I fear if you ship Nikki-Obsession with anyone in any way you have failed the assignment

I only realized now that Bears last name is 'Bailey'. The irony of Nickys last name(Freeman) is pretty obvious, but its not just her last names that's a tad on the nose. iirc the name Bailey was derived of Bailiff at one point. And a 'Bailiff's job, depending on the region, is either an official, responsible for prisoners. Or someone who takes away someone elses possessions for the debt they're owed. It's also another word for a custodian or a warden.

Either way, both of their last names paint a pretty obvious picture together.

People when others say anything about obsession and how bear is in the wrong (don’t give two shits if he was “nice” before he still did horrible stuff) and saying it’s “just women being over dramatic” and bear is the victim has completely missed the point of the movie and that scares me. Just exactly like how everyone treated Nikki in the movie and how people do treat women every single day. It’s not women being over dramatic. And oh “women so obsessed with this movie to make guys out to be the bad guys” or “people glazing it with one take” well no maybe it’s because we as women every single one of us can somewhat relate to this in some way or another. And I said people at the start because I’ve seen men saying this and women saying this. It scares me so much that people even women excuse his behaviour. Yes at the start he wasn’t a bully or a player or whatever you wanna say but that’s not the point. Women are killed, r*ped, taken advantage of, etc every single day because the world tells us it’s ok that if you’re quiet and not aggressively abusing a woman first hand.. you’re not doing anything wrong you’re just an average guy. And yet the women who are loud and expressive and emotional get labeled the crazy and over dramatic ones. No we are not we are sick and tired of women since the beginning of time seen as less then seen as an object seen as whatever men tell us we are. “Oh people now days are too sensitive” no we finally have a voice to speak up on these topics.

And no it’s not some nuance take that bear is actually a good guy or not that bad. Yes he’s not a psychopath murderer that abuses any woman he can or kicks babies or steals charity money. But he did r*pe a woman and if that’s not bad enough for you then that is terrifying. He was fully aware when he r*ped her that she was under the spell of the willow wish. Case closed. It was r*pe. He is bad. R*pe is bad*

Just watched Obsession. I am floored. I cried 8 times. It was amazing. Nearly threw up twice. Don't watch it if you have a weak stomach. I now cherish cats more than I ever did.

10/10, would NOT recommend.

Inde Navarrette's acting in Obsession sets such a high bar that it feels genuinely unfair to every other movie I will ever watch for the rest of my life.

it is terrifying that bear only sought to "alter" his wish rather than cancelling it but what is even more terrifying is that he wouldn't even have called the number had nikki not inconvenienced him. if she did not act in such extreme ways bear wouldn't even have a problem. which is sooooo sooooo terrifying because he was completely fine living and being "loved" by nikki who he knew wasn't the real her. he claimed to love her, but even when she started acting like a totally different person it was water off a duck's back for him. he DIDN'T CARE whether it was the real nikki or an entirely different person.

even when she begs him to kill her, he does not feel even a shred of pity for her; he only worries "is being with me that bad".

the only reason he tries to change anything is because her behavior started to scare him FREAK him out. had she acted in a meeker way, bear would've lived with her HIS WHOLE LIFE knowing she ISN'T the real nikki NOT GIVING A FUCK about what she would've wanted. PERIOD.

the more i sit with it the more i realise that the title of the movie did not refer to nikki's obsession with bear but rather his obsession with her. because i know fs that what he felt for her definitely wasn't love.

this is a moment in the original script that I wish they'd kept in the final version of obsession. the absolute disgusting way that real nikki appearing just becomes routine for bear and he completely ignores her in order to keep her. it's so horrifying the way her torment turns into something he hardly acknowledges

something that is left out a lot in discussion of the themes and such of deltarune is tobys real life disability. consider why a disabled person may be telling a story about a complex relationship and desire for freedom

pls be careful with the redbulls for your own health! I knew a security guard at my old middle school that drank redbulls all the time and everyday and i think she had to stop bc it was giving her a heart condition :P
