I love your succubus reader!! Thank you very much for the content 💜❤️
Okay, but, have you considered Reader having a demonic form? By that I mean cute little wings. Reader can fly with them, and that gives the chain some valuable utility, but also a flight risk (get it? Ehehe flight).
Plus, teeny lil horns (for grip, ofc ;) ) and a tail! A lil spade/heart tail that wraps around, and you can pet it a little.
I think that would be very nifty
(This ask was perfect because I’ve been slowly adding some more demonic traits to our reader)
Succubus Reader Pt.4
Other Parts: 1 / 2 / 3 / HC
Warnings: NSFW minors DNI, Bondage, thigh fucking, penetrative sex. Lemme know if I need to add anything :)
Enemies to Soulmates
(HW Link x Reader soulmate au with an enemies to lovers twist. Haven’t quite gotten to the romance yet, so I might make a part 2)
“It has been such a pleasure having you delegates from Hyrule visit our humble kingdom. I understand you are two of the heroes who bested the dark witch Cia and the traitor king Ganon?”
The world doesn’t stop turning after war. Life finds a way to continue. Foliage sprouts from the ashes left behind, rivers push the debris and blood downstream, and those left living at the end of it all pick themselves up and get back to work.
“You truly are too kind, King Holdra. I’m just glad we had the chance to meet you in person like this.”
Your own line of work, at least before the war, was to handle foreign affairs. Gathering allies and settling disputes. Now, after a war that nearly tore the kingdom to shreds, your expertise is sorely needed.
“I must say, your kingdom is lovely. Holodrum displays its autumns in such rich, vibrant colors.”
So why.
Why did Zelda have to send him with you? Someone who has never even left the kingdom of Hyrule. Someone who grew up in the barracks, surrounded by rough and tumble soldiers and who only barely knows the uses of the cutlery sat in front of him.
“Oh how delightful! You really are a charmer. Remind me, what was your name and rank young man?” King Holdra chuckles heartily, clapping his hands at the compliment your companion had given his kingdom.
“My name is Link. I was recently promoted to be Captain of the Royal Guard.” Link smiles bashfully, rubbing the back of his neck and only barely keeping himself from glancing away. At least some of the etiquette you taught him on the way here stuck.
“Very good, very good indeed! As for you- well, I already know who you are, but to think you had such incredible battle prowess to be put on Hyrule’s front lines! I never would’ve guessed!”
“Yes, I imagine the news came as quite a shock to you, King Holdra. I spent a few years of my youth studying magecraft, with a special focus on defensive magic. I never imagined it would be used for warfare, but I’m glad my abilities allowed me to protect the people of my kingdom.” You dip your head graciously. The roof of your mouth feels itchy. It always does when you have to put on this false face. Someone polite and benign, generous and modest to the point that anyone else would think you a saint. It’s the face Hyrule needs you to have right now, though, so you will wear it.
“Magecraft, you say… Mages are rare in our little kingdom of Holodrum, though we have never lacked magical items. Take this little flower that grows wild all across the kingdom, for example.” Holdra snaps, and a maid approaches with a silver platter balanced on her hand. A ceramic plate is placed in front of you, holding a delicate white flower you’ve never seen before. Link receives a similar bloom, but doesn’t bother to glance your way, simply tapping his fingers on the table at a steady pace.
“It’s quite lovely. What does it do?” You ask. Holdra seems pleased at your question, seeming all too eager to explain,
“That is a Soulbloom. A special flower that, when ingested, can show you a vision of your soulmate. Its special properties don’t stop there, of course. It’s said when magic is imbued into the flower, the bloom will take on the form of the magic wielder's soulmate. It’s been centuries since Holodrum has had a mage, so I have no way of proving the validity of these claims. Surely, though. Surely the two of you wouldn’t mind showing an old king the magic Fate has in store for each of us.”
It sounds like a chore. Using your magic to create a life- a life you have never once wanted to meet before. Your duty is to your kingdom. You don’t want to get mixed up with fate and who it says you’re destined to meet.
Unfortunately, you need King Holdra’s support, and while refusing his request may not end your mission in failure, fulfilling the request may just be the thing to secure your success here.
“I understand. Just fill the flower with magic, right?” You hum, lifting a hand, only to pause when you notice Link not following your actions.
He has magical ability. You’ve witnessed him wield a flame rod before. Maybe the idea of soulmates just doesn’t appeal to a man with so much responsibility on his shoulders. Then again, his soulmate is most likely Zelda. He really has nothing to lose here.
“Why are you hesitating.” You keep your tone light in case the king can make out the cadence of your voice but know for a fact he can’t hear what you’re saying unless you project. Link scrunches up his nose at the false kindness in your tone, but quickly schools his expression into a pleasant smile.
“Not everyone is willing to drop their pants for a chance at diplomacy, little errand runner. What am I supposed to do with a miniature version of my soulmate after all of this?” He lilts sweetly but you can practically taste the venom on his tongue. Goddesses this guy is insufferable.
“I’m willing to bet you can take it back to your darling princess and the two of you can laugh about it and live happily ever after,” You purr, smile turning tight. You can feel the magic curling at your fingertips, begging you to choke this guy out.
“And what if it’s not Zelda?” He asks, and you’re surprised at the vulnerability in his voice. Is that what this is all about? You don’t bother to hide the laugh that forces its way out of you, content that the king will think you’re laughing at a particularly funny joke, because that must be what this is.
“Ohhh, is the kingdom's most precious knight scared he won’t get the princess? How absolutely precious.” You simper, finally allowing your magic to curl around the delicate bloom sitting in front of you. The glow of the magic casts your face in a dark shade of blue, the smile fading from your face during your moment of concentration.
“Man up. You’ve let destiny control your life up ‘til this point. That flower will turn into Zelda, and you can relax in the knowledge that your entire life’s path has been laid out since the day you were born.” You nearly scoff, but think better of it.
Your flower is now a dark blue, and one of the king’s attendants comes up to place it in a cup filled with hot water. You suppose it’ll steep for some time before producing a small version of your soulmate. You fold your hands politely in front of yourself before giving Link a patient look as if to say ‘See? It wasn’t that hard.’
Link gives you a look that usually means he’s going to fist fight you once you’ve left polite company before placing his hand over the flower. In a matter of seconds, it’s turning the emerald green color that belies his courage, and another attendant dumps the bloom into a cup. It’s quiet as everyone in the room stares at the cup, waiting for… something.
Three minutes pass and still nothing happens, and you feel the tension that was lining your shoulders begin to loosen. Of course it wouldn’t work. Even if you had a soulmate, something as trivial as putting magic in a flower then letting it soak in hot water wouldn’t show you who your soulmate is.
You open your mouth to call off the experiment, but just as you do, the tea cup in front of you begins to bubble. Your mouth snaps shut with an audible click, and you lean back in your seat as the bubbling water starts splashing out of the sides of the cup. King Holdra gasps, leaping up from his seat to get a better look, and even the attendants stop to gawk at the strange sight.
Finally, a tiny head pops out of the liquid, seeming none the worse for wear as it briefly shakes deep blue droplets out of its hair, revealing a head of soft blonde lockes. Your eye twitches for a second, a sense of familiarity dropping in your stomach like a heavy stone.
“Is that… me?” A voice whispers beside you, though you wish it hadn’t. The small being manages to pull himself out of his teacup bathtub, shaking blue tea off of himself and glancing around before his eyes land on you. For a second, you hold your breath, not knowing exactly what sort of reaction the miniature hero will have towards you.
Whatever you were expecting, it wasn’t a smile filled with pure adoration followed by the little guy taking a running jump to land in your lap.
You bite your tongue to keep from screaming in terror and disgust, too used to the larger version of the same guy running at you with his blade in hand. What is going on. What the heck. No, actually, what the heck.
Before you can even manage to voice one of the millions of questions running through your mind, Links own teacup begins to bubble, and you stare in abject horror as a mini version of yourself manages to pull themselves out of the ceramic. The horror doubles as they immediately set their sights on Link, smiling in a dopey way that you would never ever show the hero and sweetly straightening out their clothes like a fawning child.
No way.
This can not be happening.
“In all my years, never did I ever think I’d come across a soul pair. And a soul pair that could both create their own soulbounds, why, I thought it was a near impossibility. The two of you have shown me something truly incredible tonight, and your story will be recorded in our history books.” King Holdra weeps, placing his hands on yours and Links shoulders, pulling the two of you in for a hug. So close to your mortal enemy, you manage to morph your face into one of pure hatred and loathing, and you find the hero mirroring your look, promises of misery and pain flickering in his eyes.
~~
“Throw him away! I don’t want your hands anywhere near me!” Link growls in your shared room. Apparently the king thought he’d give you and Link a head start on ‘getting to know each other’ after the soulmate reveal. You would literally rather die than spend a single night in the man’s vicinity.
