possible decision making process behind putting a ‘Jesus is the reason for the season’ bumper sticker on one’s car:
1. spy the bumper sticker rack at the local drugstore and have a bit of a chuckle
2. walk about looking for tampons and such but have a nagging feeling that there is something more important that you must tend to now
3. realize the nagging feeling is that you real feel strongly that jesus IS the reason and...you need people to know where you stand
4. forget the entire reason why you are at the drugstore because your mind has been overtaken by the grandiose visions of placing that bumper sticker on your car proudly
5. purchase the bumper sticker, agonize over placement, and then start to rationalize ‘well, what happens when it isn’t the season? God should be given credit for all seasons but Jesus...he is all about THE season and it says ‘the season’. i think people will get it. i’m doin’ it...for jesus.’
6. slap the sticker right on the paint right below your minivan’s back windshield
7. drive away in a fit of glory with your new pronouncement and reminder to the world 365 days out of the year that jesus is the gd reason for the season!
....and then it hits you...goddamnit i forgot the tampons
