this. this is so raw. love is the driving force of humans, something that will never be taken away from our hearts, as cheesy as it may sound. the fact that people are scared they won't get to love someone is horrific, and at best is a violation of everybody's unalienable rights as HUMANS. unacceptable.

for 4 years, 1,461 days, 35,000 hours 2 million minutes, and all my awake minutes, i will live in fear. fear for my life, my loved ones, myself. but even better than that, i will live FOR love, hope, faith faith that there's beauty on the other side of this one man cannot take away the love of a country. one man cannot take away the morals of a country. he can't even take it away from you. stay alive, my love. there's light beyond this.

To all of my sisters, brothers and siblings of the lgbtq+ family, to all the people who fear for their rights, their bodies, their lives:

I am sorry.

I am sorry that you will have to go through this.

I am sorry that your family and friends couldn’t help and protect you from this madman and his stupid, insane flying monkeys.

I am sorry that the fight will be so much harder now.

But know this: you are loved, you and your life are valued, and special, and unique.

We may be internet strangers, but we feel with you, we cry with you, we scream with you.

We mourn your deaths, murdered by politicians that use their power to suppress everyone around them, and we will do everything we can to help you.

But to be able to do that, you have to keep fighting, keep living. Show that fucker that he may be able to buy, lie and cheat his way to the top, but he won’t be able to silence you. Our ancestors fought for us, and we will continue this fight. For us, and all the children terrified of being themselves.

I beg you, don’t give up, no matter what they throw at you.

It will be hard, but together we can survive and live.

Bottom line, you’ve gotta stay alive. No matter how hard it gets, no matter what laws are passed or what insane things our government says, you’ve gotta live. Stay alive for the future, stay alive for the past, stay alive for all the young queer kids, stay alive for all the queer elders, stay alive because NO ONE can take your queerness from you. NO ONE can change who you are. Be safe, think rationally, but know that there will be positive change one day. No matter what happens you have people who care, people who will fight for what’s right, and most importantly you’ve gotta keep hope that things will get better because no one can take that from you.
