Chris Carter school of writing - waste 57 minutes with car chases, heads exploding and lots of running in probably the last episode of the show, 3 minutes spent on three main character deaths, a pregnancy and a fake death.

Ok, if that’s the last of the X-Files I actually don’t hate that ending. The rest of the episode, a waste of time but the very end I can live with thinking they get another chance and live happily ever after with their kid and William gets to have a life because everyone thinks he’s dead. At least the Magicians is on next, now there’s a show with some good writing. If anyone’s looking for a show now that X-Files is over, it’s really good.

Great, so in more great writing from this show we never find out exactly what Reyes was doing or why and now we never will. No time for that, we have buildings to endlessly run through!

What the hell is wrong with this kid?

Seriously, it will be fun if I cheat on my girlfriend and then scare them to death. I think I’ll also scare this truck driver to death while we’re on the highway going 60 or 70 miles an hour so maybe we’ll crash and I can kill him or myself.

Any parent that would let their kids watch a character like that on TV, let alone carry around a doll of him should have child services called on them.

The more I think about this the less sense it makes.

First I’ll say I didn’t hate the episode but the more I think about it the plot holes get bigger. I’ve already written a post about William’s total lack of emotions about his parents murdered in front of him, having two girlfriends in the first place and messing with them like that with seeing a monster and meeting his real mother and again just being like you seem nice and that’s it. Another thing though is what was the whole point here with William giving Scully visions? Does he think it’s amusing like what he did to his girlfriends? Scully said he wants them to find him. She said it in this episode and the first episode like it’s important they find him. Ok, so you finally did find him and...? He wanted you to find him so he could disguise himself as an old Asian guy instead of actually talking to you and then after all that just leaves, like nice meeting you even though I just got my adoptive parents killed and almost killed my two girlfriends, but gotta run now? Why was it so important to find him that he gave Scully visions if he didn’t even want to talk to her?

Running from the DOD guys also made no sense. He could disguise himself as a nurse or the Asian guy to get away from Mulder and Scully but couldn’t disguise himself from those guys to get out of the building?

Does William have absolutely any feelings?

Sorry, I know a lot of people are concentrating on Mulder and Scully’s reactions but what is wrong with this kid? The only parents he’s ever known were just murdered and he doesn’t shed a tear or even care one bit. Then he has two girlfriends and doesn’t seem to care about how he’s hurt either one, just going from one to the other in the hospital like they’re interchangeable. He finally meets his real mother and again it seems to barely register and all he has to say is you seem like a nice person?

OMG, not one but two of my all time favorite shows destroyed the same day!

First I’ll say I haven’t seen all of the Blacklist yet because I was watching the X-Files but I had a suspicion Liz would give Agnes to Scotty not Red. I turned it on during commercials so I did see that part. The only reason they brought a kid on the show was to keep their little pet favorite around, Tom! Let’s face it without Agnes he really had no place on this show so now that they’ve gotten rid of him, we have to get rid of the kid, like just about everyone has said since the pregnancy reveal, kids don’t belong on this show. That being said, you made the decision to give Liz a kid, and now that she’s inconvenient you further destroy Liz’s character by not only giving her kid away but giving her to someone who tried to kill her? She’s a good person?? Anyone who saw the spinoff knows that’s not true. I fear for that kid. Of course the way Liz is going it’s debatable if she’s any better than Scotty anyway. And Red, after raising her all this time while she’s in a coma and recovering isn’t even upset? Just kind of goes ok and that’s it?

As if that’s not bad enough another strong woman character was basically destroyed tonight on the X-Files. The creator of the show basically defended medical rape, saying she wasn’t raped because they didn’t have sex. Basically, she was drugged and “scientifically” impregnated by this old creepy guy. It gets worse, he’s the father of the guy she thought was her kids father all these years! Guess what idiot, medical rape is still rape! It’s disgusting!

So for Blacklist fans who thought it was creepy that you’ve been shipping two people who now are father and daughter, yeah it could be worse. Who the hell is writing these shows? This along with the whole sexual harassment thing lately just makes me really question are all men this stupid or clueless or do they just not care at all about women? Sorry this is long and for venting but my two favorite shows and two strong female characters have been basically destroyed by male writers and I’m pretty angry right now.

Where is Agnes?

I know people are assuming Red’s been raising her and will have her while Liz goes away but the fact that Toms mother is in this episode concerns me. If she gives Agnes to Scotty instead of Red I may really be done with this show. They finally got rid of Tom and this may be a way to get rid of the kid since everyone pretty much thinks a kid on this show was a mistake but I don’t think they should do it this way. I wonder if Scotty fought her for custody and won. That would make more sense. I have no idea why she’d give her up willingly amp Red couldn’t have fought for her since he’s a wanted criminal.

