Sam closed his eyes and smiled tiredly when Julia wiped away the suds running down his face. The soap was beginning to sting his eyes so he ran his face under the spray of the water, and them moved to rinse out his hair.

"Thank you for giving me what I needed," Sam slurred. "Staying was the least I could do," he said honestly. He smiled down at Julia.

"Well that stays between us Sam" she reminded. Her body slid down the wall as she sat on the floor of the tub and allowed the water the hit her. "I'm done when you are" she spoke after a moment.

   ”Hey— it’s your day. We’re not going to talk about me. Today it’s all about you, yeah?”

"Fine. And today is not all about me. My cat's birthday is today too."

Sam let Julia move him under the spray of the water, both of them having to stand rather close to each other to both get wet. He stood still, standing with his hands at his side, his head tilted slightly down, shoulders slumped as the water pelted him. The drugs in his system made every water drop distinct, and before he knew it, his greasy hair was drenched, his bangs moving into his eyes, matted down to his forehead.

When Julia pointed out the shampoo, Sam thanked her, reached a long arm out, and squeezed a dollop into the center of his palm. He rubbed his hand together for a moment before moving his arms up, lathering the suds into his hair and scalp. A dopey smile spread across his face as his senses picked up on just how great everything felt at that moment- even the suds that got in his eye didn’t hurt too bad.

She could hear his heart pounding and had matched each breath she took to the thud against her ear. She could smell the shampoo and sigh as she felt herself grow tired. Looking up at Sam she couldn't help but smile. Reaching her hand up she wiped at the soap that had gotten on his forehead running her hands under the water to get rid of the suds.

Scratching at her arms Julia leaned back against the shower wall with a sigh. The bruises on her body becoming more prominent as the water hit them. "Thank you for staying with me."

Sam smiled as he felt her hand slot next to his. He wrapped his shaking fingers around hers and followed her as she walked down the hall into the bathroom. the click of the door sounded so much fainter than he was used to, and by the time he turned around to face Julia, she was smiling at him.

He then noticed the steam filling the room, skittering across the ceiling like a morning fog to slither down the walls. The empty space was quickly filling with hot air and it made Sam’s lungs work over time to get the air he needed but Sam didn’t mind. The feeling, mixed with his high, felt relaxing.

"Okay," he said with a dopey smile. He undid his jeans and pushed them down. Stomping lightly to get the thick fabric off of his legs before he moved to his shirt. He peeled off his shirt and was confused for a moment before he realized that his hoodie was on the floor somewhere in the living room. He shrugged and pulled of his boxers.

"Now you," he said, his smile wild.

Taking his hand once more she stepped into the shower, pulling Sam behind her as she let the water hit her skin. A sigh left her lips as she relaxed. Skin turning red as she absorbed the hot water.

Turning around she looked up at Sam, water falling down his face and hair moving in his eyes she smiled. "Shampoo is behind you" she spoke out before resting her head on his chest allowing the water to hit her.

"No," Sam breathed, his lungs heavy with air. "No come with me, please," Sam nearly begged. Showering with someone else always made him happy, especially when he was in the clouds.

He stood and waited until the room stopped spinning before going towards the hall.

Standing she didn't bother to wait for the throbbing pain in her head to cease, taking his hand she was guiding him towards the shower. She loved to shower, if she wasn't lying on that couch she was most likely in the shower. No one questioned it just accepted it.

Locking the door behind them she stripped out of the clothes that were sticking to her skin. Turning on the shower she sighed, leaning against the wall behind her as she waited for the water to heat up. Her eye lids felt heavy as she felt exhausted.

Looking up at Sam she gave a small smile as the steam filled the room. "After you then?"

Sam smiled as she made a satisfied face, leaning back and playing patterns into the skin of his arm that overrode his nervous system. He smiled a wide, doped up smile and watched her hand, mesmerized.

"That sounds nice," Sam said. He ran a hand through his greasy hair and sighed. "When? Because I could use one soon," he admitted. Besides, taking showers high was always a fun thing to do.

She stayed silent after he spoke, enjoying the movement of his chest as it rose and fell with every breath he took.

"Whenever you want to" she answered not attempting to move. "It's down the hall second or third door on your right, either doesn't matter. Would you prefer to be alone?" She hoped he said no, she never handled being alone well when she was high.

"Seems we can never get together under casual circumstances," he replied, forcing a small laugh. Wrapping his arm around her, he lead her back down the street and towards his flat.

When they began to walk she realized she had no idea where they were. "Da-Logan, where are we going?"

"Your brother’s manners are even worse then yours" River replied snidely, "And the last time I checked you were the one who practically begged me to let you come along" She let out a  heavy sigh, shaking her head, too proud to offer an apology of her own. 

"Got anything stronger? I’m afraid it’s been a trying day for me as well"

"You haven't seen the half of it. We are worse when we are together I can promise you." Rolling her eyes she shrugged off River's next comment. "Never make that mistake again I can assure you."

When asked if they had anything stronger she shook her head. "Mum doesn't keep alcohol in the store" she exclaimed.

He smiled at the fact that even now, he could recognize her, and recall her name. Once he was up, he stretched a bit, groaning softly. “Must’ve been there longer than I thought.” Tony sighed, with a slight laugh. “No hospitals.” he requested. “Don’t trust ‘em, know too much to.” he explained. “I’m fine, anyway.” he nodded, though as he tried to walk away from the scene, he managed to stumble a bit. While truthfully, he wished to just go home, and try again later, he saw her smile, and decided to mimic it, and nod. “Tea would be lovely, dear.”

She nodded and helped him keep his balance. "You can lean on me if you need to, my older brother does I don't mind" she then went silent not knowing exactly what to say. Instead she focused on him, making sure he was okay. When they got out of the building she turned to him. "Which way?"
