Pietro just got a call to head over to the kissing booth. He wasn’t anywhere near there but everyone else seemed to be tied up. He tries not to use his powers as often as possible but who knows what this call could be about. He speeds over to the booth easily sliding through the park. Everyone thinks it’s just the nice summer breeze flying by, not the speedster. He comes up behind the kissers and asks, “So what seems to be the issue here?” There was a fairly long line ahead of the booth, for both boys and girls.

“alright, coraline, it’s okay. you’re okay,” the blue-haired girl muttered to herself as she eyed the various booths and events going on at the carnival. as far as she as aware, she had been pulled here from oregon and now there was a carnival with candy floss and treats and other things that reminded her too much of the other world and mr. bobinsky’s act there. she let out a shaky breath ducking behind a food stand to hide from all the unfamiliar people. her eyes squeezed shut and she shook her head like she was trying to shake certain images out of her head. “you’re okay, you’re okay, you’re okay…”

Pietro was scanning the large crowds for any issues when he saw her. Blue hair and all about to be full panic mode. With out using his powers he crossed over to her and softly asked, “hey, do you need to get some place quiet for a while? I know it can all be a bit much out here.” Pietro made sure that he body language was open and he didn’t put a hand out to touch her just to be safe. “I can walk you to medical and get you something to drink and into some AC.” He gave her a small smile, hoping that she would come with to calm down.

“Well, I hope you enjoy your night then,” Pieto said picking up his beer and walking away. Maybe his friends from work have shown up by now. He nodded his head to the woman he was chatting with as he walked away and into the bustle of the place.

Pietro kept his arm over his sister’s shoulder as they headed off, “it looks like you are doing well. Have you found work? Is someone providing for you?” He was always a little worried about her, not because she wasn’t strong but just because he was her caretaker for so long. Old habits were hard for him to stop.

Another beat. There were small pauses between most everything that Psyduck did. Usually not enough to be off putting, but definitely a little slower than everyone else. Then they nodded, quickly, reaching into their pockets and pulling out a piece of paper and handing it over. “That’s the address.” Written after three attempts due to adjusting to actions like writing for the first time ever. “I wrote it down so I wouldn’t forget.” Or because they knew they would forget. “I think it’s near here.” They said with a quick glance around, but who knew. They were still so new to the city that most everything still looked unfamiliar. “It’s not annoying? Going somewhere you don’t have to go?”

The pauses the girl was taking seemed to go on forever for the speedster, but they couldn’t have been for longer than a moment. he took the paper from her with his kind smile still on. Helping others was always what he wanted to do, it was always the right thing to do. He read the address and shrugged, “your place isn’t too far from the aquatic center that I volunteered at. It’s not too far out of my way.” Pietro smiled and walked beside her, starting to lead her in the right direction. “I like going off my own path every now and then.”

“Maybe tequila just doesn’t have too much of an effect on me because I could drink it all day and be fine the next day.” Kisa laughed with a shake of her head. She wasn’t really much of a drinker but every once in a while she would have herself a drink. “I guess you have a point there”

“Maybe your blood is just thicker than mine,” he said keeping the smile on. “Do you know if they are having a band here tonight? It seems a little busier than normal.” He looked around the place and it seemed to be filling up a little bit more than normal.

.｡.:*☆ Maximoff…. like Wanda. It was an odd coincidence, and Rogue was not sure yet what to think about it. So she just took his hand with her gloved one and nodded. “Rogue. So… are you new here to DC, or have you been living here for a while already?”

“I’ve been here about a year,” Pietro said, “I just found my sister last week. We used to be inseparable. I wouldn’t say co-dependent but just... close.” He wanted to ask why the glove and more about how she couldn’t let loose but all things in time. “It’s good to see that she can do amazing things all on her own, and that we finally have more things to talk about than the past together.” He was always finding the bright side to things these days.

“Damn, you must work out like a beast if you can down an order of cheese fries and still look that fit,” Kennedy chuckled.  “Two orders are probably a good plan, though, and you can finish mine if I don’t.  Personally I’m interested in that sandwich.  The last time I had pulled pork I was in New Orleans, and I’d love to see how different they do it in Washington.”

“I run a lot, so cardio is important,” he says with a smirk. With him being a speedster it was actully really hard for him to eat enough. “And for some reason Washington is also known for it’s BBQ, They have a cook off once a year,” Pietro said before he drank more of his soda. The server came over with a refill and took their starting order, before she walked away Pietro stopped her and said, “could you actully top one of the cheese fries with burnt ends? I just remembered you had them here.” He made sure to thank her and then turned back to Kennedy. “So is it normally stale sandwiches for dinner?”

For no one. “Mean, do not get me wrong, it is nice to unwind now and then. But I do not like what the alcohol could possible do to me, should I end up accidentally having too much of it.”

“So what you’re saying is that you’re a woman with no vice,” he asked raising and eyebrow. With her saying that she didn’t want to lose control it was like his assumption was confirmed. “I’m Pietro by the way,” he offered his hand to her “Pietro Maximoff.”

“Okay, probably a very unpopular choice for many people but Tequila.” Kisa nodded at her own words. “And nothing is better than a proper margarita if you ask me.” She shrugged with a small laugh. But in general she wasn’t the biggest drinker considering what she was but if she was out a glass of wine was also a choice here and there.

“If I’m celebrating and I have no plans the following day then I can absolutely see the delight in tequila,” he teased back. In reality with his speedy metabolism it took far too much to get him drunk, so it was all about the flavors. “I also feel that there are way more drinks you can make with vodka than with tequila. So, the versatility adds in a bit.”

Psyduck’s face furrowed slightly as they tried to consider that. They were being careful? Was that bad? Lucy was always suspicious, snooping out mysteries. Psyduck wanted to do that too. There could be trouble everywhere after all. “Just being careful.” Psyduck finally offered as explanation, still not quite sure why they were explaining themselves in the first place. “I’m trying to make sure nothing happens.” And maybe that was a little nervous and overcautious but that had always been Psyduck, all sorts of stress and nerves. “Oh, going home? That’s what I was trying to do…..I think.” She had already forgotten, but it was late. Where else could she be going? It only made sense at this point to assume she was also going home.

Pietro could tell that the girl was just a little confused so he asked, “Do you have any information on you about where you live? Would it be ok if I walked you the rest of the way home?” He wasn’t wanting them to be afraid and alone if he could help it. He’s always been a protector, first of his sister, then of all the kids that were left homeless after the city was first bombed. Just going a little out of his way wouldn’t be an issue if it meant helping someone. “I really don’t mind keeping you company if you want it.”

Kisa was giving up on ever figuring out how to get out of this place so the best thing for her to do was try to live as normal of a life as possible and just keep her guard up because she still felt like there was something dangerous out there. But for right now she was trying to keep her mind off of it by sitting at the bar, sipping away at a beer. She scrunched her nose at the stranger sitting next to her. “Vodka in general just isn’t that great.”

“What’s your shot of choice,” Pietro asked a little taken aback by her dislike for his favorite. “I think that vodka mixes the best out of anything,” he said honestly as he sipped his beer. To him it was strange that someone would not like the crisp burn of vodka, but back home everyone used the potato for everything. They were cheap and easy to grow.