I don’t think those are the real Raymond Reddington’s bones

Something the guy holding Tom hostage struck me, he said when he thinks of all the people who would be interested in what’s in the case and the unspeakable things they’d do to get it. It can’t be the “real” Red in there or even Katerina. Who would care about them? Reddington has lost everything, he’s basically a small time criminal now. Even when he was a major criminal, what difference does it make to the world if his name is really Raymond Reddington or not and why would people do unspeakable things for that information? If there was a different Red at one time, again who would care? He was just some intelligence officer in the Navy who’s been dead for many years now so what difference does it make? Katerina, yes she was supposedly a great spy but she’s presumed to be dead already anyway so what would her bones matter to anyone? So I don’t think it’s her either. It has to be bigger then either of them. Someone maybe the Russians replaced, someone important that if it got out this person is a fake and really dead it would be a major scandal.

I’m not really bothered by that final scene

I know some people are probably angry right now about Liz and Tom but I’m actually happy because I’m convinced now that he will die. All that lovey dovey crap from the other episode and now this, it’s too much which means I think there’s a reason they’re overdoing it with the Keen2 crap and I think it’s because it’s going to end soon.They don’t do happy on this show, Bokenkamp said himself no one wants to see them playing house so what else are they going to do with his character? He can’t really be a spy anymore, they can’t have a separate spy story going every week and they can’t have them keep playing house because that’s boring, so yes I’m pretty sure he’s going to finally die.

Ihope that wasn’t foreshadowing this week about Agnes. Liz was identifying with that women and we find out her kids are dead because of their father. I also noticed in the flash forward when Red walks in he steps on one of Agnes’s toys. I thought when I saw it that maybe that was a clue that maybe something happens to Agnes and that’s why Red finally kills Tom. I know some people think he’s not shooting Tom and is shooting whoever kills Tom but I also remember the behind the scenes where Liz has a bloody nose. If something happens to her and Agnes because of Tom, Red will kill him and Liz will be ok with it.

Liz never said where she got the DNA

I know some people want to believe the imposter theory and that Red isn't her father but it occurred to me she never said, by the way Harold had this old shirt of yours with blood on it. She just hands him the test. If he wasn't her father he would have been more shocked and wouldn't he have asked where she got the sample from? This doesn't disprove the imposter theory, he can still not be the real Raymond Reddington but still be her father. He could gave replaced the real Reddington before she was born and had an affair with Katerina. In fact one of the producers tweeted back during the first episode that Red visited Dom that Dom came from one of the towns in Russia where spies live as Americans. They practice being Americans so even though they're in Russia they live like they're in an American town. So Dom was a spy like his daughter. Redemption also had an episode that took place in one of these towns, I don't think that was an accident. I think this Red was also at the same town as Dom and maybe even lived with him and that's why he knows him so well. I think Carla was his pretend wife and Jennifer is not his real daughter.

Is the writing this bad?

Is there something else going on or is the writing really this bad? Just the episode before Red says one of his biggest regrets is having some psychos kidnap someone and them killing the guy despite his instructions so the very next episode he does the same thing to Liz who he's supposed to love? It doesn't matter if you think it's romantic or paternal, he has shown he loves her but he trusts her with a sadistic serial killer who likes to inflict pain? After what happened the last time he did that and got the person killed? I mean what?? He also just didn't seem very concerned about her this episode. When he sees her he doesn't bother to ask if she's ok or apologize or anything. It's not like the writers haven't forgotten what was said in previous episodes before but come on, it was just the previous episode where he launched into this whole story of how much he regretted it! And to put Liz in harms way like that, I don't get it.

Why didn't they make this spinoff?

They should have made the spinoff about Kate. I really liked Annie and we only knew her for like five minutes. How great was the casting for Kate and Annie by the way. Instead we get a spinoff for a character most people don't care about and a lot of people downright hate. I didn't miss Tom in the slightest in either episode. The show apparently has to have one abusive relationship at all times though. To make up for Tom not being there now Aram is dating the person who tried to kill him.

Help me protect the girl we love

Between this statement and Katerina saying Raymond thought Liz was his daughter and she may be because Katerina doesn't know if he is or not it's pretty obvious he loves Liz like a daughter. Even if she's not at this point he thought she was for years. I know some think he's not the real Raymond Reddington. I've thought this too actually but the thing is even if he's not, the Red we know now is still the one who was sleeping with her mother and still the one who thought he was Liz's father. I mean think about it, if hey did have a Russian spy take over the real Raymond Reddington's identity they would have done it while he was still in Navy intelligence. But if they did that why would they have to have Katrina use him as a mark? I mean if he's already a spy they don't need another spy to seduce him. Even if they had, it's the Red who has already become a criminal and so is already the Red we know who makes this statement about protecting the girl the love so he does love her and obviously it's a fatherly love. He basically gave up his life and became a criminal to protect her in the future. I mean who would do that unless he considered her his daughter, biological or not?
