Language was curious, allowing for many observations if one paid attention. The mage had an ear for it, a trait stemming just as much from how many she had under her belt by now as from any innate talent. Listening and paying attention was the quickest way to learn; she needed to learn quickly when somewhere new.
"Time has a habit of flying by quicker than expected, or at least I have always felt that it did." Elise tried to keep track of it, but it was difficult when travelling. Someone should invent a standardized, multiversal calendar. "What brought you here? Socialite politics, or does Noxus have an artistic scene I have yet to discover?" She could not imagine it did. The people here seemed very practical-minded, though, of course, a national spirit would always spawn art.
"It is an indulgence, yes. Sadly, one I enjoy too often, but there are worse vices than a sweet tooth in my experience." His emphasis did not go unnoticed, even if Elise was unsure what he meant by it. There were rumours about what she did here; it was inevitable when she did not mind her patients more. But magic was not forbidden here, so it had felt silly to operate in secrecy, especially with how it hindered her productivity. Still, it might explain why he was here. It would not be the first time a socialite came to investigate exotic rumours in their boredom. Though there was that lingering...sense. The mage could not explain it, and it scratched at her mind.
"Thankfully, honey has its benefits too. It is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, and you can actually treat wounds with it should you, for some reason, only have honey at hand." The healer doubted he was interested in this information, but she felt more comfortable in familiar medical talk than in subtle games of wordplay and emphasis. If he was only here to gawk at the latest rumours, it would be the fastest way to see him out the door.
"I can give you a small bag home if you like the tea? The sailor who gave it to me gave me more than I expected." A translation error on her part. Elise had suggested a handful of tea as payment when he insisted on repaying her after she healed his broken hand. She had received his hand's weight in tea.
"Ah, surely you are too busy for that? Not to mention, I cannot exactly offer you anything in return for such kindness."
