“You know, it’s been a while since we’ve gotten together and talked.” Lovino stated to T'ne. He wasn’t being accusatory, just saying what was on his mind. Obviously the two nations had lives that could be very busy, so sometimes there just was no time to get together. “How’ve you been doing?” He asked, looking at her with a small, friendly grin.

T’ne may be blunt, but she can understand tonal differences and recognizes his simple statement of fact. “Haven’t been pulling you out of the way of a bar fight punch recently either.” Is her half joking comeback. She grins back, shrugging a bit. “Figured out how to get an assistant and how to get people to do their own work during last winter, so I’ve gotten more sleep, you?”

Galen smirked, “as much as I hate it, Lucifer did form my tastes when it comes to partners.” He shrugs, “but it does come in handy for sure~ I love getting to spend time with my peachy~.” He grabbed her by the waist and yanked her closer.

“Punch him later for it. I’ll smith you some metal knuckles.” T'ne plainly states, easily allowing herself to be moved. “And you are stuck with me being yours until my culture is felled.” She pauses. “Not a nice thing to think of and at that point I will either reincarnate or fall into hell. I think?”

Lovino, most of the time, was very submissive around men, though he’d never admit it out loud, and the front he put up was usually enough to make people think otherwise. But the Italian man got intimidated easily, and Tal'kaan was intimidating to him for some reason. “’m used to growling. T'ne does it all the time.” He mumbled, shuffling into the room and taking a seat on the small couch in the room. “Yeah… That sounds good.” The Hesutian’s smile and gentle tone helped Lovino calm down a bit.

“She has screamed and howled far more than I in anger. Her voice being full of growls and snarls is expectable.” Tal’kaan himself is newer to English than the other Hesutian and uses words in a way that might suggest that he has less practice. He pops the top off of the wine bottle with the hilt of his dagger and uses the point to dig into the cork enough to pull it out with a grumble. “Steemed glass or steemless?” He asks from the kitchen, accent affecting the word stemmed on accident, as he pops open a cabinet to see both types. Tal’kaan grabs a stemless for himself, uncomfortable with dealing with glasses formed like a stemmed wineglass.

“True, true.” Flavio nodded. “Though, I’d rather be crafting than doing paperwork and other things of that like.” He sighed quietly, thinking for a moment about how different his life would be if he didn’t have the responsibilities of a nation. “No worries, then. I’ll let you continue the Hesutian tradition while I work on perfecting the Italian one.” He smiled. “Mm, yes, I am very busy… But doing things like this for T'ne is very important to me as well. I’m sure I can make some time somehow.” He shrugged, not really thinking about the time aspect of the crafts he wanted to do. “Yes, I think that will be perfect.”

“Paperwork and politics is a bitter brew I don’t wish on anyone.” Tal’kaan cringes a bit at the thought of doing the duties T’ne does. “Bad enough that T’ne has placed me in charge of the mating permissions due to how I keep track of lineages so commonly. Nasty work, really.” Having to deal with irate citizens is the worst, in the man’s opinion. “Well, she understands if you can’t find a time for the more intensive crafts - she hasn’t managed to make it to the forge enough herself to make you the gifts she wants to. But I can get the oils in about a moon, er, month.”

As soon as Lovino recovered from his embarrassment, he looked to the side and towards the ground, his awkwardness making itself apparent. At least he didn’t immediately throw up one of his angrier ‘defense mechanisms’. “Mm, I’m Lovino.” He quirked up a bit at the mention of wine. “She did? I… I guess I can come in for a little while.” He hoped either T'ne would return soon or the wine would take effect quickly enough to save him from his awkwardness.

The Hesutian man tilts his head a tad, frowning slightly. This friend of T’ne’s happens to be rather... submissive in a way. “Welcome in, I hope my growling does not upset you.” Tal’kaan says with a light smile, opening the door further and moving out of the way enough to allow Lovino in. After a brief second he decides a course of action. “I’l go fetch the wine, if you don’t mind.” He gently states, moving as he speaks into the little kitchen area and picking up the bottle to open it, pulling out a spare dagger to do so.

