i didn’t wanna mention this but iit’s been bothering me so:
noah fence or anything but the people crying “misogyny” over april losing fail to realize that Holostars is currently struggling and being cut off by their own company literally because of misogyny.
this battle has nothing to do with picking a man over a woman, it’s about a majority female fanbase watching something that they love, something that was catered to them, fall apart because of a company and an industry that’s so misogynistic that they don’t think their female-oriented “product” (for lack of a better word, they are real people), deserves to be promoted, supported, or even stand in the same goddamn room as their male-oriented “product”.
no hate to april, she’s amazing and adorable and by all accounts starmin love her. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that bettel winning is some righteous cause, it’s all in good fun, this is just a tumblr poll. but for that reason especially, don’t make this into a man vs woman debate.
Attention fandom!
Heads-up - if anyone has a Twitter that was for a fandom event or zine or knows an artist who left their account up for archive purposes, consider being a bit active or downloading the account and saving it. Otherwise they may disappear for good.
2018 was five years ago let that sink in
no fucking way💀
no no guys you don’t get it i made this fucking post in 2018. as a joke. i was like hah could you imagine it being 2023? could never be me! and then completely forgot until right now when someone reblogged it and i was forced to face the horror that it is, in fact, the year 2023 right now.

Reblog if it is infact, the year 2023 right now
its amazing that after months of people trying to hype new netflix shows only to see them cancelled after one season because they didnt squid game-level pop off, after netflix personally fucking over every animator that's ever worked for them, after netflix trying to squeeze blood from stones by tracking your location to stop password sharing, after hbo burned its entire library for tax purposes, everyone just decided that chatgpt is the main antagonist of the writers strike
that's not true though. the disagreement over generative language models was only one of 20+ points where the WGA and the film industry failed to find an amicable solution.
for anyone not interested in reading the documents pictured at the link above, in short, the WGA proposed a contract that would cost $429 million to implement, while the industry proposed a contract that would cost $86 million to implement and, insult to injury, would allow the employment of writers on a day-to-day basis for streaming content.
that's a huge discrepancy, and the majority of it comes from the industry refusing to fairly compensate writers for the work they do that ends up on (or is exclusively for) streaming services, not from anything related to chatgpt.
[to the tune of YMCA] mothman, there’s no need to feel down I said mothman,
lift that man off the ground
CUZ ITS FUN! TO! SWING! A! HU-MAN!
