do you have any tips for rendering art like you do?? I really like your completed pieces and I'm trying to learn anything and everything I can
i usually just wing it, but when it comes to blending colors, instead of using the smudge tool, i lower the brush opacity, and most of the time im only using two brushes: a hard custom brush (that depends on the style im going for) and a soft airbrush. i also tend to plan the colors beforehand so i dont have to worry about that when rendering.
some general tips like using references, zooming out and taking breaks often also help a lot
this started as me wanting to draw a few friends' characters and ended up taking me waay too long
Im gonna talk a lot more about it under the cut, warning i talk a lot
Ok so who's who?
Mine's the dark blue inkling with an octoling haircut bc i have the power of art and i can do whatever i want (i actually wanted them to be green but i couldnt make it work)
The pink one holding the sea cucumber phone is Yukasi (we dont actually call him by that). He's also a competitive splatoon player, and he uses the eliter and the tacticooler a lot (both are in the piece for that reason) his character is female tho
Next up Noa, the orange one holding a can from the tacticooler. Not much stuff about her but i really like how her expression turned out
Lastly Chris, the cyan one with a fox mask holding the brella. He didnt even complete the tutorial of the game. He's just there bc he made a banger character
Ok thats way more talking than what i usually do bye
working on a new piece (there's 3 more characters in this one)
im also focusing on improving instead of making content so yeah im not posting every 3 days
