“You’re too kind, Adler.” Henry chuckled. “I always knew Princeton was good for something.” He claimed, happily teasing the man. It was a distraction from the shit show currently occurring in his life.

“Yeah,” she nodded along, feigning sympathy. “I mean, if it were me that took your wallet? I’d be making the most out of those uncancelled cards. Lots of online shopping.”

“I can’t even check my balance to see if someone is spending my money because my fucking phone is broke.” He sighed, letting out a breath to calm himself down. “Everything about this situation is just great, isn’t it?”

“Look, honey, don’t worry about anything. I got you.” Brighton smiled at him, already reaching into her bag to get her phone out - the solution to every problem imaginable. She was fully determined to help Henry after all he’d done for her. “Why don’t you call your bank and have your cards closed, and I’ll lend you some money to hold you over until everything is sorted?”

For a moment, Henry was proud of himself for managing to get someone like Brighton Innocent to like him. It really helped in situations like this. Taking her phone, he gave her a grateful smile. “Are you sure?” He asked, looking up at her. Honestly, he still found it strange how easy he and Brighton seemed to get on, but right now, he was really glad they did.

“Well then sure, I’m your guy.” He chuckled. “I’m tryna think of someone, but then my mind goes ‘oh, lets look through your phone’, before realising that I can’t.”

“What else is required?” He asked, quirking his brow teasingly. “Praying it won’t have to come to that. I’ll give it another couple of hours and if there’s no sign, then I’ll cancel ‘em.”
