I don't even know where they came from, but they made me think of you.I figured maybe you could use them to help people tell you and Anne-Marie apart. Until your hair grows back properly. Conn: It's not a big deal, Kat!

The coincidence of these two being next to each other makes me unreasonably happy
"Sing it for the world"- Sing- Danger Days- My Chemical Romance. Now, I have drawn a lot, I mean a LOT, of mcr over the years, particularly Danger Days. Some of it is posted here, most of it is in my old notebooks or on the backs of my old homework assignments. Danger Days is one of my top three favorite albums of all time. I have a hand-knit three foot wall hanging of the album cover in my hallway, for crying out loud. I thought that the remaster was quite well done, and I liked the bonus tracks, However. I did really really miss Dr. Death Defying's interludes, and the Japanese in Party Poison. Still, any excuse to listen to Danger Days, I will take it. I wanted to draw something from Sing this time, because I was thinking about it, and I think this song was actually my first introduction to mcr!
"I'm a singer // not a savior"- Prowler- JINX- Waterparks. Waterparks also made an album that has become a favorite of mine (Greatest Hits), and this is the THIRD time they've been here for album of the week, somehow. There are a couple of really good songs on Jinx, but they're all at the very beginning, and then it just completely loses momentum in my opinion. It's not as thematically unified as Greatest Hits, that's for sure, and it's not always the most musical album, but it's fine.
These two albums (specifically the deluxe edition of Danger Days) just happened to be released 2 weeks apart. And I just really, really enjoy the contrast between Sing, the revolutionary anthem about raising your voice along with those around you to fight back against oppression and create a better future, and Prowler, an angry and defensive statement from an individual against the masses. You get me???

Two recent bonus album of the week pages from my pocket-sized sketchbook : )
I know you can't read this in the first one, but it says "but there was no shape that you could not escape // what a fool I was to think that I was safe". This line features in both versions of the song I Built You A Tower, from the album of the same name by Death Cab for Cutie. I enjoyed this album a lot. It's much more upbeat than a lot of dcfc songs I already knew, but at its core it's just as sad and angry. The art isn't necessarily Riddlebat, but I'm also not saying it's not...
2nd one says "I'm just another crash test dummy // I'll love you like a car crash, baby" from Car Crash Baby, from Madeon's new album Victory. I don't typically like a lot of dj music, and I usually can barely tolerate music that has a lot of distortion in it, but I found this album pretty listenable despite those things. Feels like a natural progression for him, musically. I really like that song ft. Slayyyter (and if I had a nickel for every time I'd said that, I'd have two now!)

Week 14: "nothing is a waste if you learn from it"- I Have Made Mistakes- Through the Deep, Dark Valley- The Oh Hello's. It's hard to get a picture of this metallic illustration, but I like it. I tried to make, like, a neural network
Week 15: "no, they never gonna keep us all down"- Heavy Foot- Bloodline- Mon Rovîa. You know I love an immigrant pov album, and this one is also great. It's quite heavy, thematically, but very nice and folksy to listen to
Week 16: "como regresa el viento"- la Foto de los Dos- Corazón Profundo- Carlos Vives. Not to pit two Columbian bad bitches against each other, but I preferred the Juanes album I listened to I think
Week 17: "see it from afar like the prophets in the days of old // see it in the stars, our conclusion has been foretold"- Sinking Boat- Metamorphosis Complete- Infinity song. Shout out to whichever one of you recommend me Infinity Song (I know it was someone from tumblr), I really enjoyed this one! I used whiteout to make the stars on this page, which is why we ended up with snow instead : /
Week 18: "cause people admire persistence... right?"- Right?- Burnout Days- Flipturn. Don't get it twisted: Flipflop? Turtle from Paranatural. Turnaround? Turtle from a computer game I had as a kid. Flipsyde? Fun and funky rap music. Flipturn??? Weird and non-exciting indie music if I'm honest
Week 19: "Ça fait quelques années maintenant // que j'oscille lentement // entre la rage et l'apathie"- Si on sombre ce sera beau- Les Ogres- Solann. The good songs on this album are SO good, and this one was far and away my favorite. I drew Selina Kyle and I think it came out looking good!
Week 20: "Jesus can always reject his father"- Family Tree intro- Preacher's Daughter- Ethel Cain. Good god I hated this album. I thought this one singular line was good for Orion, though (yes, making that two DC arts in a row)
Week 21: "Suddenly someone has pulled out a gun!"- Hits of the Year- Cosi fan Tutti Frutti- Squeeze. Every time I do an 80's album of the week I'm just left feeling very 'meh' about it
Week 22: "Sígueme, sígueme a dónde vamos // traemos el mapa en la mano // voy caminando"- Sígueme- TONATIUH- Xiuhtezcatl Martinez. Again, not all the songs here are good, but boooooy, did I get obsessed with this song in particular! The art didn't come out as cool as it could have if I'd spent more time on it, but I still like it
Week 23: "I'm alive! I'm alive!"- I'm Alive!- Alive!!- BECCA. Summer version of my winter dancing self portrait. This album wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, but it was aight.
Week 24: "So kiss me"- Kiss Me- Sixpence None the Richer on the album of the same name. Look, I took a graduate-level music mixing class, and I still can't put my finger on why exactly I'm saying this, but somehow Kiss Me doesn't sound like anything else on that album and it really bugs me
Week 25: "'Konna sekai ni imi wa nai kara"- Nonsense- 19.- ЯeaL. I liked this one alright!
Week 26: "It isn't rocket science // life isn't meant to be so hard"- Rocket Science- Past // Present // Future- Meet Me @ The Altar. I drew purple coneflowers, my favorite- they're blooming here now!!!
I spent 2024-5 trying to get myself to paint more often, and what I learned from doing that is that I don't like painting! So I've been doing a lot more markers lately and I've been enjoying it a lot

Kat: Ok, so, this is my new friend Alex- she's in Fleet RnD and these are her calculations. According to her, the gravity well will affect our speed more than originally estimated, but not enough to throw us completely off schedule.