“I would if I could, but the King expects us to have our soulbounds when we leave tomorrow. We’ve already come this far in our little farce, what’s one more night, soulmate?” You spit the word like it’s poison and Link flinches back, disgusted.
“Eugh, don’t call me that. I might actually throw up.” He gags like a toddler, placing a hand over his mouth to really sell the act. You roll your eyes and move to sit at the vanity in the room where you’d placed your soulbound. He scrambles to straighten himself out at your approach, fluffing up his hair and brushing his clothes down. Is that how Link acts when someone he admires approaches? That’s actually… kinda cu-
Nope. No, no, no. Nothing about Link could ever be ‘cute’, not even this mini version of him who seems to hold some affection for you.
Still, the little guy really doesn’t seem as bad as the man he’s based on. Maybe you can get him in some different clothes and he won’t look so much like your mortal enemy.
~~
With your attention turned away from Link, he’s able to finally get a better look at his soulbound. He knows you’re a person of many faces. It’s what makes you so good at your job. But the face this smaller version of you has on is something he’s never seen from you. Sweet and calm, the constant stiffness of their shoulders are relaxed for once, and it’s not because the princess reprimanded them for their tension, but rather…
Rather, because his presence seems to bring them enough calm for them to drop their guard.
Some of the green tinted tea this version of you emerged from is still dripping from their hair and clothes, and Link notices them starting to shiver. He spares a second to glance your way, but you seem focused on something over by the vanity. Link lets out a short huff before picking up the end of his scarf, patting them down and gently wrapping them in the soft fabric.
“Geez, always a trouble maker… Can’t even dry off correctly, can you?” Link murmurs, carefully wrapping the rest of his scarf around his soulbound until they’re safely nested in the fabric.
~~
You and Link meet in front of the carriages the next day, neither of you having slept in the provided bed but rather finding comfort on the carpeted floor. It was still more comfortable than the dirt and leaves you’d bed in during the war, so you both found yourselves well-rested and ready for the long trip to Labrynna.
King Holdra sees the two of you off from your carriages, seeming pleased you’re both still hanging onto your soulbounds as he coos over the little ones even as you and Link step onto your carriage and depart.
“What is he wearing.” Link grits out, nose scrunched in disgust as you place a protective hand in front of your soulbound to keep him from being tossed around by the rough carriage ride.
“What he wears is none of your business.” You sniff, then give your soulbound a critical once-over. He really does look good in the dark blue vestments you made for him. You had to tear apart one of your better tunics to get a fabric that would sit well on his small frame, but you couldn’t be prouder of the final product. “Peri is a true gentleman, and the outfit he’s wearing is indicative of his status; unlike somebody I know,” You let your eyes dully drag down the hero’s body, unimpressed with his hero’s tunic and slacks he chose to go with. Same old outfit you’ve seen him in a hundred times over.
“Peri?” Link asks, instead of falling for your bait. Too bad, you wanted to beat the dead horse that is his fashion sense.
“Short for Periwinkle. It’s the color of my magic. I thought it fitting, since that’s what he’s made of.” You shrug, hands feeling itchy at the almost… companionable conversation the two of you are having. Now that you think of it, you don’t think you’ve ever had a calm or even remotely pleasant chat with Link before.
“Did you come up with a name for the little me yet? Surely you can’t keep calling them by my name.” You raise an eyebrow in curiosity, even taking a moment to look around for them. He had them up until you entered the carriage, so where are they now?
“I heard it’s not a good idea to name strays. We’re getting rid of them once we leave Holodrum, why would I take the time to get to know them?” Link scoffs, not noticing as the very soulbound he was disregarding pops out of his scarf to gently pull at his earring.
“Hm. If that’s what you wanna believe. I think I’ll call them Sage.” You hum, then place Peri on your lap. He isn’t content to sit still for very long, and seems to take the sewing kit you set beside him as an invitation to explore, picking through your needles and threads for something to do.
“You know, it’s odd seeing someone with the nickname ‘Crusher’ sewing little outfits for their mortal enemy.” Link starts up as you line the inside of your latest project with cotton. It’s getting colder out, so you want Peri to have something warm. A puffy sweater should do the trick.
“Did you forget to pack entertainment?” You ask instead of answering him. Link is quiet for a moment before letting out a sigh.
“What, is it against ‘proper etiquette’ to make conversation?”
Glancing up, you notice Link pulling his gloves until the leather starts to crunch. He really did forget to bring something to do.
“Peri isn’t my enemy. As for that idiotic nickname… You crush a moblin with a barrier one time,” You grumble, irritated at the reminder of worse times. Desperate times. Times where something that was meant to protect instead had to be used to kill.
“Anyway. I was raised as a vassal to the royal family. My curriculum covered many different skills so I could help Hyrule’s royals with anything that may trouble them- wardrobe malfunctions included.” Tying off the last stitch on Peri’s coat, you flip it around in your hand to look for anything you might’ve messed up on. Once you see that it’s acceptable, you hold it out to your little companion, who quickly dons it and proceeds to pose for your viewing pleasure. What a little goober.
“Wait, are you actually having a conversation with me right now? No insults, no threats? Are you some sort of imposter?” Link asks, incredulous, and you feel something spasm at the corner of your eye.
“You asked to talk. I talked. Why must you make this harder than it has to be?” You grumble. He’s not wrong, of course. From the very beginning you’ve despised the man in front of you. At first, your anger was directed at everyone. Your charge disappeared seemingly out of thin air, and no one was able to tell you where she went. Zelda was gone and you lashed out. It’s unfortunate the first person you lashed out at was someone destined to be Hyrule’s Hero.
After that, it was a matter of consistency. You’re a person with many faces, and Link was unlucky enough to meet your ire. From then on, it would be the face he saw most often. Unfortunately, Link didn’t grow up with you like Zelda and Impa did. He didn’t understand you the way they did, and you didn’t realize that would become a problem until he finally lashed out at you himself.
The things he said that day… They hurt, but nothing he said was wrong. In that moment you understood there would be no changing your face after the war. The person he believed you to be was vile and hateful, a snake constantly wound and ready to spring.
Trying to get to know him now, after all this time of playing the villain… It makes sense he wouldn’t believe you, wouldn’t look past your shared history.
So, rather than explain yourself, defend your character or argue your innocence, you sigh, sitting back in your seat as the bumpy carriage ride continues in silence.
Link fiddles with his thumbs for a while, then lifts his hand for Sage to hop on it before digging around in his bag for some dried fruit he must’ve packed for the journey. Of course he would remember to pack food and not some form of entertainment.
He hands the miniature version of you some of the fruit, and you’re momentarily surprised to see your own face beaming up a crooked smile at the man. It’s been a while since you smiled like that, all teeth with a hint of mischief.
You stare for a while longer before remembering you were about to do something. Namely, make a coat for Sage so they’re warm during the journey to Labrynna. You already have the pattern marked out on the cloth you were planning on using- a pleasant dark green cotton that matches their namesake.
Taking up your scissors, you’re about to start cutting, but hesitate and look back up at Link. It’s not a lot, but something is better than nothing.
“Can you cut these for me? I’m making a coat for Sage.” You hold out the fabric and your shears, and Link lifts a quizzical eyebrow, but takes the offered materials regardless.
“What’re you gonna do in the meantime?” He asks, watching as you pull out a more durable, tan material.
“Gonna make the pattern for their pants, then you can cut them when I’m done.” You murmur, carefully tracing a design into the fabric.
The two of you work in silence for a while, switching materials and tools between eachother. You’re surprised when Link offers to embroider some designs into the finished product, and he explains he used to do it for his sister before the war. You end up with a small wardrobe for both of your soulbound companions, who seem to appreciate the gifts when you present them to them.
The two of you spent so long focused on your craft, you didn't even notice when your carriage pulling to a stop until one of the knights escorting the both of you pulled open the carriage door and announced that you’d arrived at your lodgings for the evening.
The moment you step off the carriage, Link walks past you, aiming to grab his luggage and quickly make his way to his room. You shuffle there for a second, twisting your hands with a nervousness you otherwise would’ve shoved deep down and masked with a face that was deadly calm and cold.
For once, though, you genuinely feel vulnerable. Link… He’s already seen your true face, even if it was through his soul bound. There’s nothing for you to really hide, now.
You can’t make this right, not in a single day. But you can try. Try to mend this relationship that you broke before it could even start.
“Link,” You start, and you might be reading into things, but he stops. Stops, turns around, and waits for you to continue. It’s not anything huge, but it feels like a step in the right direction.
Soulbloom Tea
(LU Four x Reader soulmate au where making tea out of a certain flower can show you your soulmate)
In a world where magic and monsters exist, it’s not so far fetched to believe that soulmates exist. Of course, everyone’s got their own take on how you can find them. Matching birthmarks, or fateful encounters- stuff like that.
