Basch is protective!

- While he respects you and knows you can take care of yourself, he does keep one eye out at all times.

- He won’t let anyone make you feel uncomfortable and isn’t afraid to lash out!

- That said, he will respect your wishes if you want him to hold back a little!

- He’s also prone to a little jealousy. He knows that you’ll be loyal to him because he’s 100% loyal to you, but he can’t help himself when he sees someone being all touchy touchy on you!

Food?

- He likes cheese dishes, and will often cook them.

- He doesn’t spend too lavishly on food though and is practically a Coupon Monster.

- He’s a pretty good cook. Average, and generally follows cookbooks if he doesn’t know a recipe by hand.

- He could stand to use some more spices though. He usually just throws things together. He’s really anal about following the cookbook so won’t really do things out of the box.

- Bread and cheese are pretty cheap, yeah? You can bet that if you don’t remind him to cook anything else, you two are eating grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

- He has a small sweet tooth! I can see him liking cheese danishes and certain puddings!

Gifts!

- He gives really good gifts. Never expensive, but things he knows you’ll love and use.

- Like, for example: he’s learning from Lili how to knit so he can give a pair of handmade gloves to you.

- Learned from Francis that it’s romantic to give roses to relationship partners, so he’ll occasionally bring you a rose.

- Really, not a bouquet but just a singular rose he plucked from his garden.

Dates!

- He’s a homebody, so he prefers staying inside. Maybe marathoning shows with you or playing a board game.

- He’s not opposed to going out though! Picnics and walks would be his go-to dates!

- If anything, he’d probably take a finance class with you and deem that a perfect date. Or go out to feed the birds and deem that a perfect date.

- He’s an old man at heart.

Cleanliness!

- He’s very tidy and wouldn’t like it if you weren’t also tidy.

- He believes helping around the house is a must and would probably make a chores list if you moved in with him.

- He prefers washing dishes, mowing the lawn and mopping! (All so he can really keep the gas and water bills in check though)

Comfort!

- He’s incredible at listening and would happily give you advice if you want it.

- He’s sort of a preacher, so if you want advice then he’ll start to ramble on about all the solutions you could choose from.

- He’ll check up on you and make sure you’re doing well after you’ve opened up to him!

- He’d be really blunt about it though and would say something along the lines of: “Hey, ________. Want to talk about anything? Don’t hold back.”

- For physical types of comfort, he’d take you out on a picnic to give you some fresh air and sunshine or suggest a walk around the park.

- He’s not the most cuddly, but if that’s what you want, he’d oblige completely!

And while Kiku enjoys playing videogames, he enjoys leisurely playing them instead of competitively. But! He would love to go a round or two with you! He can get pretty competitive when he wants too and would totally aim to take you down!

You were at the mall, determined to win a prize from a contest being held.

“Hey! Uh, you busy?” You asked to which he shook his head nervously. “Nice! So, uh, there’s this contest going on- you wanna be my partner for it?”

The man blushed nervously, “what kind of contest is… it?”

“A gaming contest! You don’t have to be good at them- it’s just-” you stopped when you saw the fire in his eyes. You smirked and continued, “never mind, let’s go.”

“Yes! Let’s!” He agreed and practically dashed off to the contest area.

You followed happily, loving the fire in his eyes.

How you two start dating:

Over time, the two of you had come to know each other better. You’d gone on countless occasions to his home for tea and conversation and always enjoyed your time with him.

Today you two decided to try something new and go out to a café.

“This is different,” you commented, looking around excitedly. Kiku seemed off, blushing at the surroundings, but agreed with you nervously.

“Um,” he then put on a “suave” face. “Do you want to try something else that’s… different?”

You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, “such as?”

He flushed red, and looked away.

“Kiku? What’s wrong?” You asked, concerned. “Do you just want to go home?”

He turned toward you and shook his head. “I…” He gulped and then smiled at you. “I want to date you, if you’ll have me.”

It was your turn to blush this time, and you hesitated before nodding and smiling at him. “Heck yes! Let’s do it!” You blushed before explaining yourself, “dating. I mean let’s date.”

“Not as pretty as you,” the man flirted and smirked at the blush that reddened on your face.

“U-Um!” You turned your head away bashfully.

“I’m Lovino, mi fiore,” he introduced himself confidently.

How you two start dating:

Lovino was flirtatious.

Nice, and a little grumpy, but flirtatious.

But, you found yourself looking forward to each conversation with him. Each message he sent you would send a rush through your heart, and it’d skip a bear in excitement. Your blood pumped your senses and all you could think about was the dashing Italian.

