"Toya! Eheh. 's been a while since you passed through here. Same old same old with me, but you and Akito...with the kinda stuff you guys're occupied with—last time I saw him he was looking pretty rough. Anything I can help you guys out with? I'm still no good with combat, but I've gotten pretty good scavenging, y'know?"
-@kotaromita [AU compliant]
— I didn't expect meeting you again... Your help is more than welcome. Even though I have no idea what happened to Akito.
There's a flash of sadness on his face before forcing his smile back on. 'I'm sure he didn't think we'd meet again since it's a miracle I've lasted this long missing a hand and taking care of my brother,' Kotaro assumes. "Yeah, he's...well, you know how he is. Reckless. I was hoping you'd know more than he'd told me, but I should've known better than to expect that anymore." He clasps together his "good hand" and prosthetic split-hook. "So, what can I do ya for? As in what're you low on?" 'Whatever it'll take to have some company for a little while.'
— I'm fine for now, I'm just going to meet someone. I think I have time to stay with you for a bit, if you wouldn't mind.
He smiles under the mask.
Kotaro smiles back. The movement of his cheeks further emphasizes the dark circles around his eyes. "Eheh, 's a little weird nowadays having someone around me without some real reason, but...yeah. Thanks." He refrains from reminiscing about the days the reasoning behind their meetings were for music instead of survival. Now he can't even write lyrics without a keyboard and god forbid he try and use a touch pad. "Mind if I ask who you're headed to see? Anybody from—...anyone I would know?"
— I don't think you know them, besides the fact that it's also my first time meeting them in a long time. I don't want to put you at risk if it's a trap. You look a little tired too, are you ok?
'A trap, huh? Even with people you used to think of as friends there's that risk now. I should expect as much by now,' Kotaro thinks. He's a bit careless when it comes to seeing people he recognizes. Toya was smart to know differently.
"Hehehe! Isn't everybody tired, though? That's—my situation is nothing worth sneezing at. Sit down or something. My bet is you're pretty exhausted yourself."
— I'd like you to sit down as well. We can talk or something.
He sits on the floor.
— Take a rest.
Kotaro exhales through his nose in a silent laugh. He steps over some weeds growing between the cracks in the concrete before sitting next to Toya on the crumbling curb. "If you insist."
— I'm glad you're fine. At least up to what can be considered fine in this situation.
He laughs once, holding his hook to his mouth as he once would have his hand. "Yeah, I'm alright. Making do how I can. I can't let anything get me in too dark of a place. I have Takato to take care of." Hopefully Toya could at least remember the name of Kotaro's little brother.
He glances around, listening to the disconcerting silence. They're alone. With a small smile he asks, "Hey, do you wanna sing together for a little bit?"
— It's nice to have someone by your side. I'm camping with someone as well.
He takes in a deep breath, before taking off his mask for a little while.
— Sing together..? Of course.
He grins delightedly at the response. Seeing Toya's face and hearing Toya's voice has him waxing nostalgic. He'd much rather sing with him like before than discuss their grim reality.
"Eheh. Okay, do you remember this one?" Kotaro says. He may not be a member of Vivid BAD SQUAD, but practicing with them nearly every day it would've been hard not to memorize their songs. He starts to sing the beginning of Mirai. Of course he can't sing it as well as Akito, Kohane, An, or Toya, but he knows the words and in general he can keep up with them as a singer.
His eyes light up again as he listens to the lyrics, not expecting Kotaro to remember them as well as he does. He waits for the best time to join in, harmonizing the duet in a nostalgic acapella.
Kotaro's heart soars hearing Toya's singing voice again. He had feared the events he partook in with him would dull with time, but with this they seem as vivid as ever. It's clear they're both a bit out of practice, but Toya's voice has always been lovely, be it singing or speaking. Kotaro taps his fingers on his thigh like a metronome until they finish the song. He struggles to catch his breath for a moment before giggling. Then, he throws his head back and really laughs.
"Waaah! That felt so good!"
— It's quite nice to sing again. I feel more... Alive, you know?
He seems more relaxed than before, letting his guard down and diving in the nostalgic feeling of singing one more time.
"Toya! Eheh. 's been a while since you passed through here. Hey, Kusanagi... It's me.
- @hellsaoyagi
..a-ah-..
..oh... Aoyagi-kun.. it's you..
I think you've seen the other survivors, right?
Right... what about them...?
It's more about Kamishiro... I think you need to talk to him. Really.
I think not.
Really.
Do you want to tell me about it?
I hate him.
Did he hurt you in some way? I'm here to listen.
Sick fucker abandoned me.
Again.
They wipe their tears, and despite them still flowing, they act nonchalant
Oh well. They're no longer my problem/
I get it. Don't worry. I just think you should try to listen to their side of the story. If anything, I can mediate the conversation or even be like a mailman for you two.
Or not. It's your choice.
No.
Rui's probably going to search for us anyway.
They stare at the metal pipe
Alright then. I'll wait for him.
Or he'll ghost, like usual.
Wouldn't plan on seeing him anyway..
They wipe the rest of their tears
I was planning on teaming up with him...
Or at least hearing his side of the story.
You do you then.
I'll try to avoid making you crossing paths.
Thanks..
I'm here to help.
Now that I think about it, there's definitely more people than when we started this
It's weird, isn't it? Where have they been before anyways...
I don't know.... Random question... where were you when all this started?
Walking back home. It was just the time for me to get some cover. I ended up camping in the ruins of the Weekend Garage for a good while.
Oh... huh...
Anything wrong?
No.. Just, thinking..
Do you want to talk about it?
What are some places the others might be..?
I really don't know. Do you want to try to find anyone?
..uhm..
..no..
They look at the monitor
Then I'll be on my way. I'll be back.
i’d go to nene if they would actually listen to me, but..
i need help. rin’s, uh… malfunctioned.
-@intruder-r-official
Send me a location we can meet in. I'll try my best.
how about, uh... there's an underground bunker- old arcade. i'll be there.
I'll be there as fast as I can.

Oh... huh...
Anything wrong?
