Little late in wishing everyone a Happy Ganesha Chaturthi!
What's your favorite name of Lord Ganesha? Mine's Ekadantaya!
I haven't prayed in about a year. It feels peaceful.

Furthermore a dress code was in place, which is fine. No dresses or skirts above knee length.
The problem is when they only enforced it on only girls who have hit puberty by making them wear a bright orange wrap. And everyone who works there are clearly looking, judging, and laughing at you.
You also have to pay a deposit to wear the wrap and they make it so hard to find where to return the article that unless you spend a good amount of time looking, you basically gave the temple another donation.
Along with my last post about the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple:
Swami Vivekananda did not go to Chicago to tell the world about the "One True Dharma". He spoke about accepting all religions as paths to God. You're implying exactly the opposite message he wanted to send.
The installment about the woman in Hinduism always mentioned who the woman was a daugther of or who she was married to. One of the plaques even said that this figure was a great example of how EVEN A WOMAN can be a great Hindu figure.
So much for a modern temple.
The Swaminarayan Akshardham temple in Delhi is more like an amuesment park than a legitamite temple, in my opinon.
The temple and grounds are gorgeous and well maintained, but it just screams business to me.
Like it has a Coca Cola sponsorship....

The Mother of Destruction, Kali.
still blown away by this piece -
Kali and Durga
Chamunda Devi Temple, Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh
My two cents.
I suggest taking a college course on Hinduism, reading about the history and politics of India and its various areas, and possibly going to a pilgrimage site before making a cultural appropriation blog on tumblr. (Or anywhere for that matter.)
I am all for defending our culture (I was one of the non-white and non-Christian kids for at least 100 miles where I grew up), but when you're extremely rude and can't tell the difference between Durga and Kali, it completely ruins your already weak researched argument.
Please be civil and have a solid debate.