There was no accurate way to find a soulmate- until a very special flower was discovered.
“You can’t seriously expect me to believe this soulmate nonsense.” You deadpan, staring down at the golden yellow flower sat innocently in front of you. When you lift your gaze just a bit, you see Zelda sitting in front of you, eyes bright with passion and anticipation.
“I know it sounds unreal, but you just have to try it! Steep the flower with some hot water, and I swear, your next dream will have your soulmate in it!” Zelda almost sounds like she’s begging, and you squint, suddenly suspicious of the princess’ knowledge.
“And you know this how..?”
A bead of sweat forms on the princess’ brow, and her eyes shift to look anywhere but at you.
“Aheh… You know, a princess is allowed to look for romance, too.” Your squint turns into a glare at her words, and your friend finally dips her head in shame.
“I know I shouldn’t have tried it without you or Link around, but I knew neither of you would’ve agreed! I feel I should be allowed to try things out on my own from time to time.” Zelda huffs, indignant at your silent reprimand.
“You may try stuff out on your own, but if this flower had been poisonous, or otherwise harmful, and neither Link or I knew you had chosen to ingest it, it would have made finding a cure harder.” You sigh, gently picking up the flower between your forefinger and thumb. It twirls gently, looking innocent, but as one of Zelda’s closest friends, and more importantly, the Royal Physician, it’s your job to be wary of foreign materials.
“Harder, but not impossible for the world's best doctor.” Zelda gives you a sly smile, and you preen under her praise.
“You flatter me, truly. As for what to do with this ‘soulbloom’ as you call it… I will study it for three days. If it turns out to be as innocent as you say, I’m willing to drink the tea.” You allow, sliding the flower into a glass tube to preserve it. Zelda seems to realize this is the best she’ll get out of you and drops the subject, moving on to other, more inane topics.
~~
“We’ve reached the final testing phase I’ve laid out for this ‘soulbloom’. A magic infusion from another living being. I’m curious to see the flowers reaction, as other magical stimuli have caused interesting changes in the flower. It’s especially affected by picolyte, changing color to the element presented to it. Could Hylian magic have a similar effect..?” You hum, jotting down some notes before approaching the innocent flower.
When you took it away from Zelda, it turned a pure white color, which was the basis for this line of inquiry, since you figured the princess’ history with the Light Force might’ve caused its original golden color.
“My own magic is not quite as strong as Princess Zelda’s, but it should be enough for my intentions here.” The glow of your magic is a soft, pale green, most likely because it was learned from the Minish found in Picori Forest. And just as you thought, the Soulbloom reacts, turning clover green.
“Interesting… I don’t have time for more testing- I told Zelda I’d drink it after three days of studying it, but I’m interested to know if this flower can act as some sort of conduit for magic. It may even be able to sense traps in dungeons, which may prove useful for Link.” Your cheeks start to heat up when you realize what you just said, and you briefly glance around to make sure there’s no one else in your lab.
You’ve kept your little crush on the hero of the Four Sword under careful lock and key- even Zelda doesn’t know about it, although she may have some guesses. Luckily, no one really bothers you when you’re in your lab, and you feel yourself relax.
Looking back at the Soulbloom, you suppose you won’t be able to stall any longer. A pot of water is quickly heated up, and you place the flower in a mug you keep around in case you need a caffeine fix. Hot water is poured over the green tinted flower, and you watch it steep for three minutes. It’s hard to tell through your darkly colored mug, but the tea seems to be an emerald green. Is that because the flower is still affected by your magic?
At the end of the steeping period, you pluck up the mug, but just before you take your first sip of the Soulbloom tea, the liquid starts to… bubble.
“What the-?!” You choke out, pulling the mug away from your mouth, staring wide-eyed as the liquid seems to boil. You panic, dropping your mug, and it lands on the floor with a loud thud. You’re vaguely impressed it didn’t shatter into a million pieces before a higher level of panic shoots down your spine as you notice something moving in the remnants of the liquid.
“Zelda didn’t tell me it would create a horror scene- what the heck is this!” You whisper shout, kicking away from the moving mass and up on top of your work table.
The thing climbs out of the frothy liquid, brushing green tinted tea off of itself and shaking its head like a dog, and you realize with a start that it looks suspiciously like Link. Was he… taking a nap in your mug, and you just didn’t notice until now?
“Oh Hylia I almost drowned my best friend,” You whisper in horror, leaping onto the ground with enough force to make the little hero stumble. Luckily, you’ve dealt with the mini hero enough times to quickly catch him and help him back onto his feet.
Usually, he’d either jokingly scold you for knocking him over, or give you a short thanks before going on his merry way.
You’re decidedly unprepared for the goofy smile he beams up at you and tender hug he offers your hand.
“Uh, Link? You feeling okay?” You smile awkwardly, gently taking your hand from his hold. He looks almost sad to see it go, but he soon recovers, looking up at you with a sincere gaze. He’s acting way more affectionate than you’ve ever seen him, especially given his recent close call with death.
Whatever the case is, he’s still not talking, so it must be a quiet day for him. You figure he’ll catch your attention if he really needs your help, and turn your attention to the mess on the floor.
You find a few rags lying around and set to work cleaning up the spill on the floor, only to pause when you feel a tug on the leg of your pants.
Link stares up at you, looking determined, then points to the rag in your hand.
“Do you want to help? Sure, I guess…” Shrugging, you hand over the rag, and Link begins the arduous challenge of cleaning up the spill while being the size of a mouse. You take it upon yourself to pick up the mug, only to find it empty. Where did the soulbloom go?
“Zelda’s gonna be so mad,” You groan, standing up to rinse the cup out. By the time you return, Link is only halfway done with the spill on the floor, and you stoop to help him finish up. He’s obviously a little irked, huffing and pouting when you push him away from the mess.
“You don’t want to see the princess while covered in tea, do you? Go wash up while I finish this.” He considers your words for a moment before stomping away to clean up. He’s acting so strange today, it’s kind of amusing.
Link returns, clothes clean and hair dripping. He seems to be waiting for something, and gets visibly upset when you try to walk towards the door. Link’s always been very independent, even when shrunk to the size of a minish, but for some reason, you get the feeling he wants you to carry him.
Your assumptions are proven correct when you offer a hand for him to climb on, and he readily hops aboard, taking the opportunity to scrabble up your arm and sit firmly on your shoulder. The way he grips onto your shirt for stability is actually pretty cute.
“You’re pretty clingy today, aren’t you?” You chuckle, gently cupping him with one of your hands to help keep him stable. Instantly, he nuzzles against your palm, and you fight valiantly against the heat threatening to color your cheeks.
Finally reaching Zelda’s room, you take a moment to prepare yourself for the scolding she’s about to give you before gently pushing open the door. Zelda’s sitting in her reading nook, not even glancing up at the sound of the door opening. Link glances up from his spot by her bookshelves, a wide grin crossing his face-
And then you slam the door shut, mind going a mile a minute.
That was Link in there. But Link is also currently sitting on your shoulder. You glance at the miniature Link on your shoulder, who is currently tracing the lines on your hand, and squint.
He’s a perfect replica, but he’s a little bit bigger than Link would be if he was the size of a minish. Less like a kangaroo mouse and more of the size of a small hamster.
What’s more, he’s clingy. Link never clings onto you, even on the rare occasion he’ll ask you for a ride. Not to mention the adoring looks he’s been giving you since the second he popped up. You highly doubt Link’s ever looked at you like that.
“Hey, you okay?” Link- the real Link- pokes his head out of Zelda’s room, smiling curiously at you as your hand closes around the little Link (who’s probably an imposter?) on your shoulder.
“N-Never better! I just, uh, forgot something! Back in my lab! Haha, how clumsy of me!” You laugh nervously, shoving your hand filled with a now-squirming mini Link into your coat pocket.
“I’ll walk with you to get it, then.” Link offers, already moving to step out of the room, but you rush to push him back inside, doing it with more force than you even realized you had. Link lands on his butt, looking up at you in surprise.
“No, no, no! I got it! I’ll be back in just a second!” You rush out, slamming the door behind you for a second time before taking off down the hall at break-neck speeds.
“By the three, ohhh Hylia what the heck is going on,” You mumble under your breath, slamming the door to your lab behind you and fishing through your coat pockets until tiny hands clutch your own, and you hurriedly but carefully pull the little guy out.
“You’re not Link.” You say as soon as he’s safely sat on your work table. He stares up at you in confusion, big beautiful eyes swirling purple and red.
“But obviously you can’t tell me who or what you actually are,” Groaning, you slam your head on the table, frustrated with the situation. Small hands pat your head, and you glance up to see imposter Link pointing towards your sink. You hesitantly shuffle over, but the only thing in the basin is the mug you were using for tea earlier.