“Oh? That is very helpful. I didn’t realize you were such a craftsman.” Flavio seemed surprised, but then he remembered he knew practically nothing about Tal'kaan since their first interaction was an argument. “Mm, I get that. I certainly wouldn’t want to butcher the Hesutian technique… I’m much better with my native techniques anyway. It’s simply a matter of materials and time.” Neither of which he really had at the moment. “I don’t think I’ll make that many… At least not to start. I think one or two bigger ones and a handful of smaller ones will work perfectly for now.”

“Had to earn a living somehow.” Tal’kaan points out, sighing. His talents are often overlooked due to his reputation and habits when it comes to pleasure. “It’s even questionable if I would be allowed to reveal the particulars to certain crafts anyway. The written laws are a bit vague about what level of Hesutian methodology can be taught to otherlanders. Anyway, you seem like a busy enough man without adding on the burden of crafting.” A way to point out Flavio’s busy lifestyle as gently as a hungover man could. “So enough wax for three large candles in all?”

Lovino had been looking for T'ne, as he so often did. He knew he depended on her a bit too much, but at this point he couldn’t really help it. He went to the hotel room he could have sworn was hers, and knocked on the door, hoping to talk to her about some problems. As the door opened, he started with a whine, “T'ne…” Though he quickly trailed off, as the person standing in front of him definitely wasn’t her. “You’re… um, not T'ne…” His face immediately burned red with embarrassment as he realized he whined to a stranger. Other than that, he didn’t know what to do.

Tal’kaan had bunked with T’ne in this trip, being uncomfortable enough outside of Hesuto that staying away from his kind-of sibling would have been too much for the man’s mental health. Of course his head pops up at the sudden knock, hopping up to answer it. Popping open the door, Tal’kaan quirks his head to the side in slight confusion. “Ah, T’ne is currently off speaking business with another. I am her somewhat sibling Tal’kaan. Would you like to come in? I know she bought a bottle of wine in case a friend of hers, presumably you, appeared.”

“Alright, I’ll keep that in mind. I know from experience that too strong a smell can be overwhelming, and I’d hate to do that. Of course, I wouldn’t try to mimic Hesutian techniques. I’d feel terrible if I messed something up without realizing… I’ll also have to look into it some more first.” Flavio sighed contently through his nose when he heard Tal'kaan’s accent. It reminded him of T'ne, which made him even happier. “Well, I cook so much for her that I thought it might be good to change it up a bit? And I’ll always give her my company, so I suppose that’s always spoiling her…” Though, he personally didn’t count that as spoiling. “Not too many. I don’t wish to overwhelm her, after all…”

“I know most wax to oil ratios but we can always make small tests to figure out what is too much and what is not enough.” Tal’kaan quietly suggests, taking another sip before continuing. “It’s also harder to get an outsider training to an expert level in Hesutian crafts if it is not something I specialize in. T’ne does not have the time to work a forge to craft the many daggers and blades she has already drafted, and average Hesutians are wary of other nationalities learning our technique. ...Anyway, variation is good. Under 10 large ones and under 50 smallest size ones would be best if that is your wish.”

Tal'kaan’s quick smile made Flavio happier, so his own smile widened in return. “So, nothing too strong I’m assuming? Maybe I should learn pottery too… That way I can make her more…” He was a pleaser, and he wanted nothing more than to make T'ne happy in whatever way possible. “Um… I don’t really want to convey anything in particular… All I want is to spoil her! I can make multiple candles, so I’ll take whatever advice you’re willing to give.”