Deciding to be daring yourself, you reached for your phone timidly, and began typing a message to him.

“Do you want to go to that new movie with me?”

Just as you were ready to send it; you paused. Thumb over the send button, a nervous dread filled the pit of your stomach.

I can’t do it… What if he says no?

You were dragged away from your thoughts at the sudden “ping!” and a new message appearing on the screen.

Hey. How about going with me to see a movie this weekend?

You bit your lip in excitement and replied enthusiastically. Excitement flooded your veins for the weekend to come.

Spain/Antonio Fernandez Carriedo:

Toni loves every inch and part of you. He’d immediately swoop to the rescue, bringing you close and hugging you. He’d snuggle into the back of your neck and then pull away, wearing a rather ditzy smile, and then does his best to comfort you effectively.

“Your body is wonderful. You’re wonderful. I’ll tell you this as many times as you want, mi amor. It’s all true.”

Romano/Lovino Vargas:

Lovino would be really confused. He wasn’t brought up to body shame anyone, and appreciates all body types. And, for one, he sort of has a preference for people with a fuller body type!

“Heh? What? What’s the matter?” Lovi asked in confusion. “… Hey, listen. You’re fine… I-I think you look great. Really great.”

France/Francis Bonnefoy:

Francis is also pretty confused. He sees beauty in everything and thinks you look absolutely gorgeous, so he couldn’t fathom that you thought otherwise. You’re healthy, now all he wants is for you to be happy.

“Mon chéri… Please don’t feel like so; your body is a work of art, oui? Only meant to be admired for an eternity and more.”

America/Alfred F. Jones:

Alfred understands completely. He’s almost the only one to understand so much. He loves his body and wants you to love yours too, but understands that sometimes… You look in the mirror and just nitpick everything about yourself.

“Hey, hey,” he cooed quietly. “It’s okay to feel like this. It’s okay. Just know that you’re beautiful. Anybody who thinks otherwise… can go get dunked on!”

Can you give Liechtenstein's surname 'Vogel'? There's no reason for her to be Zwingli. If Iceland and Norway have different surnames from each other, then why not Switzerland and Liechtenstein?

Ah! That's a good point! But, hmm... I don't think I'll change Lili's last name. That is, unless someone can explain to me why Vogel is more accurate! I like the meaning behind Vogel though! But I'll list my reasons below as to why I won't change it.- Well, Liechtenstein has all of her affairs and such safeguarded by Switzerland. The two countries even share the same monetary system and language. It would make some sense that they'd share the same last name (in the personification of them) - Although some would point out that it would be unlikely that Liechtenstein would take the surname of a Protestant Reformer, I don't think Switzerland is Protestant anymore - Yeah, as of 2017, the majority is Christian (with many being Roman Catholic and some being Protestant) - While we're on that, it's not forbidden for a Roman Catholic to marry a Christian (not talking about Lili and Basch getting married, but their parents getting married- in a human AU- and hence the shared last name) - Therefore, they could have the same last name and ought to since Switzerland basically adopted Liechtenstein! - Yeah, Lukas and Emil don't share the same last name but in actual country relations the two are way more independent from each other than Liechtenstein and Switzerland - And I'm really just used to it ;v; Lili Zwingli has such a cute ring to it! (though Lili Vogel sounds cute too!) I hope this made some sense and that I explained it well! qvq thanks for shining light on this though! It was fun to research all of this!

Axis + Prussia and America with their s/o at the beach ?

