Do not worry, pup, no offense was taken. He told her in a soft, but reassuring voice. He was tempted to close his eye and just enjoy the gentle petting, but he knew better to let his guard down, even if his hearing would have told him of any danger long before he saw it. He moved his head forward slightly to allow her hand to run up the bridge of his snout. No, no, you will probably not come across a wolf my size. Though I can not really give you an answer as to why I am so large. It’s just how I am.

When she opened them, she glanced at his other eye, closed with a scar running down its middle. She was, without a doubt, curious, but decided not to tread on such topics, now that she had seen how easily people could get upset by commenting or messing with their appearance. ] That's good... [ Her voice was just above a whisper, as she didn't want to break the peaceful spell that had come upon the two of them. 

Her hand, as if understanding what the wolf wanted, gently stroked his snout. Eto kept variety in mind, changing from zig zag patterns to swirly patterns to simple, straight patterns. ] I see...You said you came from a pack, right...? Were they like you, or are you the only big one among them?

As he was pet the tail of his thumped lightly against the ground and he titled his head slightly, bumping his cold nose against her arm. Hmm, thank you, I take great pride in my fur. I don’t have the most luxurious fur out of all the wolves, but I do try to clean it as often as I can. Marrok spoke keeping his eye on the child. It had been many, many moon since Marrok last let a human touch him like this. But then again it wasn’t like he had human’s running up and begging to be able to pet him. Are you enjoying yourself? he asked, though there was a little playful sarcasm in his voice.

[ At the bump, she smiled and gave his nose a few pats. To give it some love as well! ] I see! 

[ His sarcasm, quite frankly, flew over her head. Eto nodded quickly, beaming. ] Mm...Yes! I am! It feels like a while since I've touched an animal like this, you know...? [ She paused, realizing that what she just said was kind of...off. ] Ah, not to offend you or anything-- if you took offense..!!

I'm also wondering...why are you so tall? Are all wolves this big?

Hearing her question Marrok flickered his ears forward and back slightly. Almost as if thinking about her request and the oddity of it to him. After a moment a thought Marrok leans forward, resting his chin in between his large paws. He snorted against the ground, kicking up some dust and almost blowing a piece of his clothing away. I am not a Dog, Eto I am a wolf, we are proud creatures, Marrok tells her, the words rolling out from deep within his throat in  a low growl. However, I will allow this as long as you keep this in mind. I am not some house pet, I am a child of the wild. As he spoke, his single golden eyes never left her.

[ She nods quickly. So that means I shouldn't go all willy nilly petting him, right...? ] I got it. I got it, Mr Marrok. [ Carefully raising her hand, she gently and calmly ran her palm on the fur on his side, marvelling at the warmth and softness. The excitement within her rose a bit -- it was strange how being close to or touching an animal felt so special! ] 

Your fur sure is soft, Mr Marrok! [ She grinned, patting him. It was difficult to resist hugging him like a giant pillow! He was just so warm and soft! ]

You see, you see, I’ve always tried to grow my hair out! To be long and pretty like those heroines in tv shows and comics and stuff! But it -

- kept getting caught on things. Like doors. And zippers. And cats. Ah, well, it didn’t get caught on cats, they’d try to grab at it, that’s what I meant! And so this way, it doesn’t cause any problems!

Nope!! This is my first time!!! Back home… I didn’t really have any friends, so a cellphone wasn’t really needed! I only got a cellphone when I moved into the area! For work and stuff, you know…

… but now, I can officially say I use it to contact friends also!! I never really had much use for a cellphone until now, so this is really special to me!! Thanks again, Eto! AHHHH—!!! We should take a picture for your contact photo!! (●⌒∇⌒●)

[ Being in a city where it’s always night has its cons.

For one, it was always, well, dark. Which meant the lights always had to be on. Which was a real killer on the electrical bill. ]

Well, I guess that there is that… But there’s also the issue of how often we’ll have to buy candles, who will be responsible for buying them, who will be responsible for lighting them when they burn or blow out…

Ah! I’m sorry! I just started really thinking about it I guess… We probably wouldn’t be able to do it in every district. Maybe just the smaller ones that have more people…

Then again, the people in the working district could just light the candles for their own shops…

Oh, don’t worry! Now I see what we’d have to do! And I don’t think we have to worry too much about the rich district, since I’ve heard that they’ve already got super cool things like hovercrafts and all! So money probably isn’t an issue for them…!

But for the lower district, I think we could try to get people to use candles in their homes…? What do you think?

How many would go to each? You would also have to consider the fact that the houses would also need candle holders so that nothing caught fire…

Also are we talking about only buying candles for homes or for the streets as well?

Ahh...You bring up a lot of good points...! [ Aaahhh, it sure is a lot to think about... ] For holders, we can buy ones that can be used over and over again! And...the number of candles really depends on the size of the place, right?

...Thinking about it now, it's not really right to force people to use them if they don't want to. Especially since there are many different kinds of people, here. Maybe some of them would have a problem with fire...

Plus, depending on us to provide them with light isn't the best thing, either..! Maybe this should really be a personal choice...
