Rush

Spring semester's around the corner, which also means Spring Rush is coming up. I can't even tell you how many people have told me to rush a frat. I do admit, I'm a pretty outgoing person and I'd love to rush, but it's not easy for me.

Everyone knows most of my friends are girls, and a good amount of my guy friends are gay. That's just the way it's always been. I always say I want more straight guy friends, but it's always been hard for me. Not because we don't get along, which we do, but because I can never open up to guys like I do with girls. I'm always afraid of their judgement and denial because I'm not straight. I grew up being called a fag and a homo so it's not my first instinct to go and spew my thoughts to guys. Because of all of this, there's always an overwhelming sense of insecurity that I can never shake.

I guess long story short is, I don't want to rush because it'd be hard for me to feel any sense of belonging, but no one seems to understand why and it kinda hurts. Makes me feel even more alone
