"K-Kanryu Takeda?!" The redhead stared in disbelief at the figure before him. It'd been many years since their last encounter. Kenshin was surely not prepared for this unexpected meeting, but greeted him back nonetheless. Being polite was never a bad thing to do.

"And you as well, Takeda-dono. I see you're back on the streets now, de gozaru."

The samurai runs a hand through his bright red hair in sheepish gratitude.

"O-Oro?" A confused Kenshin stands still as he is suddenly hugged.

A laugh escapes his lips. "I am most definitely fine, de gozaru! I hope you are doing fine as well." A smile appears once again on his face as he hopes for the best for this young individual.

"Oro? Ah, thank you, de gozaru, though I am not sure what made you give me such a generous compliment." He nervously smiled, scratching his head at the same time.

"Kanryuu Takeda? Hmm, that was quite a while back, if I remember correctly. Ah yes, the man with the gun from the west. Well, it was certainly a new battle for me. Western weapons are more foreign to me than the standard sword, so it was definitely a new challenge. And, well, it was quite intense overall. It really tested my speed and agility."

"Indeed, de gozaru," he happily remarked. Kenshin chuckled to himself. Kaoru's notoriety for being a horrible cook had not faded since the "Kenshin-gumi" had formed. She was notoriously known thorughout Tokyo for having poor cooking skills though, to Kenshin, they weren't half as bad.

"Ah, thankfully he has you to cover for de gozaru. You are of great help to the doctor. No wonder your reputation has been rising." Kenshin smiled. Megumi-san was truly a remarkable woman in his eyes. After escaping the grips of the opium industry, with a little push from him and Sano, she was able to quickly get back onto the right track and move on with her life. Her skills were top-notch and everybody loved her. Her presence, itself, made you feel comfortable enough to know that sicknesses would not prevail for long.

"Ah! I have something for Ayame-chan and Suzume-chan de gozaru. If you don't mind, is it possible for you to bring these to them?" Kenshin took out two small charms in the silhouettes of a bird and a baby tiger.

Megumi restrain her laughter so as not to offend Kenshin that stating his high body size, Megumi is the women that much higher than Kenshin after all. However, she felt very happy to meet with such a healthy Kenshin.

“I’m very pleased to meet with you Ken-san. My busy making me rarely visited the dojo anymore.”

"Ah, yes, I can understand that you would be busy, especially since your reputation has risen over the past few years de gozaru. But, your company at the dojo does make things more lively." Kenshin was truly happy that Megumi put in time to visit the dojo, since things have been quieting down, though Kaoru seemed to getting more students by the day.

"How is Doctor Genzai-dono doing de gozaru? I haven't seen him in a while, either. He only comes over sometimes with the children when they have time to play."

“As usual, I was so busy taking care of patients here, what about you, Ken-san? Are you healthy?”

"Yes, I am very healthy de gozaru. In fact, I think I may have been growing a bit!" he answered excitedly, having had trouble with his height for many years.

Though the punch was out of affection, it still hurt. "Ow!" The samurai rubbed his shoulder in brief pain. "Was that really necessary, de gozaru?" he said, looking up and eyeing the former "fighter-for-hire".