Italy/Feliciano Vargas:Feli isn’t the most prepared, but he absolutely loves a trip to the beach. (More or less he forgets things such as a towel or umbrella for blocking off the sun, but he’s just really excited to go with you to the beach!) He’s pretty much shameless with his body, and would want you to be too. He would also offer to put sunscreen on you plenty of times, and then would drag you to the ocean excitedly. It’s just way more fun with you!Japan/Kiku Honda:Kiku takes a bit of persuading to go to the beach “can’t we just go to a private pool? Indoors?” However, the beach is a pretty sight with its soft sand and clear waters, and he’d eventually give in. He’d remember everything needed for a trip to the beach and would then just relax under the shade of the umbrella or tree at the beach. He’d find watching you enjoy the water and run around more enjoyable, so it would probably be the best to bring a group of friends along.Germany/Ludwig Beilschmidt:Not against it, surprisingly. He’s the most prepared and will constantly remind you to put on sunscreen, drink some water and just being a mother hen while you just want to have fun. He takes the hint when you tease him and lets loose happily. He’s most likely to enjoy a game of beach volleyball and walking alone the water. However, he’s also really like to lift you up in his arms and run toward the sea, dunking you in shallow water and grinning mischievously as he did so. Romano/Lovino Vargas:Lovi is a bit too agreeable to going to the beach. He’s just way too chill about it and even though he forgets things like sunscreen and goggles, he seems pleasantly content in going to the beach with you. Once there, he practically drags you to the water and laughs as he splashes you. He’s so happy enjoying the nice weather with you, and would be even happier to just lay down under the safety of some cool shade while admiring your sun kissed face. Prussia/Gilbert Beilschmidt:Gil is pretty organized despite not seeming to be. He really has no choice but to remember the essentials because he burns easily and has too much fun in the water. That said, he’s just fine only sitting in the shade, but he also would love to get some swimming in. He’d be the first out of the car though, excitedly getting sand between his toes and urging you along with him to get a good spot on the beach. Once found, he’d remind you both to put on sunscreen and the fun would begin!America/Alfred F. Jones:He really depends on you to pack a beach bag. Like, you can depend on him to bring some good snacks, but as for actually useful stuff? He’s apologizing continuously that he forgot it on his dresser or something. “Hey, I forgot the sunscreen, hehe. But, at least you’ll dig my tan, right?” Despite his forgetfulness, he’s actually pretty fun on the beach. He’s happy on land or sea and as long as he’s with you; he’s pumped to do whatever!

Did you say dogs? Ludwig loves dogs and already loves you for loving dogs! He’d be happy to own, like, 20 with you! While he’s never really played tennis, he’d love it if you taught him how to play. It would be great exercise and bonding time- and overall just a fun time in general! Ludwig is just as, if not more, awkward around new people and would hope that you’d take comfort in the fact that you’re not alone. He’d also really love your witty and random nature- Ludwig is much too serious and having someone that’s random and funny like you around would light up his day (even if he may seem annoyed, he really does love your personality and wouldn’t want you to stop being you).

Turkey/Sadık Adnan:

Sadik doesn’t care that you’re quiet at first. He’d love it- and would love for you to listen to his constant nonsense. Once you’d begin to get comfortable around him, he’d probably take joy in getting you all fired up about random things. You like tennis? He’s challenging you to a game… or 10. You’d keep beating him and beating him at the sport and he would just keep demanding and demanding a rematch. He’s an incredibly competitive person and wouldn’t take “no” for an answer or a fair loss for a loss. He’d smirk if you started arguing about being tired or that 10 losses seems like a loss enough, and would just continue to pester you. He’d be absolutely thrilled that you’re comfortable with him enough to just let loose and argue with him, and would continue to find reasons to have funny, little arguments (while being sure to not let them become blown out and out of control, of course!) You read a book that you didn’t really like? “How could you not like that book! (He’s never read the book) You hurt its feelings!”

Alfred would love to make puns with you! He’d love to fire puns back and forth, full throttle and non stop! It would be so much pun! Jest a lot of joking around, the two of you! He’d be absolutely fine with you being all quiet and stuff, but he’d also try his best to get you to be a little louder at times- may that be by trying to annoy you a little or by making you burst out in laughter! He’d honestly love to go adventuring with you- anywhere, any time, he’s ready. Just say the words! He’d hop up and grab you, spin you around and exclaim that he is definitely ready and down to get lost with you in the forest! 

2p! Canada/Matt Williams:

Matt appreciates your quiet nature, as he isn’t really much for words himself and likes to sit in a peaceful silence. He does, however, cling to every single word that you would say and takes to heart your lovely voice. He doesn’t mind that you’re quiet, but would totally be cool to just sit down and listen to you talk, or sing even- if you’re cool with serenading him! Matt also takes explorations into the forest and would gladly bring you along if you so wished! He likes going into the forest and having you there with him would just make the experience even better! Romano/Lovino Vargas:

Lovino is pretty shy as well. He hides it by being vulgar and hotheaded, but he understands how you feel in social situations and wouldn’t judge your awkward behavior. He’d encourage you to be more loud and bring out your personality more, and to rant out about the things you’re passionate about. He’d find it amazing that you could be so passionate, and would love to see you be more and more passionate about those things you like. He’d also show you a ton of affection just to see you get all flustered, he’d find it incredibly cute how flustered you’d get and wouldn’t stop (unless you told him to, but he’d be a bit upset if you did). He’d totally find your cursing to be cute too, and would probably have an all-out Curse Fest with you.

