Dark eyes widened in shock at her wife’s words. She really hadn’t expected her to agree so easily. However, she couldn’t complain, this was what they both wanted after all and the smile that was now evident on her lips told Milah how happy she was that she’d agreed to magical assistance from the fairies.

"Today? You really want to see if they can help us?"

Milah didn't want to use magic. But she knew that her wife wanted this baby more than anything. It was an issue she was willing to put aside, if it  meant that their marriage could finally start to  improve. Their desperation for a baby had put a small fracture in their relationship and she was more than willing to mend it with this. "But we  do need to decide which one of us is going to carry the baby, darling."

He nodded. They would find the one who knew what they wanted, who could give them what they sought. It was only a matter of time, and Killian had plenty of it. He was on top of the world, with everything (mostly) going his way, and a woman he loved more than life itself. Or so it felt at times. His smile widened, a gleam appearing in his deep blue eyes.

"Oh you do, do you?" He kept his hand on her cheek, getting closer to her.

He stilled when he saw her, unable to help how he’d tensed up, swallowing hard making his jaw flex in one corner. “Nothing for you to be sorry for love, I’m still alive after all.” Though she’d yet to see the mess of scars along his back, the one deep one that had almost killed him when some of the crew had tried to cause a mutiny.

Killian had made sure they paid for that with their lives.

It was a surprise when she came closer, his breath catching as his eyes followed her, almost unsure of what to do. He was used to people who knew him as Captain Hook, only as the dark person he’d become, but she knew him from before. Not before Liam died, when he was much more naive, but before his heart had become clouded in darkness. She knew the man he wanted to go back to being again…

There was an involuntary tense at the touch, trying not to pull it away and hide again despite everything in him telling him to do so. To hide his shame because that’s what this was, right? His shame. “Aye, I’m actually staying at an inn in town if you’d like to come join me.” He looked toward it, finding he was having difficulty breathing for a moment, it was all happening so fast and there was the fear Rumplestiltskin could take her from him again.

At least it was his heart the madman held this time, and not her own.

"I'd like that." Milah said quietly, her green eyes lifting to meet his blue gaze. "I'd like that a lot Killian. Just to be alone with you again." She pulled her hand away from the metal hook, "I want to hear everything." Even if some might not be what she wanted to hear. Because she knew things had changed.

Another nod in the woman’s direction. She didn’t know why the woman wanted to offer her help with her marriage, especially considering she’d never seen her before. However, she was more than willing to listen to what she had to say. After all, she had nothing to lose by doing so. “Well, why don’t you come through, Rumple will be out for a while, so I can close up for a while” she explained, gesturing for Grace to follow her through to the back room of the shop.

"That's probably for the best." Milah said as she followed behind Belle. The idea of Rumple coming back and finding her set her skin crawling. She only wished to warn the younger woman what life would be like married to that man.