“No, lightly scented and long burning is best. Should you choose ceramic wares to craft, I suggest using styles native to your own lands to aid in a bit of variety - Hesutian techniques get, mmmmn, bland after a time.” The Hesutian rumbles out slowly, accent thickening when he forgets yet another word. “If you wish to spoil her, food and company are the easiest way to go. T’ne is a simple female, despite her status. But what number of candles are you looking to create? I wish to gather the correct volumes of oils, after all...” Tal’kaan shrugs slightly, mouth quirking up a bit at Flavio’s cheer.

At Tal'kaan’s explanation, Flavio quickly bounced back, but he would keep somewhat quiet so he didn’t cause the Hesutian man more pain. “Oh, no worries, then…” He offered a small, but kind smile. “That would be so lovely. I’ve delved into candle-making before, so hopefully I’ll remember how to do it…” His smile widened at Tal'kaan’s ideas. “Yes, that would be perfect…”

The Hesutian man makes a low grumbling noise, leaning into his fist as he props himself up, smiling back briefly. “Most... What’re they called again?, Ah, fragrances used in candle making are natural oils back in Hesuto, so using a natural wax base that is scentless might be best.” Tal’kaan closes his eyes briefly before taking another sip of his drink. “So, any particular sort of love you wish to convey? There’s quite a number of combinations for the different types after all. Even more with how you are from another land.” He rumbles, sighing at the end.

“Yes, exactly!” Flavio liked to express his feelings every chance he got, but recently he’d started to feel like he’d been getting T'ne the same things over and over, and wanted to change it up. “Ooh, candles? What kinds of scents does she like? I don’t want to mess up, you know? I’d absolutely hate to get her something she didn’t like… It needs to be perfect!” He could ramble too, but he did his best to keep it under control.

“I see…” Tal’kaan sighs a bit into his cup at Flavio’s excitement, having a rather lax attitude in general at the moment. “Yes, candles. Softer, rolling scents. Lightly flowery, maybe a hint of herbs. Probably not the ones you can pick up at the store and smell from a good distance away.” Flippant gesture with his spare hand for emphasis before he takes another sip, casual and calm.

Flavio couldn’t help but be excited when talking about T'ne, but Tal'kaan’s calm attitude caused him to deflate and dial back a considerable amount. He looked away a bit, frown creeping onto his face. “A-alright… I’ll keep that in mind…” He took the Hesutian’s tone as a sign of him not wanting to talk, so he reflected it without meaning to.

Tal'kaan sighs a bit at Flavio's change in demeanor. "Apologies if I come across as stiff. Have a headache from too much Mead last night." He briefly explains. "I can help with scents she has emotional connotation to, if you choose to make the candles yourself." He offers, smiling slight before rubbing his forehead from discomfort. "And the varient of love you wish to express could be customized via particular scent combinations then."

“Well, we’ve been together for a while, and I just thought she deserved something nice for putting up with me for so long?” In other words, Flavio didn’t really have a reason; he just liked spoiling T'ne. “Thank you for your help…” He tended to hold grudges, even after petty arguments, so he was a bit hesitant, but he tried not to show it.

The Hesutian hums a bit. “So you simply wish to express your feeling for her.” Is his understanding, finger rubbing the underside of his nose as he gazes at Flavio with a sort of laziness. “Well, she likes practical things - ceramics, blades, pelts, so on. Candles are seen as practical back home - little safe light sources. Find one that isn’t too heavily scented and she’d like it. Don’t know what your preferences for giving are.” Tal’kaan is a bit of a rambler and he doesn’t hold grudges as often, considering most things in the past.

“I know we haven’t gotten along very well in the past, but I really just have some questions for you…” Flavio started, looking at Tal'kaan, neither happy nor angry to be talking to him. “I want to get T'ne something super special, and I need some ideas…”

Tal’kaan yawns a bit into his mug, eyeing Flavio a bit. “What’s the gift for, if you don’t mind me asking? I don’t mind aiding if it’s for T’ne, and I have no left over ill-will for you.” The Hesutian shrugs a bit, downing a bit of his drink.
