all joking aside whenever i see people speak sarcastically about "posting is not activism" or "queer kids in kuffiyehs" i think either you don't understand hasbara or you don't understand zionists. i have palestinian friends who have been blacklisted from their industry for saying something as benign as "free palestine." and you think it's petty of people to demand a public demonstration of support for palestinians? there are many conversations to be had about social media activism and performative activism but you're not having them if you're pretending it all carries the same weight and has the same impact.

Complacency is a death sentence. Comfort, in times if great collective and global violence, is a death sentence. Either of your ethics, your morality, or your soul. You cannot sit out every battle, every war. Apathy is an option. Indifference is an option. Complacency is an option. And it always leans on the side against the oppressed.

Caring is a main component of humanity. Without it, we are shells, gaping black holes sucking up life itself until our own demise. In the end, all we have is our legacy, our impact. And I can't, and won't, speak for anybody else, but I don't want mine to be, "Keep your head down and just worry about yourself."

I don't want those to follow me to leave a trail of desperation and despair in their wake. I want them to care, to fucking love others enough to fight. That's all. That's all.
