The same as within human cultural customs, they are personifications after all.

Day 1 Magic (?)

This Au is basicly about Sweden who had gone (forced) out camping in the forest with some friends and then he suddenly wakes up all alone in a forest, naked and getting straddeled by some creature. The creature being of course Norway. Norway is a Skogman aka a male version of a Skogsrå, Skogsfru, Råndan or Huldra (this Väsen has a lot of regional names) which is an erotic väsen within Swedish folklore. Kjetil (Norway) has only one goal to die on "holy ground" and he will use Bengt (Sweden) to get there. But Bengt is an atheist and is not a member of any church (good luck kjetil).

What kjetil mean by "holy ground" he means the cemetery (this man be really living in 1800s) and the whole "I'm the hidden child of Eve" thing is a reference to the the old belief that Väsen (there is no direct translation of this word in English but it' a collective name for magical creatures in Swedish folklore) where originally related to the children that Eve hid from god due to them being dirty or wathever and showed the more presentable children when he visited or something. And he asked her if these were all the children and she said yes and god knew that she lied and cursed her that her hidden children would remain hidden forever and thats why Väsen can't be seen by humans (at least by some). The Church believed that Väsen where some demons or something and thats why they can't end up in heaven but kjetil here wants to.

The Skogsrå is known to protect and rule the forest by distorting one's vision (in the third image you can see that Norway is destorting Sweden vision to scare him) or seducing you so she can take your soul and be her little play thing. She often takes a female form but appears in a male form in Scania only (for some reason).

I got this inspiration from this story that I read from last summer (?). If I remember correctly a it was about giant/troll that wanted to marry of his daughter of this dude (can't remember why) and of course she need to comply but in the story she was pretty happy about it, due to the fact that she could have a chance to end up in heaven. At that time (pre 1900s, peasant edition) it was believed that if you weren't a Christian which these creatures couldn't and buried in a cemetery the chances were pretty high that you ended up in hell. Of course there is a chance for these for these creatures to end up in heaven for ex: be baptized and be buried in a cemetery.

And yes this is another headcanon post and the first headcanon is that the Nordics, especially Sweden like to give nicknames to everything and anything incudng Denmark.

So here is a small list of nicknames Denmark have:

Danne, an abbreviation and cluster of the words Danmark and Dansk (put it through Google translate Danish/Norwegian/Swedish and you get an idea how pronounced).

(Tomato/Tomato head, because Denmark blush alot and he dosen't like this nickname at all.

Pig, He hate this one with a bruning passion.

Dainy, a cluster of the words Dane and tiny. Denmark dosen't care about this one.

Alkis/Alki, an abbreviation of Alcoholic, this one just makes Denmark sad.

Salami, Denmark think this one is just straight up embarrassing.

And because my Denmark can be an offensive little asshole sometimes.

Here is a list of nicknames Denmark call other People .

America: Mayonnaise sometimes Alfie

Finland: Moi, Moi, perkele. Usually he does not have a chance to say it because 1. People interrupt him before he says it 2. Finland has already started beating him.

Iceland: Gas child and Bladder problems Denmark shorten Bladder problems to BP.

Norway: Norre/Nor, snail/Snegl and Dane's favorit, "My personal smog maker".

Prussia: Gillbritt, a cluster of the name Gilbert and the word British/Britt

Sweden: Burre, Svea, limp sausage, sausage head.

My second headcanon is that Timo's secondname is Rietrikki now.

The comic is a head canon that Norway is infertile (he had to learn this through the hard way, in an era where we can say was Not the right place to be that. With stress and pressure and obsolete surprise and despair, in short He does not like people being dissatisfied/disapointed with him). This is something he hates to bring up in conversations with, for example, his girlfriend (if he ever get's one) when it comes to having children. He thinks it's hard.

Soooo......Yeah that is a cat and it's name is Knut and it supposed to be a Maine coon but I don't know how to draw them. Knut is nice sometimes but can and never will get along with Denmark for some unkown reason

Sweden as a påskkärring

Påskkärring or påskhäxa is an easter witch or Something like that. Who on Maundy Thursday (yesterday) goes to Blåkulla and dances with the devil or fuck and eats children. Thats what a lot of people will tell you during the 17th century at least because of the Witch hysteria/The witch trials at that time. I think it was over 300 people(let's be real here women) that died because of the Witch hysteria in Sweden. Because a witch at that time was a Woman that basicly did the right opposite of everything like walking backwards for no reason or behaving strangely and of course have a broom that she could fly with(?). The description of a witch in the Nordic countries is a little bit different from eachother, for example in Denmark, the witch rides a horse insread of a broom and in Finland, the witch was usually a man(take the Finland part with a grain of salt). Anyway now it is tradition where you dress your child up like a påskkärring and give it Candy.

And I wanted too do this headcanon with mellanöl but it is a comon beer bevrage there in finland so... lättöl.

Yes that is Finland, I tried to draw him in a "this is what type of sterotype your beautiful Nordic neighbors gave you".

Lättöl (Literal translation Light beer) in Swedish definition, is the beer that contains a maximum of 2.25% alcohol by volume.

headcanon: that Finland can't understand why Sweden likes lättöl much more the usuall beer.
