From the Q&A Last Night. Nick talking about Henry’s story and how he and Matthew talked a lot about how they didn’t want his story to be tragic and wanting him to feel seen and taken care of and live the life that he deserved to live.

I love Tara and Darcy but I wanted more backstory with Darcy. Like did they ever make up with their mom? Not that they have to if their mom is still being unsupportive. I just feel like they had that dramatic scene in season 3 of Tara talking to Darcy’s mom and then nothing came of it. Like we see how Nick and Charlie deal with family stress but it would have been nice to see how Darcy deals with being estranged from their mom. Their going interailing with Tara but is Darcy’s mom helping pay for that or is Darcy relying fully on her grandmother who she moved in with. I just relate to Darcy so I wanted to see more of their story

The ending scene was very cute the book on the bed and Nick and Charlie talking as they head to breakfast.
although i absolutely adore both writing and reading angsty fic about miscommunications born of insecurity, i think canonically neither ilya nor shane is an insecure person. they're actually both very confident, sometimes cocky, and i don't think there are signs that's an act!
shane's problem isn't insecurity, it's shame. he doesn't think he's not good enough, he thinks there is something wrong with him that he has to keep secret at all costs lest everyone find out and punish him for it
ilya's problem isn't insecurity, it's self-hatred. he doesn't think he's not good enough, he thinks there is a deep well of badness inside himself that will ultimately destroy him and the people he loves
what i'm saying is that there are a lot of different ways to feel terrible about yourself and we should branch out!
