The back side of this print indicates it is No. 502 from the series Brighton Cats. Brighton Cats, a series with “more than one hundred [cats] to choose from.” 1872, what a year.
I just uninstalled skype from my pc and phone. I haven’t felt this good since I deleted my fb account.
My first thought when Jyn and Cassian were trying to search the plans were: why aren’t there controlled vocabularies or a searchable index for your files, Empire?!? And then after trigger-happy Tarkin destroyed the archive? Really hoping there’s backup data on different planets scattered throughout the galaxy because if not…gonna side-eye the Empire’s information professionals for not adhering to the Star Wars version of NDSA Levels of Preservation and LOCKSS (lots of copies keep stuff safe).

#TinyTuesday snapshots of artist Jay DeFeo’s cat, Pooh. DeFeo was a Bay Area painter known for her monumental masterpiece “The Rose.” These photos–probably clipped from a contact sheet–were taken in her studio on Fillmore Street in SAN Francisco.
Dead. Fucking dead.
In the days before recorded music, I wonder if nobles ever instructed their chamber musicians to play their latest favorite song like twenty times in a row.
Fun fact: Yes. Yes, they did.
Nobles were the only ones that really listened to music and to hear it you had to actually go to a concert. There wasn’t a such thing as background music yet, and whenever there was music people would listen intently. If a piece was particularly stirring, they would give a standing ovation and they would have to play the same piece over again. I suppose this would happen more than a few times so, maybe not twenty times in a row, but close.
Honestly, what better thing did they have to do with their lives anyway?
What about a terrible song over and over but with another song played once in the middle
“Bard! I wish thee to play ‘What is newe, O Pussy Catte’ twenty times! But, hark! After the seventh play, play ONE ‘It bee notte unusual’”