Soulbloom tea.
Soulbloom tea that supposedly shows you who your soulmate is.
“You’re my..? How does that even work?” You whirl around, eyes wide as the land on- what, a miniature version of your soulmate? Why is your soulmate Link? Not that you’re upset about it, but this has got to be the craziest coincidence of your life.
Mini Link- goddesses you need to come up with a better name for him- smiles placidly, seeming content just being in your presence. The expression is adorable on him, but decidedly does not help the questions swirling through your mind.
Before you can attempt to make sense of the situation, your lab door busts open behind you. Link stands in the doorway, eyes landing on you, then slowly trailing to the mini version of himself sat on your table. His eyes turn a stormy, suspicious blue at the foreign being sitting in your room.
“Who’s this?” Link asks, voice light to put you at ease. You know that voice. He is not happy.
“Oh, y’know. Just a, uh, evolved form of minish. His name’s Clover.” You cough into your fist, a bead of sweat dotting your brow. Link’s eyes critically roam over his lookalike before snapping back towards you.
“I see. He should join us for tea, then. I’m sure Zelda would love to meet him.” Link's smile ticks up just a little bit more, but still doesn’t quite reach his eyes. You somehow get the feeling that you’re in trouble.
~~
Clover is clingy. If he’s not curled up in the palm of your hand, he’s sitting on your shoulder, tinkering with the small wires and odd gemstones he finds for himself. Whenever he gets tired, he’ll curl up on your chest and give you the biggest puppy dog eyes until you relent and settle down for a nap yourself.
Link’s behavior has changed since Clover popped up as well. He stays around the castle more, and seems more comfortable entering your lab. He’s also started bringing you little trinkets- flowers, jewelry, cutting utensils and other delicate lab equipment. It’s not like he’s never gifted you anything before, but the look in his eyes when he delivers his presents- it feels like there’s a silent promise behind each one of them.
Perhaps the strangest part of all of this is the fact that Link and Clover despise eachother. It’s a quiet, simmering hate that bubbles just beneath their calm exteriors, mirrored expressions of cobalt blue eyes and twitching smiles that don’t sit quite right on their faces.
It’s hard to understand what’s going on when the two seem determined to keep their grudge as quiet as possible, so you kind of just… ignore them.
“I need to head to Minish Village to drop some stuff off to Ezlo,” You announce to no one in particular. Two heads of straw blonde hair lift up, and soon, you find yourself marching through Minish Woods with Clover on your shoulder and Link walking slightly ahead of you, his sword drawn to take care of any chuchus that may try to block your path.
When you make it to the stump that will let you enter Minish Village, you set Clover down in front of it before stepping on top of the portal, hand in Link’s hand, and recite the spell that will shrink you to the size of a Minish.
Clover lights up as soon as he sees you walk out of the tree stump, running over to grab your hands in his and twirl you around a couple times. You giggle at his behavior, letting yourself be spun for a moment before Link clears his throat, taking your other hand and dragging you off towards Minish Village.
The trip to Ezlo’s is fast, and you happily accept his invitation to stay for tea and berries. He’s obviously curious about Clover, but you still don’t want to reveal what he truly is, and all Link has to say about him are insults.
You’re halfway through your cup of tea when Colver pulls a ring made out of braided wires and inlaid with multicolored gemstones. He presents it to you, smiling shyly in the way Link does when he’s particularly proud of his work and waiting for a bit of praise.
“This is gorgeous, Clover! I’m impressed,” You grin and move to put it on, only to pause at the feeling of forge-worn fingers wrapping around your hand.
“That’s-“ Link stares at the ring, then at Clover, and finally his eyes land on you. It’s like he can’t quite comprehend what’s going on, a full-blown frown finally crossing his face.
“Link?” You ask, running a thumb over his knuckles in hopes of soothing him. He recoils, taking his hands away from you like you’d burned them, and stumbles back a couple of steps.
“I need to go. Uh- Sorry.” Link manages to choke out, looking nearly sick before turning on his heel and sprinting out of Ezlo’s cottage. You’re too stunned by his actions to react for a time, but quickly shake yourself back to attention, calling out for him to wait while struggling to hop off of your toadstool chair.
By the time you get out of the house, Link is nowhere in sight, and you bite your lower lip in worry.
~~
“He’s me. At first, I thought he was a shadow, a smaller one that managed to survive the dark mirror shattering or… I don’t know. You didn’t react negatively towards him, so I thought it was fine, but if he’s literally me I guess it makes sense you wouldn’t be worried.” Link drags his hands through his hair, looking about ready to rip some out. Zelda smiles calmly, lightly amused by the situation.
“He- He made them a ring. The ring. Y’know.” Link huffs, peeking up at his best friend. This, at least, seems to surprise her.
“Every single part of me has always wanted to give that ring to them. It would’ve symbolized the culmination of- of everything I’ve ever felt for them. The longing, the devotion, every ounce of care and love I could offer them. It was just never quite right. The shape, the gemstones, the timing, the state of my own mind. Who would’ve thought a part of me I never even knew existed would be the one to finally give it to them.” Link sighs, disappointed. Regretful.
“Curious. It seems a soulbound is more courageous than someone who carries the title of ‘The Hero of Hyrule’.” Zelda hums, eyes twinkling with mirth.
“A soulbound?” Link asks, peeking up at the princess.
“That would be the term for what Clover is. When one infuses magic with a soulbloom and pours hot water over it, a soulbound is created- a small version of the magic user's soulmate. It takes on the soulmate's personality, and is a way for you to get to know your soulmate before meeting them.” Zelda explains, watching her friend puzzle over her words. He seems to be stuck on the word soulmate, muttering it under his breath a few times before seeming to come to a realization.
“Wait- soulmate?! You mean they’re my-“ Link gasps, eyes wide and heart beating faster in his chest.
Zelda doesn’t bother responding, one eyebrow lifting to goad the hero into thinking for himself.
Link, however, is a man who uses his critical thinking about twenty five percent of the time.
The other seventy five percent?
“I have to go.” He stands, rattling the table as he does and sprints for the door. Link tends to act before he thinks.
~~
You didn’t end up finding Link. If anything, he found you, having seemingly searched you out from wherever he’d retreated. His cheeks are flush from running, hair mussed and eyes wild as he approaches you.
“I- Sorry for running out on you earlier.” Link starts, scratching the back of his head guiltily.
“It’s fine, you just surprised me.” You wave him off, then realize you don’t have anything else to say. Link takes your moment of silence to start talking.
“Zelda told me what exactly Clover is. What he means to you. To us.” You feel your heart start to beat a bit harder, thudding loudly in your ears. He knows?
“I- I never really thought about who my soulmate would be. Someone with a fate like mine… Well, I never thought I’d live long enough to meet them.” Link admits, curling the fabric over his chest in a white-knuckled grip.
“I especially never thought fate would give me you.” He breathes out, finally looking you in the eyes. You feel your cheeks heat up at the intensity of his stare, eyes a deep passionate ruby color.
“I have something for you. It’s- you don’t have to accept it, but it would make me happy if you at least considered it.” Link steps forward, releasing his shirt and adjusting his grip on something in his hand. He boldly steps into your space, so close you can feel the warmth radiating off of him, and grabs your hand. Something warm and metallic is placed in your palm, and you barely manage to tear your eyes away from the man in front of you to see the delicately made ring he gave to you.
It looks exactly like the one Clover gave to you earlier, but seems to be worn down. Link must’ve had this for years, constantly considering the piece, thumbing over it whenever he saw you, clutching it close during his adventures in hopes of keeping it safe. It’s beautiful, and the love that has been poured into it is clear.
Link’s breath catches in his throat when you slip the ring on. He knew it would fit you. He’d taken careful measurements to ensure it would, but somehow, seeing it on you now after so long hoping and dreaming he’d be able to give it to you-
“You’re beautiful.” He breathes, an overwhelming emotion that must be love filling his chest. You giggle, taking his hands in yours and leaning forward slightly. He doesn’t even process the kiss you press to his lips until you’re pulling away, nervously covering the lower half of your face in embarrassment.
“You’re not so bad yourself,” You giggle at the stunned look on the hero’s face, only to yelp when he grins and pulls you forward, placing a long, loving kiss on your lips.
Linked Universe now has its own canonized fandom tag!
This is absolutely amazing, because it makes it easier for us to find each other’s work, and easier for non-LU people to filter by exclude. But there is a small hiccup, a baby little problem. Allow me to explain.
Previously, the advice was given that since there was no canon fandom tag, that works should *also* be tagged with Linked Universe as an additional tag. This tag has over 8k works in it! Damn!
But… the new canonical fandom tag only has 4k works in it. Why? Because about half of the fandom was not using the fandom tag, only the additional tag.
