Ted Turner’s death at 87 marks the end of an era for Western conservation. Explore the future of his 13 ranches and the "capital and vision"
“One of the Turner family’s largest properties, the 363,000-acre Armendaris Ranch in south-central New Mexico, is shielded from development by the nation’s second-largest permanent conservation easement.”

I was a course marshal for two stage of the Tour of the Gila. As a course marshal, my job is basically keeping vehicles off the course while the cyclists are racing. But, motorists have different ideas.
The main reason I should let them proceed into the course is because I just need to go right over there. And they point like I know where just over there is. Like distance makes a difference when a peloton is coming down the road.
What is not understood is that just because you cannot see the racing going on in front of your face, does not mean you don’t need to stay where the fuck you are.
My job is protecting the cyclists.
They’re a lot closer than that.
May 1, 1994. A day I’ll never forget. As a general rule, I taped F1 races to watch later, because they started at 4 am on the west coast. Plus, I liked to party on Saturdays. For some reason on this morning, I was awake at 4am.
I can still see the crash in my minds eye. I also knew he was dead.
RGF fully expects the taxpayer-funded childcare scheme cooked up by Gov. Lujan Grisham and Democrats in the Legislature to become a nightmar
Looks like we have our very own Minnesota right here in New Mexico.
Watching the USA win the gold medal is a win for every hockey parent in America.
We all dragged our asses to the rink.
We all spent hours freezing our asses off.
We all spent hours driving to a a 6 am start time.
I’m happy for them.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham plans to sign it into law.
“In one of the only comments lawmakers issued from the floor of the House Tuesday, Rep. Gail Armstrong (R-Magdalena) said that entering the compact will make it exceedingly easy for New Mexico doctors to leave the state unless lawmakers also enact meaningful medical malpractice reform.”
It seems only one politician gets how this will continue the erosion of providers, unless they limit malpractice awards.

This is Lynn from AAA travel. We have cruises…
I don’t go on cruises, they’re just floating Petri dishes.
She laughed.
Feds in Philly have charged dozens of people, including players, in a scheme to fix NCAA and Chinese basketball games
“The operation involved 39 players on more than 17 Division 1 teams, prosecutors said, with bettors wagering millions of dollars on at least 29 different games.”
Applications are due by Feb. 27, 2026, at 5 p.m. MST.
This is how corruption works in New Mexico.
The trial lawyers pay off Santa Fe to raise the malpractice awards to 6 million, per person, from 600K per case. The lawyers also keep New Mexico out of the interstate compacts, because they require binding arbitration, instead of litigation.
Now, the State offers 1 million of the billions they have cost medical providers for favorable news coverage.
