Part of my layout upgrade is new Atlas code 83 TrueTrack so I’m selling off all the Life-Like track I’ve collected this year. Grab it cheap…ends September 7, 2013
We launch our premiere issue, August 2013, on Friday, July 19th. Go to www.tracksidemodelrailroading.com to download a free copy.
The HO layout at Gotham Model Railroad
Finally visited this store located on the 13th floor of a building in the shadow of the Empire State Building. Small but a choice stock of trains at decent prices.
Train Set at the Museum of Science and Industry
Whether or not you’re a train aficionado, you’ll want to check out the $3.5 million model train display at the Museum of Science and Industry. In addition to the Metra trains and ‘L’ trains, you’ll get to see Chicago scenes in miniature!
I have started to collect the HO versions of the commuter trains my son had wooden versions of. I have found a couple of nice pieces so now it’s time to get serious about building a real layout.
Just a couple months after Christmas (OK it was only January) I came across this and couldn’t resist (especially at $25).
When Christmas 2012 came around, I was ready score an electric Amtrak for him. Harder to do than expected without dropping hundreds of dollars (I knew they would be roughed up). eBay came through with this Life-Like complete starter set. Needless to say it was a big hit with my son (and it gave me the train hobby bug too).
Growing up in Brooklyn, my son has loved trains from first sight. Before the age of 4, he had already collected the complete NYC subway lines, NJ Transit, Metro-North and LIRR of wooden railway trains (the drawers in this train table hold what you don’t see + a couple Chicago CTA and Philadelphia SEPTA cars).
