeps it there, steady, ready to shoot at any moment and ready to kill with even the slightest twitch... but, he wouldn’t pull the trigger at something so small. he knew better-- trained better than that. TALON can try and remove his slightest bits of mercy ( funny; that’s the name of who he’s threatening ) but they’ll never manage.

A shiver up his spine, a twitch of muscles in reaction. Red slashed through the darkness of the alley to which Malevolent was walking down, stopping him in his tracks as he begun to wonder what the glow WAS. The stranger would only be greeted by an equally strange sight, a pair of eyes reflecting light in the dark. Akin to a predator toeing the line of pitch black, awaiting when the fire would EXTINGUISH. “ Hello ? “

an injury. an alleyway was a surefire way to safety and escape without a cinch, with plans foiled by who knows what ( he’d rather not linger on that subject ) and TALON probably rolling in a metaphorical grave when he returns with definitive evidence of a loss. everything just smelled terrible-- WAS terrible, and those eyes...
it’s ominous. he’s not in the best condition for a fight with his arm bleeding, but... he’ll protect himself if he has to. hell, he’s got a feeling he’ll definitely have to.

“ WHY ? ——– did you not used to be jack morrison ? did you not used to be the face of overwatch ? ” he asked, voice low. as far as he knew jack morrison had DIED, but now he had been told that it was in fact a lie ( a ploy ; some accidental and others perhaps not so much — jack morrison wasn’t the only ‘confirmed’ dead to have risen from their grave. oh how it reminded him of HIMSELF, did he fit that category ? ). fingers clenched, not yet a fist but exuding something perhaps like disappointment. “ what reasons might you have for joining an organization such as talon ? ”

shallow, barely quiet breathing. his visor was broken ( an easy fix for talon ) and he’s compromised-- a position he couldn’t so easily escape; too many miscalculations and underestimations of the cyborg as he’d entered to get what he needed. he didn’t intend to lose his disguise and he didn’t intend to make himself known. it would’ve been easier to kill when they didn’t realize it. if he was successful, genji would think his killer was just soldier 76 and no one else... not jack morrison.
