Analysis Activity #1 Examine the following DUI ad featuring actress Helen Mirren. Is this an appropriate choice? How much credibility does this ad have, and why?
I actually think that this ad created for the Super Bowl was very effective when it comes to getting the message of don’t drink and drive across yet it might have not made every British lady out there very thrilled. Besides the fact of the stereotyping in the beginning, I liked how it addressed the secondary audience of drunk driving which included everyone that would “thank” you for not getting behind the wheel drunk. The way she stated it was straight forward and was said in a way with a firm tone yet not intimidating because he came off as funny yet real. I think Budweiser making this ad is very credible not only because they are the producers of the ad and does not want them to be the reason people get into accidents by drinking irresponsibly but also using Helen Mirren, a famous person does catch the attention of more people than a regular actor/actress so if she enjoys this beer, it can be assumed that it is good. Budweiser always creates very effective ads over the years, also in Super Bowls past so therefore this was a good ad in my point of view.