I knew this day was coming, so I tagged LU as the fandom, which paid off! All my fics are now neatly sorted. But if you didn’t preemptively tag a non-canonized fandom… your fics are now a bit lost and unsorted.
This is your notice to go open those works up and fix the tags!
Okay everyone this has been your tag wrangler PSA and GO US!
Def gonna have to go update some tags now 😅 either way, this is exciting!!
Nobody
Notes: Dark Link x Reader with some past Link x Reader implied. Honestly I have no clue what this is but it’s definitely based on Nobody by Crane Wives
Something wakes you up in the middle of the night. Some feeling of wrongness, knowledge deep seated in the back of your mind that tells you you’re being watched. That something is hunting you. Your mind screams for you to run but a hand wraps around your middle before you can even move, drawing you closer to the predator person sharing your bed with you.
“Nightmare?” A soft voice whispers against the sensitive flesh at the back of your neck. You fight down a shiver, but you know it can feel the goosebumps freckling every inch of your skin. It’s too late to pretend to be asleep. Too late to play dead.
“…Yes. It was, um, about the shed.” You whisper into the dark of your room. Somehow, the inky abyss beyond your bed is more comforting than whatever has placed itself at your back.
“I see… Did I not show you there was nothing in there earlier today?” There’s a growl in its voice, a warning, a threat. You sag like dead prey caught in a wolf’s jaw, hoping it will appease the presence in your bed.
“You did.”
“And the day before? And every day for the last week.” Its voice feels like needle sharp pins stabbing at every pressure point on your body, and you can’t decide if you should slump further or lock every muscle to keep from drawing its ire.
“…You did. I’m sorry.” And, although it makes you sick, although everything in your body tells you to kick and lash out and run run run until the threat is gone, until it can never touch you again, you delicately place your hand over the one around your middle. You pray it can’t feel your pulse running a mile a minute.
“Ah, you know I can’t stay mad at you my love. Try to get some more rest, the sun isn’t even up yet.” It whispers, tone sweet at spun sugar, and you slump like deadweight, a glaze overtaking your vision until the odd shadows in the windows are nothing but shapeless blobs. You think, for one desperate and crazed second, that if you faced the monster like this, you might even be able to mistake it for him.
~~
Bacon sizzles and pops on the stove, the oil hissing up at you threateningly. You stare it down, feeling a speckle of burning hot liquid land on your cheek, but it’s somehow less painful than the nails digging into your shoulders.
“Such a wonderful partner, making breakfast for us to share…” It sings in his cadence, and you swear every day its voice gets closer and closer to his. You ignore the wretched and ugly part of you that tells you you’re actually just forgetting his voice.
“S-Speaking of, it may be time for another grocery run.” You mumble, glancing at the last bits of meat you have stored. The creature lets you keep chickens and a cow for milk and eggs, and you keep a garden that produces the fruits and vegetables you eat, but all of the meat in the house is hunted, skinned, cured and given to you by the creature.
It huffs, releasing your shoulders to check your supplies over itself. Everything in order. Nothing wasted. You know better, by now.
“I’ll go on a hunting trip today, then. You know the rules for when I’m out.” It growls, sitting in his seat, and you try not to flinch as it creaks under familiar weight. Almost the same, but you just know that something is off. It has to be.
“I remember,” Your sentence finishes prematurely. It always feels like you’re missing something. A name. A sweet word. Some sort of acknowledgment of what it is. What it means to you.
For whatever reason, acknowledgment is the only thing it has never forced out of you. This whole relationship, all the rules, secrets and lies- It acts like a child playing house with a doll, but despite all the power it holds over you, despite policing every action you take throughout every day, it has never forced you to call it by any name.
Perhaps it’s waiting for you to acknowledge it all on your own. One day, you know you’ll have to.
That doesn’t make you any less scared of what will come out of your lips when that day finally comes.
~~
“You waited up for me.” It sounds surprised, pleased in a way that makes you tremble and choke up. You wish it wouldn’t sound like him. You wish you didn’t need it to sound like him.
“I-“ You stop short, not sure if an excuse or dismissal was on your tongue. Both would be lies, and you both would know it.
The truth of the matter is that you did wait for him. You waited all night, and well past when the first rays of light started glimmering on dew covered leaves. You can’t even say that you tried not to. The thought of going to bed, alone, with your back to the door and glazed eyes focused on the shadows in your window was too much.
You would feel too alone.
“I did.” You finish, and revel in your guilt long enough for it to cross the room and catch you in its too-soft hands. Weren’t they supposed to belong to a predator? Weren’t you supposed to be ripped apart at the seams?
“I’m sorry I made you wait. Let me get cleaned up and we can go to bed, my love.” He whispers softly, lips pressed to the crown of your head. You try not to think about how intimate the action is. You try to remind yourself that you’re using him. He’s just a replacement. A shadow of the man you truly wish to wait up for and cuddle close to in the mornings.
The shadow skips off more giddily than you’ve ever seen him, and the haze that comes with the tears welling in your eyes really does make him look like Link, if only for a second.
~~
“What’s your name?” It’s a late morning, and you’re both still bundled up in bed, your head tucked against a chest that lacks a pulse but pressed into a body that’s so warm and real it’s hard to argue the opposite.
“You know my name, love.”
You do. You wish you didn’t. You wish he was him.
“…You’ll let me call you whatever I want, though, right?” You already know the answer. He knows that you know the answer. He tells it to you anyway.
“Yes, my love. Anything you want.”
You don’t say anything for a long time. He’s not Link, no matter how much he tries to imitate him. And you can’t see him as Link, even if you let your eyes haze over and decide to ignore reality for the rest of your life.
But he’s close.
His shadow, practically.
The dark side that Link refused to show you, a predator waiting to pounce.
“…Dink.” You call out, and he shivers, otherworldly and wrong but too beautiful for you to look away for even a second.
“Yes, my love?”
“Will you tell me… what happened to him?”
What should you bring to the Spring Picnic?
Salad
Fruit Pie
Skewers
Grilled Fish
Similar to the Luau in Stardew Valley, you can bring an item to the Spring Picnic. Certain characters will like different items more than others, but you won’t lose points even if you bring something someone doesn’t like. This is just a chance to score extra points with your favorite people :)

(Note: It always feels like a gamble trying to guess what characters will like and what they’ll hate. Fortunately, rumors are commonplace in Hateno, thanks to Amira and Nikki. They won’t always have relevant information, so you may have to direct their conversation towards something more interesting.)
Chapter 4 : Gifts
You enter East Wind with a bit of pep in your step, excited to grab the seeds you ordered on the first day, only to grunt as a heavy body shoulders past you, and you rub your sore arm, glaring behind you as a familiar figure saunters further into the village.
“Was that Manny? Just as rude as the last time I saw him.” You huff, closing the door to the general store behind you. Ivee lets out a drawn out sigh, pinching the space between her brows as you walk up to her counter.
“Unfortunately yes. He’s been coming here non stop since Prima turned him down. He’s treating me as a ‘rebound’ even though he never had Prima’s affections in the first place.” Ivee rolls her eyes before reaching under her counter for your order. You greedily take the seeds, stuffing them in your bag while letting out a sympathetic hum.
“If you need help taking care of him, just call me over. I don’t want him causing you any trouble.” You offer, and Ivee smiles gratefully.
“I appreciate the sentiment, but I can handle myself just fine.” Ivee assures. The two of you talk for a little while longer, discussing other things that have been going on in the village. Ivee mentions the upcoming Spring Picnic, and you suddenly remember that it’s Sophie’s birthday. You and Ivee fret over the nearly forgotten celebration before hurriedly waving eachother off, moving to get a decent present for the nervous seamstress.
You’re lucky you got that rabbit fur from Twilight a couple days ago as you rush home, pulling an old spinning wheel out of storage and moving to process it into a thread. You would’ve preferred to give your old friend some actual cloth, but she’ll appreciate the thread just fine. Since you’re already at your farm, you take some time to plant your new crop, watering everything before noticing the turnips and tulips Time gave you are fully grown and ready to be harvested. That’s faster than usual, and you wonder if they’ve been bred to produce faster. Either way, you happily gather the spring crops, tucking them into your bag to be used as gifts later.
Before long, you find yourself stepping up to Ventest Fashion Parlor, and you wipe your sweaty hands on your pants, praying to the golden three that Cece isn’t lurking within, waiting to pounce on you.
Blessedly, it’s just Sophie and her dad Seldon inside, and they both greet you as you stumble in.
“Happy Birthday, Sophie!” You cheer, placing the wrapped rabbit thread in Sophie’s hands.
“T-thank you for remembering… I really like this.” Sophie smiles shakily, pulling the thread from the bag. You’re happy to see she’s still interested in her craft despite the trauma that probably came with Cece invading her shop.
