Landscape Video Artworks for Hyundai Motorstudio

We made a series of landscape video artworks for three dimensional space. We had been amazing a lot of locations in the planet during a month, Hawaii, California, Utah, Arizona and all area in the Iceland. And also this video has over 27k resolution. We struggled to make this video at the post-production. Hyundai Motorstudio is flagship store of Hyundai Motors.

Long-term Timelapse video for Olafur Eliasson exhibition in Seoul

We made art installation timelapse video for Olafur Eliasson exhibition at Leeum museum, Seoul, South Korea. This time-lapse was worked automatically by four DSLR cameras which was connected to four computers during three weeks. All of photos had been backed up Google Drive and our server every night automatically. We monitored the status of installation and camera by remote screen. These computing environments are able to reduce manual work by human.

Video Wall for Korean Restaurant

Beyond Food 2015 Multi channel video wall 24 mins and 30 secs

Produced by Imagebakery, “Beyond Food” comprises sixteen segments and takes the food ingredients used for dishes made at Hanilkwan, a traditional Korean restaurant, as its theme. The film aims to capture the beauty, the color and texture of the original source of the food which is often overlooked. At the same time, the film casts a spotlight on the process of cooking, the mysteriousness and the beauty of the artistry by which these natural ingredients are turned into distilled scents and flavors. If one looks at the original ingredients that go into the making of a dish, he or she would find that they are in themselves unique and beautiful in its shape, color and texture. The film invites the viewers to appreciate the natural beauty of the food ingredients in its original state, and the process where they are reborn into delightful dishes in the hands of masterful cooks. The segments titled “Hands,” “Shin-sol-lo,” “Cutting into small pieces” reveal the sort of ‘behind the curtain’ scenes of cooking, which in themselves are visual feasts. The “Hands” in particular is interesting as it features the hands of all the cooks working at Hanilkwan.

Filming for Do Ho Suh’s art installation in Seoul

In 2013, Korean artist Do Ho Suh’s installation Home Within Home Within Home Within Home Within Home was exhibited for the first time as an inaugural show for Seoul’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. For the project, Imagebakery produced a video documentary of the artist's giant installation - a silk replica of a life-size (12 meters by 15 meters) three-story house that the artist had lived when he first moved to the United States to study art. The shooting of the installation, however, involved a complicated process mainly due to the giant scale of the sculpture. Because the scale was so big, the relative space to capture within the frame was limited, which became a creative barrier in the film. Given such condition and in order to maximize the team’s creative options as well as including as many ideas for the film, the company underwent a 3D simulation test in the computer lab for nearly two weeks. 

The team’s priority in the simulation test was to put aside its technical barriers in filming the installation such as its shooting equipment, and focus on the ideas. Later, the team figured out technical solutions to produce images from the simulation test into real life by gathering rare shooting equipment. Using digital simulation, the team also produced an identical model of Seoul Box and the museum site complete with the direction of camera movements and visitor circulation. This helped to enhance the accuracy of communication with the artist who lived overseas as well as providing a perfect guide to the museum staff.
