Jean discovers Neil's scrapbook about Kevin. He looks through the pages of photos and analyses, clearly upset. When Neil catches Jean with his scrapbook, he doesn't even have the decency to look embarrassed.

"Oh, well… I also have one of Andrew, you know?" Neil excuses himself.

Jean tries to follow Neil's thought process. He can't. Not even in his worst moments, in the throes of his teenage crush on Kevin, would he have ever considered doing something so crazy.

Knowing Neil's schizoid, psychopathic behavior, Kevin and Andrew should perhaps be worried.

Then Neil pulls out another scrapbook.

Jean pinches the bridge of his nose.

"I don't want to see Andrew's damn scrapbook, Neil. You're sick."

"Don't talk nonsense. Why would I show you Andrew's scrapbook?" Neil asks indignantly.

He hands his the new scrapbook with that smile of a killer locked up in a mental institution.

"This is your scrapbook."

Jean tries to keep his voice steady as he says,

"...If you come any closer, I'll scream."

Do you think Jean talks to children like Jeremy talks to dogs. Not in the baby talk voice, but in something softer than his usual tone. I’m just imagining like a young girl or boy in the Trojans stands, cheering for Jean, of all people, and though Jean tenses, he can’t ignore them. And his demeanor just…changes when he’s with them. He’s kinder, and gentle, and just—so good with them. Asking questions and high fiving them, and maybe he’s a little stiff, at first. But it’s muscle memory.

And then Jeremy remembers why Jean is so good with them, and why it’s muscle memory, the fondness in his chest turns into an ache.

Kevin Day was abused and anyone who says he wasn’t is part of the problem. Kevins abuse keeps getting minimised by the fandom. But id like you to remember following quote. “I’ll enjoy hurting you like i enjoyed hurting Kevin” so… the way Neil was treated at the nest for 2/3 weeks was more similar to how Kevin was treated then how jean was, and its important to me that you know that.

there's actually nothing in aftg that contradicts kandreil happening after the ravens match. like, nothing in the sunshine books, and in fact i think it's almost implied from the way neil follows kevin outside of the courthouse has implications.

this is neil, who couldn't look away from andrew if his life depended on it at times during the fox books, but at a time when andrew is most vulnerable and he had clearly made up his mind to follow andrew, he changes his mind and follows kevin instead. idk it feels like that means something.

when kevin gets his queen tattoo, andreil make out about it for literally hours, they're pent up and turned on from the very idea of kevin showing evidence that he's an independent person who can make his own choices that aren't based on fear. for andrew, who needs to trust that consent is not just said but meant, this is an enormous deal. for neil, who couldn't see past his obsession with andrew to remember his obsession with kevin, it means almost as much

completely canon compliant that after the book finishes they bring kevin into their weird and intense dynamic! especially because andrew has no reason to protect kevin anymore but he sure follows kevin to california, on a plane which he hates and to a place that he hates, because their dynamic has not got any less freak4freak

nora might have removed the explicit kandreil from the books but with the most half-hearted erasing in history. you simply cannot look at these three like they have a normal dynamic!

I need so much kandrew angst in the queen's game. Give me Kevin trying to pull away from Andrew, thinking that now their deal is done and Andrew has Neil it's all over. Kevin leaving the dorms and practice without telling Andrew first or where he is going. Kevin suddenly stumbling into their dorm room late at night, with hickeys and way too drunk for Andrew's comfort. Give me Kevin pulling away from Andrew before Andrew can pull away from him. It took Kevin a long time, but he's gotten better at leaving.

Give me Kevin who flinches when Andrew gets near and an Andrew who wants to break something every time it happens. Because Andrew doesn't feel regret, doesn't believe in it, but the broken shards of Kevin's trust are sharper than he'd realized in those early months when he'd been focused on putting Neil together after Baltimore to notice Kevin slipping farther and farther away (almost at the same pace as the fingerprint bruises vanished from his neck).

I just KNOW jerejean get in the car after a function and start shit talking. Maybe it’s obvious that they both are pissed off but Jeremy still refuses to be a jerk more often than not, so Jean tests the waters with a “well he was fucking annoying” and Jeremy’s like “Jean!!” And Jean’s like “are u gonna look at me and tell me that I’m wrong ?!?” And Jeremy’s like . “Well no, but—“ and Jean raises his eyebrows, waiting for more, and Jeremy tentatively is like “well he did sound like he’s never been told no in his life, and maybe he hasn’t been , considering the ppl around him were so far up his ass they haven’t seen the sun in years.” And Jean laughs a little , and Jeremy laughs too, and then they continue to quip back and forth all the way home

Jeremy Knox purposely sizes up when he buys hoodies just fyi. He likes the extra baggage; it’s the only way he can play pretend that a guy has actually let him borrow the piece of clothing and with no prompt demand for it back.

Jeremy accidentally lets this slip one day, just in the middle of casual convo and banter with his friends. His freckled ears burn a bit of a rosy red but they just laugh at his admission; not the reasoning itself (alright, Cat does.)