“Stay strong, Sophie.” You pat her on the shoulder in solidarity, and she practically collapses under the weight of your hand. Cece’s shrill voice calls out from somewhere in the back, and you feel your blood drain in an instant before hurriedly exiting the shop, barely stopping to wave good-bye to your friend as you go.
~~
You want to grab a couple more things to start making gifts for everyone who’s helped you out lately, and end up making your way towards the entrance to the town where Warriors and Wild are standing around talking. They’re both in travel gear with weapons strapped to their backs, and you ask if they’re going on a patrol soon.
“Yeah. We’re heading towards Fort Hateno to check on the defences and clear out any monsters getting too close to the main roads. You’re welcome to join us.” Wild smiles, and you gratefully accept. The boys wait for you to adjust your inventory before heading out, and you soon find yourself on the road to Fort Hateno.
Along the way, Wild helps you find forageables like mushrooms, herbs, nuts, fruits and vegetables. They don’t always have the best quality, but they could still make some decent meals, and the extras could be sold or processed for seeds.
Warriors is more focused on the monsters, slicing down any in his way and taking the opportunity to teach you a few more tricks when it comes to dealing with them. By the time you get back to Hateno, your bag is filled to the brim, and Wild offers to let you use his kitchen despite the tavern being closed.
You agree to his offer, but ask if you can go later. There’s a few things you still need to do, and this whole excursion would’ve been for nothing if you don’t have the right information on what to give everyone.
With a time set for you to go visit Wild, you know you have exactly two hours to gather the information you need, and you know exactly who to talk to.
Amira and Nikki were the town gossips, even back when you were just a kid running around swinging a stick through the air. Of course, there’s no guarantee they’ll be talking about what you need to hear at the current moment, so you’ll need to put on a bit of a show to get the conversation rolling.
Amira’s pointed ears perk at the dreamy sigh you puff out as you pass in front of the well the ladies are currently gathered around, sharp eyes quickly tracking the contemplative look on your face and nervous fidgeting of your hands. The stage is set, now all the older woman has to do is play her part.
“What has you all worked up, farmer? You look like a nervous puppy!” Amira calls out, beckoning you forward.
“Oh, Mrs.Amira, I didn't see you there. I was just thinking about one of our new neighbors… He’s, uh, really cute, so…” You laugh, nervously rubbing the back of your neck. The woman gets a gleeful glint in her eye at the new information, and her smile wobbles at the corners, obviously trying to keep from becoming a devious grin.
“I see, I see~ Young people have so much time to fall in love these days, don’t they, Nikki?” Amira snickers, waving a dismissive hand your way. You rub the back of your neck sheepishly before walking off towards the river, only to duck behind the next closest house to hear where the conversation turns from there.
“The little farmer has a crush, eh? Who do you think it could be?” Amira whispers furiously once you’re out of sight.
“It must be the healer! I heard they went to visit him even though they weren’t injured- and get this, they even agreed to share a meal with him!” Nikki murmurs to her friend, covering her mouth as if that might mute the scandal slipping past her lips. Amira eats the information right up, eyebrows shooting up her forehead in consideration.
“Do you think their bag was filled with treats, then? I hear that boy has quite the sweet tooth!”
“Perhaps. Although, I noticed some fruits and vegetables peeking out. Perhaps they were looking to seduce the chef? A man like him would certainly appreciate some fresh produce to cook with.”
“Ahh, but you have to think about how they got those ingredients. They haven’t been here long enough to grow all of that, so they must’ve gone out with the monster hunters. If the kid had any sense at all, they’d know how gorgeous the monster hunter leader is.” Amira puffs some air, getting worked up with the conversation. Obviously she thinks she’s found out who you have a crush on, but Nikki isn’t as convinced.
“If they wanted to seduce that man, their time would’ve been much better spent in the mines, digging up metals to make him some weapons or armor. Hylia knows the man can’t get enough of that stuff.” Amira seems properly cowed by her friend’s swift rebuttal, but is soon reinvigorated by a new line of questioning.
“If not that womanizer, then perhaps the rancher he always patrols with? I hear he can be quite the foodie- pumpkins and ordonian products in particular are always a hit with him. I still haven’t gotten to try Wild’s pumpkin stew seeing as the rancher buys him out as soon as the item appears on the menu.” The woman huffs, obviously upset at the predicament, and you sense a shift in the ladies’ discussion as they move on to talk about seasonal items on Wild’s menu.
Looks like that’s all the information you’ll get out of them today, but it’s more than enough. You have about an hour until Wild expects you at his tavern, which gives you some time to sort out your bag and pick up some ingredients before heading over.
You don’t have anything Warriors would be interested in, so you file away his preferences for a later time. You do have plenty of raw ingredients Wild should like, and stuff to bake a berry pie and a classic ordonian cheese soup shouldn’t be too hard to get. You stop by East Wind to pick up flour, sugar and ordonian cheese then head back to Wild’s Tavern to finally work on your gifts.
Wild is ecstatic when you offer him a small basket filled with some of your higher quality forageables, and quickly corrals you into his kitchen after thanking you for the thoughtful gift. You’re able to make the pie and soup with minimal mishaps, and clean up before taking off, leaving the tavern to go drop off the pie at the clinic and the soup with Twilight.
“Hey, Hyrule! Working on your herbs?” You hum as you walk up to the clinic. The healer is crouched amongst some bushes filled with herbs and different bugs that must’ve been attracted by the fragrant plants.
“Yep! My first crop of Heart Flowers are ready, so I’ll need to hurry up and pick them before the bugs get to ‘em. And after, I’ll need to rush to make some healing potions before they go bad.” Hyrule grins, waving a plump red heart flower your way. They’re herbs with incredible healing properties that regrow daily. The downside is that they only last one day after they’ve been harvested, so you can’t sell them by themselves as an ingredient.
“They look lovely. The Heart Flower seeds you gave me the other day should be producing soon, so ask me if you ever need extras, and I’ll rush them over.” You offer, leaning down in the dirt next to the man and gathering a couple of the ripe flowers to help him with the process. Hyrule hums a thankful note, and the two of you stand up once a majority of the flowers have been gathered.
“Oh! Before I forget, I baked you a pie.” You grin, taking the pie out of your bag and offering it to the man. He lights up, eyes practically sparkling as he looks at the berry filled confection.
“You really made this for me?! Wow, it looks delicious!” Hyrule hugs the pie to his chest before wrapping an arm around your shoulders in a quick side hug. He seems excited to head inside and start eating, so you excuse yourself, asking him to tell you how it turned out the next time you see him.
Next is Twilight, who you find in the middle of a delivery to East Wind.
“Farmer! Good to see ya.” Twilight greets, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow as he stops to speak to you.
“Working hard, I see.” You nod towards his loaded cart, but your eyes catch on the brown horse pulling the wagon. She’s gorgeous, deep brown eyes and silvery white mane framing her face. “And who is this gorgeous creature?” Your voice jumps up a couple octaves as you skirt around the rancher, marveling at the mare.
“That’d be Epona. She’s my most loyal companion.” Twilight smiles, patting his horse’s flank affectionately. You coo at her, gently running your fingers through her well brushed coat.
Twilight lets you marvel at his horse for a while longer before you realize you’re probably keeping him from his job. “Sorry, I don’t want to keep you long. I made you some ordonian cheese soup, thought you could have it for dinner seeing as it’s getting late.” You offer, holding out the wrapped up soup. Twilight’s eyes light up in excitement, and he greedily squirrels away the soup.
“That was real thoughtful of you, darlin’. I’ll eat it once I get home.” Twilight grins at you, and you notice his canines are a little sharper than usual. That’s… kinda hot. You decide to not mention it.
“No problem. I’ll let you get back to work now; see you later.” You wave the ranch hand off, feeling good about the work you got done for the day.
As you make your way back home, you take the time to consider the Spring Picnic tomorrow, and wonder what you should bring for the festivities.

Succubus Reader HC
Sky
As previously stated, he tastes like Mint and Chamomile
He thinks that you smell like ginger
One day you ask to ‘sleep’ with him and the man goes completely red, not realizing you’re asking to nap together
A nap is just as good as sex in his humble opinion, so he doesn’t mind but boy if he wasn’t going through a mental checklist of all the ways he hoped you’d have him
He likes to carve little trinkets for you, which act almost like sacrifices and end up empowering you. No one is sure how this works but Sky vows to keep gifting you stuff, if only for the way you light up at each new carving
He’s trying to create a song for you, too, but is too embarrassed to show you the progress
Sky LOVES it when you sit next to him while he works on his hobbies. He doesn’t need any sort of deep conversation or for you to join him in his hobbies. Just knowing that you’re there beside him is enough.
Four
He kinda tastes like fruit punch. Specifically, green apple, strawberry, passion fruit and blue raspberry (yes I know that’s not an actual plant, I’m just talking abt the flavor). Sour and a lil sweet
He thinks you smell like cherries
He has to fight everyone else from sleeping with you after everyone gets closer to you.
