Friend or Foe

Anybody who knows me... well somewhat knows me (I’m a bit of a closed book) will tell you that I’m... Wait, what exactly do the people I call my friends know me to be? Do they really know me or do they feel as if they only know of me or do I do things that constantly have them questioning what kind of friend I am?

I’d like to believe that even though i’m not often very transparent about my life, that I at least consistently have lifestyle and behaviour patterns. I do admit that what I used to believe in and used to swear by has changed over the years, growth has a way of doing that to people, but the core fundamentals of a friendship I still hold with high regard.

My friendships have always been a bit of a hit or miss for me, especially during my school years and got slightly better outside of the dreaded school walls. I’m a lover of people, I always have been, I feed off of people’s energies and I often click with people instantaneously so making friends has always been the easiest thing for me, however it has been proven that keeping them has been the hardest part of my life journey.

With that said, for those people whose friendships I’ve managed to keep over the years when my name pops up, I’d like them to think of me as someone who is never afraid to be frank but with the ability to bring a sense of comfort when need be, I’d like them to think of me as someone who they can constantly rely on and never second guess their choice in coming to me, I’d like them to think of me as someone with a great sense of humour but first and foremost I’d like my friends to think of me as friend, a real, genuine friend.

I’m incredibly flawed and unfortunately can not promise perfection but I do try to be the best friend I possibly can be.

HELLO ALL!

Yes you are reading the correct blog, I know what you're thinking, but i decided to put a spanner in the works for this post, and figured why not get to know a little bit about Neo, he's a rather talented African-Australian rapper, who's supported acts like Nas, The Game, Bone Thugs and Harmony, just to name a few, but who would have thought he had a funny bone?

No, don't worry I won't be droning on about the typical stuff, keep reading I promise you'll manage to squeeze in a few chuckles, he's quite the quirky one :)

Question: If I gave you an Elephant where would you hide it?

Answer: I wouldn't hide it I’d show it off to the world.

Question: If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and what would say to them?

Answer: Michael Jackson I need him to teach me how to be a better entertainer on stage.

Answer: Tennis Biscuits, because love means nothing to me. Aaaaaaah get it? Lol

Question: Why isn’t 11 pronounced onety one?

Answer: It actually was until the early 1800s and it was named by Spanish Mathematician Eres Tonto (1770-1823). Google him.

Question: What’s the longest you’ve gone without a shower?

Answer: A week. I was on holidays and they unfortunately only had a bath tub.

Question: Flats or heels?

Answer: Neither

Question: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you take with you?

Answer: I like how people usually say ‘phone’ lol who you gonna call? Lol ipad? Where you gonna charge it? hahaha Sorry I’m caught up in a moment. I’d take 3 books; The Holy Bible, The Art of War by Sun Tzu and a Bear Gryls ‘How to survive without drinking your own urine’ book.

Answer: Both.

Question: Do you prefer women or sheep?

Answer: Well to be honest I’ve seen all the Facebook videos of people doing the dirty with animals and I gotta tell you I’m not impressed, so women it is. LOL

Answer: A Lion

Answer: Because 7 ate nine 10 times

Question: Girl with a pretty face and not so hot body or girl with an not so great face and hot body?

Answer: Pretty face, could always hit the gym with her if she felt her body was not great

Ok, I realise I've totally neglected my blog, but I'm back, so yay me! :)

I Blog, You Blog, We All Blog Together.

So in my dismal attempt to rally for topic suggestions on Facebook and Twitter, of which availed to an almost absolute zero, I decided to turn to the trusted old Google, amped for a glimmer of hope, I searched till I was blue in the face, not only did good old Google give me absolutely NOTHING I was looking for but I realised that there were way to many fashion, gossip, entertainment and art blogs *Yawn*.

Look I have nothing against fashion, gossip, entertainment and a minute amount of art, but when there’s an overwhelming amount of monotonous garbage (I’ll use “garbage”, as not to offend anybody) it eventually becomes difficult to differentiate one blog from another.

Why aren’t people writing thought provoking, self-opinionated, funny pieces? Is it that nobody wants to read, so nobody writes or creates relevant blogs?

Ok, I really don’t want to harp on and on about this but I’m so sick of seeing pretty pictures and reading about the rich and famous who don’t have a cooking clue of my existence yet my nose is stuck so far into their business that I can’t see how judgmental I’m being, while I’m struggling to make even an ounce of the money they make.

Basically, what I’m saying is all I would love to do is read about things that hit home, especially because everybody is a blogger these days.

Is that too much to ask?

Yep It's A New Year

So, the year has kicked off with a bit of a whimper for me, not much has changed and I still sort of feel like the old me, so I'm assuming that my 2013 hasn't quite come with much of a shocker... as yet, though my day at the office has really gotten me thinking quite a bit about what I want to achieve this year and maybe a little bit of motivation from my someone special didn't hurt. Having heard what his year is going to be like just made me realize that I'm not doing nearly enough for myself and my future well-being especially if I'm planning on living the life I've envisioned for years now. So, here is to achieving my goals... no, not resolutions, GOALS! It honestly shouldn't start with a whole new year for me to sit up and grasp every opportunity with both hands but I guess if it all happens right at the beginning of a new year, then who am I to argue?

Happy 2013 (eight days in lol) lets make it a productive year filled with opportunities, beneficial prospects and success!

A Scrub? How About... NO!

"Scrub", I’m pretty sure after the popular 90s girl group TLC came out with that song we now all know the meaning of the term "scrub", but in case you don’t, let me break it down for you. A "scrub" is a name given to a guy with no job, no car, no place of his own and no ambition or plans to make all of the above mentioned happen.

Now, don’t get me wrong I’m sure many of us have dated a “scrub” or two or our whole lives, guys that are still living at home, have no job, have no car because they are still studying, ah yes the beloved student is the only acceptation to the dating a “scrub” rule.

See I really don’t mind him being a student because he clearly has ambition and direction in life and let’s be honest we have all heard the saying that goes a little something like “A guy will appreciate you as his woman if you were there through his hustle” or whatever it says.

The only time you should seriously be worried about dating a “scrub” is when he has none of the above mentioned and no ambition or plans because he’s too busy living the good life mooching off of his girlfriend, dictating who she can or cannot see, when and where they should be moving to and what she can or cannot wear.

All too often my beautiful, ambitious, striving friends fall victim to “scrubs” and once they fall “in love” with them we all know all hope is lost, getting rid of them becomes a pest control issue, yep bringing out the big guns but unfortunately not even pest control works, they manipulate them with stories of how my poor friends paying for their bills will inspire them to get a job… (Cue the crickets)… Wait! What?

Look, I’m all for women empowerment, power to the woman that wants to pay the bill every so often but come on, can a brother step into the manly role whenever required, without being asked, nagged, begged or guilt tripped into doing it?

My point is if a woman is looking for a life partner she needs an ambitious guy so that when it’s time to tie the knot all she has to do is step into the house and her presence will make it a home.
