"Crypton Future Media’s Sasaki Wataru revealed that the new Megurine Luka library will be called “Megurine Luka V4X“, where the X stands for eXpression, eXtended as well as venturing out into the unknown. As expected, the new Luka library will be using the VOCALOID4 engine, and hence will be growl-capable. The software will come with Hard and Soft voice banks in Japanese as well as Straight and Soft voice banks in English. For the Japanese voice banks, the user can also apply a ‘voice color’ using Crypton’s E.V.E.C. feature—Power, Whisper, Cute, Soft, Husky and Falsetto.” Source.

YAMAHA’s recent product announcement livestream announced the upcoming VOCALOID4 Editor scheduled for release this late December, which will include new features such as growl, where the amount of rasp or growling can be manipulated as a time-varying parameter, among other things. A new voice bank for the new engine was also announced for the upcoming VY1V4 which will include Normal, Soft, Power and Natural.

AH-Software also announced V4 versions of their lineup coming up soon, which include Kaai Yuki, SFA2 Miki, Nekomura Iroha and Hiyama Kiyoteru, plus Yuzuki Yukari which will also include a new voice bank called “On” or “Calm”.  Source.

Coming in via TOMOPOP, we're seeing some images of the newly revealed HATSUNE MIKU x TESTUYA NOMURA project; which turned out to be a new Play Arts KAI figurine. And quite honestly, it looks bad. That duck face doesn't help in the slightest.

The sketch is absolutely gorgeous - as Nomura's artwork usually is - but my, my that sculpt does not look right. - digi

We're coming back from the dead to show the song that Miku sang on The David Letterman Show last night, Sharing The World.

Her network premiere, in support of the upcoming Miku Expo events, seems to have gone down quite well - personally, although I enjoyed the song, I felt that the tuning was a little off, and perhaps not adjusted correctly for the live space.

It's an important step in the Vocaloid takeover though, so hurrah for that! What did you guys think of it? - digi

Hatsune Miku 3DS coming to U.S., Europe ⊟

The green-haired vocaloid will finally come to a Nintendo platform in the West some time next year! Sega announced Hatsune Miku Project Mirai Remix (a “localized version and a complete edition of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai with added elements,” according to Gematsu) during a fifth anniversary talk show for the singer today. Thanks to Geii, CSD, and Claudia for the GIFs!

Okay, so I just found the full Project Diva f 2nd opening, and oh my goodness it's so pretty.

Tohoku Zunko, previously a VOICEROID from AH-Software created to aid the economy of the Tohoku area of Japan affected by the earthquake and the tsunami in 2012, was now announced to join in the VOCALOID3 ranks! She is voiced by Satou Satomi, voice actress for Marvell from Fairy Tail and Ritsu from K-ON!

The download version of the software is priced at 8,381 JPY; the boxed version is priced at 11,238 JPY while the boxed version bundled with the Windows compatible VOCALOID3 Editor will be 16,952 JPY plus tax, scheduled to be released on June 5 of this year.

Her voice is calm and melodic, and the recommended range for her is 70 BPM-140 BPM going from F2 to G#4, respectively. Four demo songs have been uploaded to NicoNico Douga and can be sampled here.

Yamaha has made an official announcement that their new vocaloid voicebank, named v flower, will be released to the public this May 9th, with the digital download priced at 9,333 JPY and a hardcover release scheduled for sometime this summer. It’s advertised as a powerful female voice suitable for rock music, range going from F#2 to F4, 80-200 BPM recommended.

The mascot’s name itself is simply “flower”, and she was designed by two HoneyWorks members, Yamako and Rukoru. HoneyWorks also released her debut song, Inokori Sensei, which will be featured later on today.