Is a little too happy to get to spend every night in your arms
After a while I think he actually has a hard time sleeping without you, and he gets super clingy when it’s time to get up and start getting ready
One day you give up on trying to wake him up and just kinda wrap him in a cocoon and drag him around all morning
He thinks that your body is perfectly made to display any type of armor, jewel or weapon and often crafts ornamental pieces to outfit you with. Wishes sometimes that you’d walk around in nothing but the thin chains and hanging jewels he makes for you but understands that’s behavior better kept in the bedroom
Wild
Tastes like lemon/lime soda and pop rocks. It’s always a surprise when you first taste him
Thinks you smell like green apple (specifically green apple jolly ranchers but I don’t think Wild even knows what those are)
He’s more or less gotten over being embarrassed while cooking your food. Unfortunately, now that you’re more comfortable around him, the teasing is endless
You’ll sit right next to him when he cooks, hover behind him, place kisses and love bites to his shoulder while he’s trying to concentrate. It’s inconvenient but Wild would never ask you to stop
You always have nothing but praise to say about his food, and Wild is beginning to learn that he has a praise kink
Twilight
Twilight tastes like Thai tea boba
He thinks that you smell like spiced milk
Usually, the two of you walk together during your travels. He likes to talk to you about his home, and wonders if you’d join him there once this adventure is over
It turns out his soul is easier for you to take due to his experience with the Twilight Realm, so you’re especially careful when touching him. He’s disappointed in the differing treatment and acts like a kicked dog until you give in and pet him or cuddle with him
You’re still not the most social person, so Twilight usually walks with you when you go into town, scary dog privileges type beat
Loves to call you his partner/ lover in front of strangers
Time
tastes like pomegranate and those like aloe Vera drinks?
Thinks you smell like jasmine
Is worried that you’re starving yourself when you’ve got eight strapping men fawning over you that would happily let you feed off of them
And so he does something about it (*cough* offers to go to third base *cough*)
You’re surprised, of course, but Time frames it as a more casual thing to make you comfortable. He little knows that you can literally taste how into it he is.
You have his soul in every way but in name, and when you tell him as much, he just fills with pure arousal
Idk he’s a freak in this one, leaning a little into Yandere territory
Hyrule
Tastes like honey
Think you smell like honey
Interestingly, when a demon smells exactly how their prey tastes, it’s considered to be the closest thing to a ‘soulmate’ they can find.
One would think this is a big deal, but it just means you can feed on Hyrule as many times as you want without taking his soul
Also you get strangely protective of him, especially in the presence of other demons
This goes the other way around though, in Hyrule’s case, he can sense your near soulmate status because ✨fairy magic✨ and is both confused and infatuated
He never expected to be soulmates with a demon, but you’re nice, and you smell good, and that thing you do with your hands? God, it’s divine
Y’all are so horny for eachother but often too nervous to act on it, making for some comical and tension filled moments
Warriors
Tastes like an Arnold Palmer (lemonade + iced tea)
Thinks you smell like peach tea
Ever since getting closer to you, he’s become super protective
He’s used to his partners or love interests getting chased off by Cia and refuses to let it happen again
I feel like he’d be clingy- always has a hand on your waist or the small of your back. Sometimes he’ll drag his hand over your more sensitive spots to send shivers up your spine
He’s got this smirk that makes you either want to shake him or make out with him.
Lets you borrow his scarf sometimes. Will never admit the things it does to him
Legend
tastes like apple cider
Thinks you smell like caramel
After the two of you get closer, he’s all over you
Always touching you in some way, always watching where you’re going, always thinking about you even when he’s trying to sleep
There’s no chance of monsters even getting close to you because Legend always takes care of them before they get the chance
I’ve always been in love with the HC that he adorns his loved ones with protective items, so that’s just what he does. What he does not expect is for you to reciprocate with protective enchantments of your own
It’s like a constant back and forth between the two of you, Legend gives you a ring, you summon a protective jewel, then Legend commissions a weapon for you, and you draw a line of runes up his arm and decide to not tell him what they do
He reeks of you and your magic and you’re laden with his jewelry and tools.
Remedy for Invisibility
(This is inspired by Moomin (1990)’s An Invisible Friend. The concept of turning invisible due to neglect and a lack of care from those around you has always hit close to home for me. I also wanted to try my hand and the more whimsical, more descriptive tone Moomin stories tend to have. This could be just about any Link, I believe, so I’ll leave it up to your interpretation.)
~~
When Link was younger, after his parents had passed and their memory faded, Link began to feel invisible.
He had nobody, and had no purpose. He disappeared the same day that his parents did, and nobody was the wiser to where he went.
Life is hard when you are an invisible child. Nobody makes you food or helps you dress, everyone is so busy with their own work so why would they pay any attention to a thing without a form?
Link had thought he would spend the rest of his life in that state.
He very nearly did, until he met another invisible child.
You were adjusted to a life of invisibility, more so that Link ever thought he would be. You were quiet. No, it was more like you had lost your voice right along with your form, and for the first time Link realized he didn’t know where his voice had gone, either.
Soon, though, he realized he didn’t need the same sounds that visible people could make. You tied a bell around where his wrist might have been, then took his hand and kept walking. Each step he took, the bell would clink and rattle in tandem with yours, a constant reminder that you were there and that he was with you.
He didn’t need to tell you when he grew hungry, or when he needed rest. You seemed to know, and you would procure fruits and veggies from the world around you, then settle on the ground while the two of you ate.
Link began to forget that he was invisible, and in fact there were times where he would catch sight of your hair bouncing with each of your steps, or the tinkling of your bells would translate as laughter in his mind, and for those short instants, he would forget that you were invisible as well.
It seemed the more he forgot, the more tangible he became. Your hands were nearly always connected now, small fingers intertwined as you walked side by side. One day you remarked about his golden hair, and neither of you spared a second thought at the sound of your voice.
It was in this way that someone who he thought was just as invisible as him became someone real and tangible and loud and wonderful. It was in a similar but wholly different way that he became someone real and distinct and bright and beautiful.
The two of you didn’t care if no one else could see you. You could see eachother, could hear eachother. It was all either of you needed.
Succubus Reader Pt.2
(Honestly this has been consuming my brain. I was trying to work on literally any other project but I kept coming back to this AU idea so I gave in and wrote some more for it lol. Also Silver Lining by Laufey is all I hear when I think of this AU [also also the second half of this part was heavily inspired by A Night To Remember by Laufey and Beabadoobee]. Anyway. Thank you @doodle-with-rhy for requesting more, and let’s get into it!)
(Warnings: NSFW, minors dni. Scent kink (?) Somnophilia (??) idk tell me if I need to add anything else)
crack and suggestive(?) request but BUT!!!! succubus/incubus reader who got thrown out of hell and up into the human realm bc they srsly have no game and is actually. a loser, even with the help of their uncontrolled tempting scent (or anything succubi and incubi alike have that would naturally have ppl drawn to them regardless of their appearances) to the point they weren't even considered by their kind as their own so now as some way to get themself back down in hell again, reader found themself a group of heroes (aka the chain) and finally decided to (stubbornly) accompany them on their journey despite almost getting mistaken by the chain at first as part of dark link's army (you can decide what's the reasoning on why reader accompanied the chain whether they wanted to prove themselves worthy of being a succubus/incubus and have their ass back down in hell or js wanting to tag along bc they absolutely do NOT know the human realm rlly well)
this is an idea of mine so seeing as requests are alloweddd, it would be rlly interesting to see a scenario of their first meeting w/ reader and ANDD some shenanigans that would occur once the chain finally got used to succubus/incubus reader and even considered them one of their ownn!!
BUT PLS DON'T FEEL PRESSURED TO WRITE THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO😭😭😭 THANK YOU NONETHELESS WHETHER YOU DO MY REQUEST OR NOT!!
(Honestly as soon as I read this my mind was flooded with ideas on what to write, I wouldn’t mind making some more parts for it lol)

So. You got kicked out of hell.
You didn’t even think that was a possibility, but here you are, sitting on the side of a dusty street with nothing but the very minimal clothes on your back and the mission to corrupt and devour at least eight souls before returning to the eternity of damnation you call Home.
All in all, things are not looking very good for you. See, you’re a succubus. Y’know, a seduction demon. But you’ve got no game. Absolutely none. You’ve never seduced a person in your life, even people with absolutely zero standards. You thought you’d just be able to coast by for the most part- you weren’t consumed with a thirst for power and domination like most of your kin- Asmodeus’ idea of a joke, you’re sure, but not a fun one as you’re practically a regular human with some stronger than average pheremones and a high sex drive that does nothing for the crippling awkwardness you experience whenever you’re in the presence of someone even moderately attractive.
