For some reason taking it easy had been a lot harder for Herrick to do than he’d thought it would be. He’d picked out the bare minimum for his apartment and honestly just kept to himself for a bit. Finally his leg had began to ache less and he decided to go out for a walk in the park, really in desperate need of fresh air.

She was excited to see where the two would get on now that they were able to be around each other.. one thing had been talking on the phone, and over text.. but so far, if things stayed the way they were now,  then maybe there was something there. part of her kinda doubted the possibility that he, out of all people, would show up on the island, for her, and end up getting matched with her.. but a girl could wish for it.. smiling she nodded the moment he told her to get dressed and then they’d leave, her heart even skipped a beat as his lips found hers in a small but amazing kiss.. their lips barely left the others as she heard him speak.. “– don’t tempt me..” she muttered back, kissing him one more time. 

Herrick took a few steps into her apartment with a grin on his face, walking her back til her back was against the wall. “You know” he gazed down at her as his fingers played with her hair “the furniture store isn’t going anywhere”. The look in his eyes was playful yes mischievous, he had just traveled really far to see her, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to just spend time with her for a bit. “And who knows, maybe you’ll want me to spend the night here and then I can look for something tomorrow, no sleeping on the floor needed”.

maia coldn’t stop the smirk on her lips as she heard the him say he’d much rather be doing other things, but that it did in fact require a bed, and that he didn’t want to end up on the floor. all just things for her imagination… and all things she wouldn’t have mind.. but she felt his forehead laying against her own, and just feeling his body still against her own. still it was probably a llttile bit weird to feel some connected to someone you’d only known and spoken to on the intternet, but she did.. in some weird way she felt like she’found herself very at home with him there… and that maybe- -just maybe she could feel a something with someone, like the way she did with presley, only this time she actually kinda believed in it working out.. “— oh, well in that case we better find you something so neither of us maybe don’t have to sleep on our backs..”

“Exactly” he smiled down at the dark haired girl, just being around her made him feel like he’d definitely done the right thing by moving to this island to be with her, he was just hoping that was exactly what she’d wanted from him. “Get your shoes and jacket and we’ll head out, alright?” he couldn’t stop himself from plating another small kiss on her lips “I feel like I could just do that all day” he spoke, barely away from her lips.

there was no denying that maia enjoyed male company, she was maybe picky about what male company she would be with but, she enjoyed it nonetheless.. and herrick had been a someone she’d for as long as they’d spoken together, imagined being around, and now that he was so close that she could kiss him, feel his hands grab at her waist, and hold her tight, she didn’t really want it to end.. a smirk grew over her lips as she heard him speak again. “so you’ve been her no more than 10 minutes, and you’re already asking to go furniture shopping..” she said jokingly, a small smirk very much present.

“Well, i’d honestly rather be doing something else, but unless i’d like to sleep on the bare floor, i’m going to need some furniture” he smiled down at the dark haired girl, pressing his forehead against her’s, he felt like he could stay this way with her forever. All the times online that they’d been talking he never really thought he would get to this point, being able to meet her. He was suddenly a bit more okay with his leg injury, if he couldn’t play the sport he loves then at least he could be on this island with her.

maia glanced up a him for a few more moments before she saw him step back, and grab something off the floor, seeing the cane, for a short moment she was taken back by it, but she chose to not let it bother her. she was still just too excited to see him to care.. and as she listened to him explain why he was here.. “– im at least really happy you’re here..” she said, getting up on her toes, and kissed him one more time.

Herrick let out a sigh as she kissed him, immediately calming him down. He knew he liked her, but he didn’t think that’s he’d so quickly feel attached to her, it was almost scary. “Hey, so this is a bit random” he chuckled as he rested his free hand on her waist “but my new apartment is completely empty and I have no idea where to buy furniture around here”.

maia wanted the ito last longer, but had to settle with it the moment their lips separated and her feet were back on the ground, dark hues glancing up at the other, watching his lips move as he spoke, before feeling his hand rest against her face, how his thumb gently caressed her jaw. smiling before biting the inside of her cheek, holding back a wide smile, just for a moment.. “of course not! you’ve no idea how happy i am to actually see you.. just–  why did you come here when you know you can’t leave..?” she said, not helping the one part of her that still questioned everything.. 

Herrick took a step back to pick up his cane off of the ground and lean into it, letting out a long sigh as he felt the pressure off of his leg, once again annoyed that he had to rely on it. “Uhm, well, once my manager heard of this place she basically packed my bags for me, being forced to retire because of a fucked up leg and feeling like a failure is really fun” he chuckled, trying to brush it all off.

maia didn’t even think of what she was doing or care to wait for anything.. she just held on as herrick tried getting his balance back from her leap, and then finally she felt a strong set of hands hold her up while she felt the door pressed up against her back. her heart was beating hard in her chest, never ever had she imagined any of this ever happening. sure they’d at one point talked about wanting to be close like this, how they wanted to feel each others touch, but maia also had tried to be realistic that it would never happen, cause why would herrick come to an island he could never leave? especially when he could’ve gotten any girl.. but he was here– at her door.. hearing the word surprise pass his lips as maia lifted her head, letting their foreheads rest against the others, a smile growing over those same features as he spoke again. then suddenly his lips found hers, and she didn’t even hesitate in kissing him back, her fingers tangling themselves in his hair, gently tugging at it.. feeling a rush of feelings come over her, god knows she’d wanted this for so long.

Herrick felt like he could live in this moment forever but he could feel his leg beginning to ache and he mentally cursed himself out as he pulled his lips away from her and set the girl back down on the ground “I hope you don’t mind me showing up here” he smirked as he looked down at the dark haired girl, slowly running his thumb along her jaw.

maia was mid trying to cook something as she heard someone knock on her door.. her face scrunched up a little, as she wasn’t expecting anyone at that time of the day.. but she tore off her apron and walked towards her front door, giving herself a quick once over in the mirror to make sure she looked good and presentable before reaching the door, leaning forward to look through the peephole, just in case there was someone she didn’t want to see. but absolutely nothing could’ve readied her for what she did see  standing there.. maia didn’t even hesitate, tearing all the locks off her door she pulled her door open so fast, throwing herself at the boy standing there.. “HERRICK!!” her arms locked around his neck while her legs around his waist, burying her face in the crook of his neck

Herrick wasn’t the most sturdy on his feet, even less with the girl’s sudden leap onto him, he stumbled back for a second but caught himself on the door frame and turned to press to back against it while he wrapped his strong arms under her, giving himself more stability. A wide grin was spread across his face, her excitement made a rush of excitement flow through him “surprise” he grinned as he pressed his forehead against her’s “you’re even more gorgeous in person” he didn’t even think before he pressed his lips firmly against her’s he’d wanted to do that so badly for so long.

Herrick hadn’t been on the island longer than a few hours, he’d dropped his bags off at the apartment that his manager had set up for him. His heart was pounding out of his chest when he found the address of the girl he’d been talking to, he was positive that she didn’t expect him to show up at her place, but at this point he had nothing to lose. He leaned on the cane and sighed as he reached the door, wishing his leg wasn’t so sore and he could ditch the cane. Lightly he rapped on the door and took a deep breath as he waited for the girl to answer.
