âIt doesnât look like theyâre going to repair my old place, and I canât sleep on your couch forever. I canât just ask Rufus to stay at his place, Dec! Heâd say yes and then Iâd feel bad about asking!â
â
Declan couldnât help but smile in amusement as he watched his big sister ramble on about her predicament. For the first time in his life, Declan was the sibling holding out a lifeline for the other. Was he the responsible sibling out of the two of them now? no, surely not.
â... I could ask himâ Declan replied, his smile still sitting on his lips. âI could make it sound like Iâve had enough of you sleeping on my couch. He wonât suspect a thing, then you wonât have to feel bad about askingâ he continued, not that any of that had been true. If he was honest, Declan had enjoyed having Anna stay with him, it was the most time the two had spent together since living back at home. âEither that or you could upgrade from the couch and share the other room in the flat with Dex, Iâm sure he wouldnât mindâ Declan joked, knowing full well Dexter could hear them from the kitchen.
âIn all seriousness though, you know thereâs no rush for you to leave. Youâre more than welcome to stay as long as you needâ