“They could’ve at least let me bring a change of clothes, damn.” You sigh, running a clawed hand through your hair as you glance down at your cropped tank and short shorts. Loungewear, you think, is not going to cut it in whatever realm they threw you into.
“A traveler! They seem lost.” A young voice draws your attention, and you cut a look towards where it came from. A group of nine travellers, a kid and eight extremely good-looking men. As subtly as you can, you shake your fist at the ground, internally cursing Asmodeus for what must be another one of his jokes.
Maybe you can just walk past them, all casual-like. Afterwards, you can find a town or something and get a room, maybe look for a job scrubbing dishes. That’d be nice. Heck, it might be even better than the setup you had down in hell.
“Hey, I think their eyes just turned red. Kinda like the Shadow-” One of the men mutters, and you feel a bead of sweat appear on your brow. That doesn’t sound good.
“Now that you mention it, they do kind of look monstrous.” Another one points out, setting a finger under his chin consideringly. Wow. Rude. Not ‘Cute’ not ‘Sexy’, hell, not even ‘normal’. ‘Monstrous’.
“Should we… Fight them? I mean, they’re kinda just standing there not doing anything. It would feel wrong to, y’know, go in swords drawn, but they’re very obviously a monster.” A different one pipes up. You scowl in his general direction, offended. These guys are really just talking about you to your face, and what’s worse, they’re now threatening violence on your person.
“Maybe we should take them hostage. They look intelligent, so the Shadow might value them.” The one wearing a too-big scarf suggests, and the rest mumble their agreements.
You always pictured yourself getting tied up by a good looking man, but not like this. No, not like this.
“They’re surprisingly well behaved. What’s your purpose?” One of them asks- a man with unruly blonde hair tied at his neck and a blue tunic covering his torso.
“Oh so you ask me something like that now, after you’ve tied me up?” You ask, rolling your eyes in exasperation. The man has the decency to flush in embarrassment, and you snicker at his blushing cheeks. Your voice does tend to have that effect on mortals. Too bad you’re usually too nervous to utilize that particular skill, although right now you’re too pissed to stumble over your words.
“Don’t mind them, Wild. They’re trying to throw you off.” Scarf guy scoffs, glaring down at you, and you stick your tongue out at him.
“To answer your question, I was sent here to seduce eight people. I was just gonna take my time with it, but since you guys already have me tied up like this, I suppose we could skip dinner and get right to the show,” You snicker, but quickly choke back the sound when the rope tied around your body is tugged forward.
“It looks like the Shadow is running out of viable tactics if it’s resorting to terrible attempts at seduction like this. That pick-up line sucked.” One of the men in a red tunic with a streak of pink dyeing his bangs rolls his eyes, and you notice he’s the one with the rope holding you in place. He looks like a bit of a pushover, but you suppose if the others trusted him with the rope, he’s probably strong and smart enough to keep you captive.
“You wish it was a pick-up line. Too bad for you I’m not interested in shorties.” You laugh, some sort of classic villain sound that struggles to hide the lie that came out of your mouth prior to the laughter. You’re actually really into short men, and the blonde hair is really doing it for you. It truly isn’t fair how good looking all of these men are.
Once your laughter dies down and you’re left in the quiet that followed the grating sound, you clear your throat once, then twice, then decide to continue to talk so the embarrassment won’t eat you alive.
“Anyway, as this is my first time being kidnapped, I feel like I should ask you guys your names.” You hum, rocking back on the balls of your feet. The men pause, as if they weren’t expecting such a question, and slowly mutter out their titles before asking for yours. It’s an awkward exchange, and soon after, the men seem to decide to start walking.
You spend most of the walk squabbling with the man holding your rope who you now know as Legend. Even when he changes shifts with Twilight, you continue to shout insults and barely disguised flirts at the man all the way until Time calls out for everyone to stop and make camp. Surprisingly, you’re released for your bonds at this time, and instead find your feet tied together to prevent an easy escape and are made to sit beside Sky who’s working on a wood carving beside you.
“I don’t get it. Why are you guys treating me… kind of normal, even though you think I’m some sort of villain?” You ask, digging a stick in the dirt in front of you lazily.
“Well, you haven’t done anything wrong yet, it wouldn’t make sense for us to hurt you- innocent until proven guilty, I guess.” Sky shrugs, brushing away some wood shavings. You hum a long note, striking a line through your drawing.
“Dinner’s ready! Does fried rice and baked salmon work for you?” Wild calls out, trouncing over with his arms filled with plates. Sky happily takes his, but you hesitate. You can eat normal food, sure, but it doesn’t do anything for you, and you wouldn't want to waste these people’s rations even if they did abduct you.
“No thank you, I’m not hungry.” You duck your head, gnawing on your bottom lip as Wild lets out a concerned sound before moving on.
“You should really eat. I know this situation is upsetting, but you’ll just hurt yourself this way.” Sky whispers once Wild has moved out of earshot. You stab the ground with your stick with a bit more force than necessary.
“What does it matter to you? I’m a monster aren’t I? Maybe the only thing I can consume is mortal flesh and blood.” You roll your eyes, lazily lolling your head to look at the man. He seems to observe you for a second, eyes scanning your face before tracking to your freshly bitten lips. You immediately recognize the look on his face and blush, turning your head back towards the ground.
“Do you actually want flesh and blood, or is it something else you need?” Sky asks, quietly observing as you dig your fingers into your arms. His words… sound an awful lot like a proposition. Like he’s trying to see if he can offer you what you need.
You haven’t feasted in a long time…
Surely just a nibble won’t hurt.
Notes:
Sky is absolutely gone after that first interaction. This might be a good thing because his version of infatuation is a love so sweet it could make even a demon think they’re an angel. What’s more, he would romance them as normally as any other Hylian. Flowers, carvings, cuddles and other such romantic gestures. Succubus reader might think they tricked him into becoming infatuated at first, but he’s obviously not pursuing them with sex in mind. He’s legitimately trying to court them, get to know them, and only gets truly aroused when they initiate (other times, he just can’t help himself lol)
Four is the one you usually share a bedroll with, seeing as he’s small enough you can fit beside him without it being too cramped. This became a problem when he realized just how good you smell, and how good your curves feel pressed against him. All of that mixed with how little you wear at any given time, and let’s just say the man is done for.
When Wild realizes your sustenance is literally arousal and that you feed on souls instead of actual food, he’s surprised, but willing to try and find a way to feed you. One day you tease him before he starts cooking, and he’s left pent up the whole time. Once everything is served, you mention how the food smells good and actually eat some. Wild is not proud to admit he came in his pants at the moan you let out upon your first bite of food.
Twilight was usually the one to tie you up during those first few days together, and he will never ever admit what seeing you in his ropes does to him. The sight of the rope burn on your wrists and around your ankles does something to him, and you seem to know it as you constantly praise the rope work and occasionally ask if he’d be interested in shibari. He’s a little disappointed when it’s decided you aren’t actually a villain and you’re allowed out of the ropes, but sometimes you offer to let him tie you up for old times sake.
Time has seen a great many things in his time, but an awkward succubus was not something he was ever expecting. Unfortunately, your awkwardness is charming, and watching you slowly come out of your shell around the others is endearing. You’re not monstrous or demonic in anything other than appearance, and Time has watched you carefully etch protective runes into everyone you touch. He supposes it was only a matter of time until he fell for your charms, too.
As someone who is part Fae, Hyrule expected to be completely opposed to your very existence, and yet time and time again he finds himself drawn to you like a fly to honey. It might have to do with your scent, or how your kisses are filled with tempting nectar that keeps him coming back for more. He counts himself lucky you aren’t like the rest of your brethren down in hell, because he’s sure you would’ve claimed his soul in mere seconds otherwise.
Warriors was honestly scared of you at first. You remind him a lot of Cia, with the lack of clothes and snarky remarks. Once you calm down and start stuttering through interactions, though, he feels endeared. You’re practically harmless, and the runes you write on him and everyone else are protective. They don’t wrap around his arm like a shackle, but rather lay across his skin like a lazy cat. With your care, he slowly starts to work through his trauma, and in return, Warriors helps you become more comfortable speaking to others and helps you communicate with the rest of the chain.
Legend is so freaking jealous it’s actually hilarious. Honestly just those first couple interactions were enough to get him having a little crush on you, but afterwards, seeing you flirt around with the others, initiating intimacy with each of them as casually as if you were sitting down for dinner, it makes his blood boil. At first he thought it was because he felt like you were taking advantage of his sword brothers, but one day he just snaps, pins you against a tree, and preforms the sloppiest make out session you could probably conceive before stomping away in a huff. This pattern continues until you sit him down and ask him if he likes you, at which point he realizes oh no I totally like them and is embarrassed
Why does she look like that 😭
Might have to make this the new pfp
