The way Jaimie Oliver says “capsule” like cap-shoe-ol
He kind of drives me nuts in general, but that in particular is especially cringy.

Hey T! Haven’t seen you post in a while so just checking in. My toxic trait is never posting but still being sad when my mutuals don’t post either. I hope life is treating you kindly.
And one of my longest running mutuals must have been having similar Tumblr nostalgia.
Life is life, but pretty ok at the moment my friend. Glad to see your name and hear from you.
Friends, it’s been a minute.
I was thinking of you all just yesterday about how this place was 18/19 years ago. The nearly nonstop interaction. The folks who’ve moved on that I’m still in touch with. The folks who’ve moved on and I wonder where they are. The handful of us who are still kind of here.
Anyway — had my annual review today. I’ve never been more stressed about one than I was this one. Litterally nauseous until it was over.
It ended up being very pleasant for such an. Interaction.
After, I took myself downtown to have lunch at a place I rarely go. I’d scheduled a pedicure, so I just stayed downtown after lunch and wandered around.. to be clear, I live in a town of 12,000, so downtown is 5 minutes from my house, but still I couldn’t be bothered to go home and then go back out.
Everywhere I went, the people were so extraordinarily pleasant. The waitress at lunch, a total doll. The person minding the artist collective was helping a 4-H student with her project for fair in a couple of weeks. The book store owner who knows my old English teacher whose books she’s keeps. The brewery folks calling me by name and immediately brining my fav beer despite being slammed and clearly struggling to keep up. All of it A+
I came home with a Russian olive salad bowl from the artists store and from the book store I bought and adorable version of the old Candy Land board game that I loved as a child and the entire hard back series of The Chronicles of Narnia. Oh, and my pretty turquoise toe nails.
Pretty good day for my current life in the small town.

So good.
When I was 17, my friend was willing to sell me her ‘65 Mustang for $5000. I wanted it soooo bad. But, of course a 17 year old (at least in my world) doesn’t have that kind of money to throw around. My dad said “no”.
I still want a vintage mustang. But, they are way more than 5K these days.
I rarely question The Old Man’s judgment. But this is one he got wrong.
Ugh. One thing guaranteed to set a work trip morning off poorly is a TV blaring in the breakfast room. At least it’s not Fox News this time, but still annoying. I don’t need all this racket while I’m trying to drink my coffee and choke down hotel eggs.

Can you tell I’m revisiting one of my “Songs I Dig” playlists from back when it was easier to find new music instead of AI generated “meh”.

Awe buddies. I remember when I used to actually be able to get tickets to their shows.
One of the last, a boozy clear eyed conversation (if you know, you know) about politics with Evan at a little bar outside of where they had just played with The Truckers.
Ugh. Another day, another beat-down of a conversation with my boss. I’m pretty good at taking constructive criticism. I am not, it turns out, good at taking petty nit-picking. And I get a lot of petty nit-picking and micromanaging and over-explaining and talking to me like I’m a college undergraduate instead of a competent professional.
It’s really starting to mess with my head.
Today’s nagging was actually from a third party who didn’t understand something I said THREE WEEKS ago. Instead of him asking what the word meant then, he went to my boss who then had to give me “feedback” which was a 10 minute lecture about choosing how I word things. I think she could tell by my posture that it didn’t land well because then she started trying to joke with me…while I was like “let me off this call so I can go scream into a pillow”
Fuck, y’all. It would be a good time to win the lottery. My confidence is in the toilet and I feel like my professional development is going backwards.

Hahahaha! Omg, I used one of those headshot generators just out of curiosity. Looks like me, but also a robot.
Found a rib bone at the park. Happy Day For Ruby.
Somehow have managed to keep this alive for a couple of years. This is the most blossoming it’s ever done.
