i think that the anime/avemygo-only perception of the "new generation" of avemygo being groundbreaking for music anime and bang dream isn't entirely accurate and i think it kinda discounts a lot of how the writers have approached the series pre-avemygo
some things are genuinely groundbreaking!! the huge ARG and stage play stuff that people who aren't me bust their ass translating and analyzing
but like what if i told you tomori's or raana's autism is NOT the only 100% damning depiction of autism in bandori (and not only for one character who isn't tomori or raana but for Three Others which all present differently and clearly) what if i told you soyo is not the first or the most standout depiction of characters being presented with nuance and being allowed to have negative traits in the series (though she IS the first with probably bpd) what if i told you avemuji isn't the first band to portray a more cynical or grounded view of professional music AND WHAT IF IN FACT i posited that mygo is less grounded than popipa in terms of their Music Journey. what if i told you this
i love avemygo so much anon and mortis are two of my fav characters in the series but i promise (holds your hands so tight) i PROMISE the rest of the band's stories are interesting & compelling PLEASE TRUST ME I LOVE YOU
