Of all the memes in all the videos I’ve made, this one memes best.
Discussing timeline issues in book three. Don’t worry, we’ve got all the important things figured out.
Thank you @geekwiththeglasses for the great suggestion!
That’s why we love antiheroes—it’s not that we love to hate them; we love to hate villains. With antiheroes, it’s that we love the release of seeing them act out what’s inside us all.
E. Lockhart on Genuine Fraud (via bookish)
My co-author is the purest person ever. When it comes to words that can be innocent at face value, she never seems to know the more, erm, risque side. This means she uses them freely. It’s both hilarious and adorable.
Proof:
I had to explain that “swinger” isn’t just a term for people who are fun, flirty, and on trend. I discovered this when she casually referred to our hero in book two as a swinger.
My favorite, though, was when she thought that escorts were people you hired to go to dinner with you. Just dinner. She was genuinely shocked when I told her what people were more likely to think of.
I love her.
I’M ALIIIVE!
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been around. Well, aside from popping in to serial-like Starship Promise posts. I have a problem.
So, I figured it was about time for an update!
I semi-recently wrapped up Season 1 of Antares Fairchild for Lovestruck’s Starship Promise. If you haven’t seen the announcement via their Twitter yet, I’m happy to say that he’ll be getting a season two in November! I’m also currently wrapping up Season 3 of my favorite secret softy, Jaxon Silva. :)
In non-Lovestruck news, I’ve been co-authoring a Paranormal Romance series under the pen name Moira Byrne. We’ve had an amazing response from our beta readers and editor so far, so we’re excited (and I’m very, very nauseous) for our first release on October 24th.
Shameless plug: You can pre-order The Shifter’s Future Mate on Amazon right now for the low price of 99 cents.
Thanks for reading and keep on doing you, my fellow awkward people making their way through the world. I’ll try to not disappear into my work again, but—let’s be real, I’m lying. Monday is going to roll around and I’ll be gone. I’m hopeless. Don’t send help.
I’ll just leave this here.

On the subject of shitty romance novels:
I attempted to make a terribly cliched romance novel once because I thought that it would make a lot of money to pander to a particular audience and do you want to know what I found from that experiment?
I liked writing it.
Oh my gods.
Once I put myself to work, once I had the characters and the plot developed, once I took a step back and found where I could put my own cleverness into it- I fucking loved it!
Like, I was looking at it from the standpoint of ‘anyone can write a love story. Yeah, anyone can- but why would you do something if you didn’t enjoy it?
And some people really enjoy cookie-cutter romance novels and some people enjoy erotica about time-traveling vikings and some people enjoy fluffy romance novels that make them feel good.
I once knew an author who wrote romance novels because he thought it would make him money. He was shocked, shocked, to find that he wasn’t an immediate best-seller.
People can tell if your heart’s not in it. It is plain on the paper that you did not enjoy one second of the creative process of this piece. Romance presents all the same challenges as any other creative piece and if you’re going in with the attitude that it ain’t, you’re gonna make a shitty novel.
