COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO
• Good news is that they post at least 2 times per day. This ensure that they are constantly updating and trying to engage viewers.
• On the other hand, they haven’t specified a website on their page. This will become hard for viewers to constantly engage and reach out to the creators that have organized this page. It is important to maintain contact between the creator and the viewer. In addition, the County of San Francisco has listed a website on their page.
• When they post on the Facebook page, they seem to lack content meaning there is nothing ranging from 100-500 characters. Maybe a way to engage the viewers is by discussing or commenting on relevant topics related to current news or so forth. On the other hand, the San Francisco Facebook page does a successful job in writing content ranging from 100-500 characters.
• However, people seemed to be engaged mostly through link postings. Maybe, that is something they should continue doing but maybe they can add a message along with it to create a more thoughtful and engaging post. Maybe request it to share it with their friends or even trying to comment their thoughts on it.
• Mainly, what this page is struggling on is engagement. Creating imaginative and innovative posts would be helpful and even asking questions to their audience. Also, the use of hashtags is really important because it can help reach other boundaries outside the network. San Francisco does a good job utilizing hashtags throughout their posts.
COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO
• Their engagement rate is below 1%. They should probably engage their users by creating voting polls through Facebook, or even engaging them with a post that requires them to like it, share it and/or even comment on it.
• They should probably increase the number of postings. According to their page, they only post about once or twice a week. Maybe they should consider posting once a day or even twice a day in order to keep the content fresh and engaging, like San Diego County Facebook page for example.
• According to their page, the audience or viewers respond better with pictures. Most people find writing content boring. So in order to increase participation in their website, maybe creating some popular memes that could be health related, or announcements using images would be helpful as well.
• What they should continue doing is keep posting hashtags. Hashtags are an important component because they can reach other people while not necessarily trying to look at their page. Eventually, they will encounter with this page by searching the relevant hashtags. The San Diego County Facebook page lacks the use of hashtags.
• Another good thing is that their messages are from 100-500 characters long which is good! Like I previously mentioned, maybe it would be ideal if they posted a video or an announcement where they can post the message that they wish along with images and/or interactive content (similar to a flyer).
