House of the Dragon + Reductress Headlines (25/?)
no seriously let’s lay this all out
Sansa starts the series at eleven years old and is currently thirteen
She is currently the successor to Winterfell, the Lady of Casterly Rock, in line for Riverrun and near to becoming the ruler of the Eyrie
She managed to trick her abusive fiancé, who was the king into not killing someone
She survived over a year in kings landing whilst three of her family members died and three others had to run away believed dead
She stayed strong and polite around those who killed her family, whilst slipping in some subtle insults
She has managed to get some of the best fighters in Westeros on her side including Jaime Lannister, Brienne of Tarth and Sandor Clegane
All whilst remaining good and kind and compassionate
But no do keep telling us how naive and bad at the game she is
What is your favorite sansa related theory ?
That warging goes both ways, so when Lady was killed she warged into Sansa permanently. What I wouldn’t give to be a receptacle for the souls of my pets.
Who do you think is azor ahai ?(Personally I don't feel George would go with the chosen one trope considering her wrote multiple characters who destroyed their and others lived thinking they were the chosen one )
Dany, but I think Azor Ahai is someone that everyone who doesn’t worship R’hllor would see as a villain. I am pretty sure I did a YouTube video about this, but red priests love nothing more than burning people, so their ultimate hero will probably burn a LOT of people.
Do you think sansa is the girl in grey ?
I tend to think it’s Jeyne Poole.
I'm really sick of shitty adaptations and media in general, I don't mind revivals or sequels, but it seems like they're all being written by people who a) dont understand the source material and b) are just bad writers.
Maybe I'm just being a bitch but why are there so many bad writers able to produce such big projects. I know getting into the writers room is hard enough so you would think only the best of the best would get these opportunities, but there are so many adaptations which are so fundamentally and technically flawed that I don't understand how these scripts even got approved by the director/s and producers.
If your movie or show comes out and thousands of people can immediately pick apart the poor writing you've failed spectacularly. 18 year olds on Tumblr should not be able to point out why making that writing choice is such a stupid idea.
No I agree that it’s baffling, like I know that entertainment executives notoriously make bad choices but if the material is already made and popular as-is then what’s so confounding about adapting it?
I absolutely hate the glamorization of the wildlings and Ygritte and how no body talks about it . Like no kidnapping and raping a women is no better then selling her off for marriage . (Also nobody talks about the dubious consent going on between Ygritte and Jon )
I think people do talk about it actually, even though it’s worth more attention.
GRRM writes such compelling women yet his fandoms only care for men or "masculine" women . I've never seen a fandom that simply just hates women so much .
Unfortunately I don’t think it’s that rare or unusual.
My fav Targaryens + Text Posts (part 5)
this happens to her because she behaves badly
Been seeing daeron alicent parallels and even daeron sansa parallels and dare I say he will never be hated half as much as either of them and I'm not upset about it so it's fine really
Well he won’t even have the time to be hated, but I get your point and it sucks.
It seems like a pretty obviously subtextual way to go. Sansa spent a long time with Cersei at Kings Landing and learning and observing about the political side of ruling and becoming familiar with the nature of power in this context. Her becoming qitn on her own merit in opposition to how Cersei schemed her way to power while also being savvy enough to recognize Cersei types makes her an ideal ruler. Arya was always someone who existed outside the traditional bounds while Sansa operated on the inside, she's still traditional in her own way but flips the script to be able to rule while being a woman.
Yeah but have you considered that Sansa is annoying and thus irrelevant.
My biggest pet pea e is people saying sansa was a mean girl . Not just haters either , but fans saying she was mean girl that grew out of it . And no ? No she isn't . The only person she is mean to is Arya and this is specifically after the trident aka a traumatic event (also Arya after it hits sansa or throws food at her and pulls at her hair yet no one acts like she's the devil for it ) . Shes not rude or mean to anyone else . Then there's the idea that she was spoiled and yes obv she is but they act like her classism is like a central part of her character ( as far as I remember she's never been rude to the small folks or maids or such) . I mean the first books goes out of its way to criticize Jon and call him a bully and to show that Jon actually had a very good life in comparison to the others of the nights watch buy most people don't even mention it as a part of his character. Sansa was definitely spoiled but she was never the mean girl , her courtesy is the main part of her character
I mean, people are allowed to have different interpretations of a character, but she’s a fantasist and lore nerd to me.
I frequently forget that got and hotd aren't written by the same people considering both of them use SA as shock value and female development
Yeah they love the non consensual stuff. 👎