Japan/Kiku Honda:

Kiku would find you adorable in that sort of Tsundere way! He’d find it so cute how you could go from really quiet and shy to really loud and vulgar! Even though your vulgarity would surprise him, he wouldn’t mind it and would, as time went on, find your usage of curse words and annoying antics to be really cute. Kiku isn’t a very passionate person himself, and doesn’t have much that he’s passionate about so watching you get heated up about the things you like would be something that he would really enjoy. He might slip up and give you a comment about how cute he thinks you are when you’re preaching about such things. He himself gets really flustered over affection, but would take comfort in knowing that you get just as flustered. He’d try and show you affection more and more thanks to this, happy that he’s not the only one getting flustered.

Matthew is really quiet and sensitive and would be there to help steer you away from situations that would result in fighting or yelling. Matthew also takes interests in a lot of things and would love to share those interests with you! He probably wouldn’t know much about astronomy other than it has stuff to do with stars and would love for you to tell him more about it. He’d happily go star-gazing with you and would be even happier if you started naming off constellations and explaining their origins and such. Matthew would find you’re not scaring easily to be cool- he wouldn’t try to randomly scare you or anything, but he’d probably praise you and comment how cool it is that you didn’t jump or anything when something scary happened.

Sweden/Berwald Oxenstierna:

Berwald is quiet and observant. He’d realize when things are getting tense and would steer you away from the situation, assuring you that things were fine and that it wasn’t anything to worry over. Otherwise, he’d really enjoy anything astronomy related with you. He’d especially enjoy just the two of you star-gazing somewhere in a quiet and peaceful place. Despite his appearance, he scares easily and would find you not getting scared when something suddenly jumps out to be admirable. He’d also really like if you helped learn a new language with him- I imagine he’s not very good at learning them and would need a little help with learning a new one. So, he’d be absolutely thrilled if you offered to help him!

Xiao admires your leadership skills and would find your sarcasm to be pretty refreshing and enjoyable. She’s a very outgoing person and tries to be fashion forward, so she would appreciate anything you’d have to say about anything she’s wearing and would probably go out of the way to ask you what you thought and if there was anything she could add/fix about it. Just be honest! She wouldn’t find it rude and would be happy for the input! She’d also be thrilled to just sit in and have a cup of tea with you, joking over the hot beverage and enjoying a couple of tea cakes with you just seems much more enjoyable than any flashy date!

Canada/Matthew Williams:

Matthew isn’t loud enough to even be seen as a leader, and would completely admire the way you take charge. He’d just admire you in general! How you can state things so simply to the point of appearing rude, how you can so openly be sarcastic… He’d just hold you on a high pedestal and would be happy to have you as his. Even though Matthew generally drinks more coffee than tea, he’d be happy to swap his mug for a simple cup of tea and relax with you over that hot beverage. He’s very strategic but doesn’t know much about first aid and would probably ask you to teach him a little bit of something about it. He’d also just really admire your helpful personality as a whole! Volunteering for the Red Cross doesn’t seem like something the average person really does, but he’d happily go along with you to volunteer!

Feliciano, despite his outward personality, is actually incredibly flirtatious. You said kiss and he’s already leaning forward before you can finish your sentence. It’s a tender kiss to leave you wanting more, with a soft bite on your bottom lip to tease you slightly. 

He’d pull away and give a ditzy smile, “feeling better?” 

Germany/Ludwig Beilschmidt:

Ludwig is, of course, a flustered mess. “Uh- if you’re lips hurt- you should put some- uh- ice on it? I’ll- go get you some-” he’d hop up and speed walk to get you some, handing it to you with an embarrassed look. “If-if that isn’t enough… It can’t be helped.” He’d blush and place his hands on your shoulder.

“I’ll just have to give you a different type of medicine.”

Japan/Kiku Honda:

Kiku is red, silent and not meeting your flirtatious gaze. He’s biting his lip hard, shifting nervously. He’s just really bad with PDA and would rather enjoy the silent, comfortable atmosphere being with someone you love brings… Though, that doesn’t mean he’s against kissing or anything! He just gets too flustered to initiate it! He- 

He didn’t have to worry about initiating anything because you took his distraction to lean forward and give him a kiss, pulling away far too soon. 

This time, he, however, displeased leaned forward and returned the kiss.

Romano/Lovino Vargas:

Lovino is also secretly very flirtatious and smirks at your sudden question. “I don’t know, wouldn’t you rather some ice?” He’d question, with a raised eyebrow. 

“No, way too cold. I need something warmer.”

“If you insist…” He’d grin and lean forward to kiss you passionately. 

