23rd Century Romulan Bird of Prey (Not my work)
The particular saucer he is offering her is one I really like; it shows up in my gif creations a lot.
A Mugato from the Star Trek episode “A Private Little War” incurring some serious phaser burn!
Kirk confirming Spock’s tricorder analysis that the planet they are on is artificial from the episode “That Which Survives.”
Prismatic Dragonfly. First spotted in the late 60’s; now believed to be extinct.
(Use of Tumblr filters over sketch of dragonfly).
Something that came from a rough sketch that I finished just now. You may not believe this (or care), but flying saucers are incredibly hard to draw...precisely because they look so simple! (Especially if you are painting with your fingers or thumbs on a tiny screen!). Their perfect symmetry is always challenging my spatial perceptions which are used to drawing irregular objects. Unlike something like a rock, a tree, or a person, what you do to one side of the saucer completely effects all other sides. It’s like trying to draw the perfect circle that has angles attached to it!
Another gif I made around 5 years ago. This time the Martians are deploying their side cannon disintegration weapons. The photo was taken from the internet (obviously). The disintegrator bolts effect I added via Android paint app and gif maker. (Also, I first had to go and clear out about three quarters of the background landscape and then redraw it as faithfully as possible just to get this thing to work!).
Did this by using iPhone paint app to finger paint directly over sketch I had drawn. Background provided by Pixler paint app.
From the 1953 classic “War of the Worlds.” It is a drawing I made of a Martian ground trooper. (Something that was never depicted in the movie). It began as a simple sketch I made on binder paper, later on adding the color and effects with iPhone paint app and downloaded gif maker.

Photo by Chris Levitan, a photographer from Detroit, Michigan. Stunning image of the Capella star taken directly from her telescope. Without any retouching, he just enlarged the image.(Technical data: 60 second single display @ ISO 800… straight from the telescope to the camera… )