Anyway long story short: Jeremy let’s this lil secret about his clothing preferences slip and the next day, he wakes up to one of Jean’s USC hoodies already folded neatly at the end of his bed. Jeremy peers at it in wonder, taking a min or two just to feel the fabric. He presses the cotton to his face and smells it; it smells very mildly of the lavender detergent and clean soap that Jean likes to use. Jeremy smiles a little.

When he comes out into the kitchen a bit later with the overwhelmingly large hoodie on, the girls exchange knowing lil looks and Jean, who has already taken up his usual post at the stove making breakfast, gives a little “hm” noise of approval. Jeremy sees something glinting in his eyes; he can’t decide if it’s want or need or even a little bit of further curiosity. Jean has already turned his gaze away, focusing on the task at hand while Jeremy gets settled at the island.

Jean may not have looked at him in the familiar borrowed hoodie for long, but that’s fine. All the same Jeremy gets to wonder if the Frenchman knows that there’s a nice, light dusting of blush crept across his cheekbones, lovingly settling overtop of his tattoo. If Jean does feel the heat, he doesn’t acknowledge it.

He and Jeremy catch gazes when Jean opts to serve Jeremy his breakfast plate first, though, and the smile Jeremy flashes Jean and the way he fists some of the loose hoodie material in his hand, stroking it fondly, has that nice rouge so slowly crawling down Jean’s neck, too.

Jeremy isn’t positive: but he thinks that Jean also likes the idea of him in clothing like this. His.

i think it'd be hilarious if aaron and katelyn broke up over something silly and stupid but specifically in a post-tkm world after the twinyards have broken their deal and are actively still going to therapy together. and like, obviously aaron is not telling anyone about the breakup, especially andrew, who would be proven right if he did, but eventually it comes out anyway, and andrew doesn't say i told you so, but aaron sees it in his eyes. he knows it's there. so then he goes on to explain that the breakup was fine and not even that life-ruining or whatever (he's miserable btw), then he proceeds to try and prove how Totally Fine he is by dating other girls. and andrew does not like literally any of them. what's worse, he calls all of them "not-katelyn", which is the first time he's ever addressed katelyn as anything other than "the cheerleader" and aaron is furious about this obviously bc by now he can somewhat understand andrew-speak (enough to get by, at least) and after alllll of that fucking drama, here is where it comes out that deep down, very deep, andrew secretly approves of katelyn for aaron and therefore finds any other girl he gets with unacceptable. he runs all of them off and he doesn't even have to threaten them. he just repeatedly reinforces that they're Not Katelyn and makes sure they know they do not measure up to her in any way whatsoever. he enjoys himself with it, actually. it does come back to haunt him, however, when katelyn and aaron get back together and katelyn is like "so i heard im your favorite forever" and never, ever lets him live it down

hc Neil actually chooses to go vegan/vegetarian and people who dont know him think he’s a Pretentious Diet Restriction person and mockingly ask if its to save animals or an athlete thing.

cut to them looking traumatized for life after Neil explains in explicit details all the way he has seen his father open, dissect and dismember people, off handedly mentioning he’s been forced to eat human meat before so yeah it sorta ruined all meats for me

Obsessed with Aaron pulling on Andrew's heart strings by saying "twin I need you" or "brother, I need a favor"

And Aaron finds out why Andrew doesn't like the word "please" so he uses synonyms like "humor me" or "if you wouldn't mind"

And Aaron practices his doctor voice and professional persona to Andrew who brutally honest rates him on how awkward/comforting/or fake he sounds cuz Aaron has to work on bedside manner and trusts Andrew to tell him the truth

that dude has probably had very limited normal human interaction until he reached the foxes. even then, he mostly stuck around near andrew. he's media trained, we're all well aware of that. he knows how to give a dazzling smile and some pretty words when asked about exy.

but make him order his own coffee? and he's stumbling over his own words. he perfects one order, and it's all he orders because he's scared to try something new. if the barista makes small talk with him, he's red and nervous and tries to never return to that shop because he's too embarrassed.

he joins a study session for a course that he just cannot study for properly? he nods along and listens to the officiators of the study session, but he's too shy to ask questions. he's shaking his knee and twirling his pencil, and then he goes to his dorm and realizes that he barely got any more studying than usual done.

let him learn normal everyday human interactions. let him make personal goals in his fourth and fifth years: one non-exy interaction a week. he'll compliment a classmate's hair, he'll ask a question at the study session, and he'll order a new drink he never has before. and some day in the future, he stops thinking of it as a checklist.

I have the mental image of Kevin being interviewed and hearing the most vile, most despicable and cruel comment about his team.

And he could say something about it but Kevin decides that no no I’m going to express my displeasure by doing something even worse.

So Kevin slowly turns to where Neil is standing off side beside Andrew, takes a few steps back and gestures for him to go.

“You have 5 minutes.”

The smile on Neil’s face tells the interviewer they have seriously messed up but there’s no one to save them now.