Prussia/Gilbert Beilschmidt:

Gilbert is thrilled! He never expected something so flirtatious to come out of your mouth! And nonetheless, you wanted him to kiss that very mouth!

He’d then get incredibly flustered and wouldn’t really be able to take the opportunity at first. 

“Uh, Gil?” You’d question, nervous that you might have ruined something. 

But, of course, that panic was erased when he cheekily grinned at you. “Of course!” He’d lean forward and kiss you hard, smashing your teeth together slightly in his clumsiness.

Canada/Matthew Williams:

Matthew’s eyes widen in surprise- for a split second, he was genuinely worried about your lips being in pain, but for the other split second, he’s also very eager to give you a kiss. Deciding on the former, he quickly turns his head to you and smiles, nodding briskly. 

“Y-yeah! I’ll… Kiss it better!” 

Eagerly, he gives you an energetic kiss.

Russia/Ivan Braginsky:

Ivan smiles shyly and nods at you with a huge blush on his face, “D-Da. Alfred has a big personality and a big heart. He wouldn’t understand you being so quiet, but wouldn’t mind it either and would nonetheless be happy that you’re on his side and with him. He’d fill the silence with lovely words to make you smile and would just goof around with you, happy to have you by his side. Alfred hates getting into fights and would be happy that you’re also pacifistic. He’d much rather talk out arguments (though, he’s a very fast talker) but would be happy to take it slow every now and then!

America/Al Jones (2p!)

Al is also vegetarian and would be thrilled to have somebody to share his food with. He’d talk big about how vegetarians are gonna rule the world one day, and would make hilarious jokes- hoping to get you to snort in laughter. He’s absolutely fine with your quiet personality, but would want to bring out that performer in you. He’d take you to all the best theatre shows and show you the world in a new way. He’d really be happy to share the world with you, he’d give you it if possible.

Romano/Lovino Vargas: 

Lovino is very bad at making friends, but would encourage the mess out of you to make some. He’d be there, squeezing your hand and urging you on- friends are a wonderful thing to have, and since you’re wonderful, he’d want you to take pride of your wonderfulness and make some! The both of you are rather impulsive when angry, but I feel like you’d stop each other from making decisions that are too impulsive unless you two are both angry at the same thing. But being impulsive isn’t always a bad thing! Some may say it’s a good thing actually! Either way, cooking is something the two of you can share. Filling up the kitchen with wonderful aromas and a warm atmosphere just sounds like such an awesome time!

France/Francis Bonnefoy:

Francis is a very social being- fashionable and sparkling, he’d happily help you make more and more friends. Francis is a generally impulsive person and would probably encourage 80% of your angry, impulsive decisions. However, he hates to see such a beautiful person being angry and would help you calm down before it had time to spiral out of control. Cooking and singing are two of his loves. Cooking and food is something that’s universally loved, something everyone can partake in, and he’d gladly help you out with cooking. And singing? He falls head over heels for any girl that can sing, and would totally fall head over heels for you!

Hi I would love a ship if it wouldn't be too much trouble! I'm 5' 0", with medium dark brown/ black hair with really subtle red highlights. I'm on the chubbier side, I have dark brown eyes and tan skin. I really enjoy going outside and walking around, goofing off on the Internet, and doing really weird types of art ( like perler beads, calligraphy) because I'm awful at drawing and painting, playing video games and watching my weird shows. Alfred is up to doing any of those things with you. Going outside? Worm. He’d dig climbing a tree. Goofing around on the Internet? Worm. All he does is goof around. Being awful at drawing and painting? Worm. He’s worse though. But he wouldn’t feel bad about being worse at it as long as you could laugh at his terrible art and feel better about your own art. He’s all for video gaming and weird shows, it would probably be bad for the health of the both of you if a new video game came out on a boring weekend. He probably wouldn’t understand your anxiety very well, but would definitely try to help you out. If you find it hard to do something, he’d help you breathe through it and would congratulate and be so proud of you for getting through it.

Prussia/Gilbert Beilschmidt:

Gilbert is a home body. He’s pale and runs a blog, but if you wanna go outside, he’d be there with you. Cause even though he’s a home body, he’s up for anything that’s not boring! He’d be glad to watch funny videos with you on the Internet all day and would just really be glad and down for whatever. He’s bad at video games, but would have fun playing with you or watching you go level after level. Gilbert would also understand your depression and anxiety very well, and would happily encourage you every day. He’d honestly just be your personal cheerleader, telling you jokes every chance he gets and loving to see your smiling and laughing face.
