Headcanon: Penmanship

Steven has really nice penmanship. His handwriting is art. He writes in easy to read cursive. Calligraphy is a hobby of Steven’s. Anyone who see’s his handwriting observes it to be neat, beautiful, and some of the best handwriting they’ve ever seen. Due to having elegant penmanship, his signature is difficult to copy.

In a moment of thought, she considers whether to let this slide or not. Well, there’s no helping him if he doesn’t want her to know.

“I have been good, thank you. Though sometimes it feels like the people get more and more demanding… I’m able to handle it. What about you, Steven? Have you discovered anything new lately?”

“Glad to hear it. Well, my schedule has cleared up quite a bit since since being out of the Hoenn league and all. It’s been quite nice, actually.” Well- for the most part. But he won’t burden her. “I’ve been able to travel the world again, do some soul searching.”

Steven slides his hands into his pockets. “I hope your Championship hasn’t been wearing you down.”

as soon as they hit the water’s edge, he smiles at his boyfriend as he slowly slides off his outer shirt and pants–revealing his usual elaborate bathing suit underneath. any excuse to show his toned arms and his stacked abs in front of the one he loves. letting the sun shine on his hair and in the grooves of his muscles, he gives a small toss of his hair–then takes out three poké balls and throws them at the edge of the water, revealing primarina, gorebyss and whiscash. he hasn’t spent a lot of quality time with these pokémon in a while; now is the best chance.

Damn- does he look good. It’s not fair why is he so hot? He takes such great care of himself with such perfect hair, abs- smile... Meanwhile Steven is such a twig who can’t put on an ounce of weight to save his life- he tried once. His ability to eat endless amounts of food without without packing the pounds could be envied. But alas- he struggles to keep warm in cold environments.

Steven hadn’t taken off his thin white sweater quite yet. His sunglasses shielding his eyes from the sunlight. Alright- time to feel cold for 5 minutes- he slides off his sweater running a hand through his hair. Compared to Wallace, Steven is a twig.

Diantha and Steven have known each other for years, and she knows like none else what it’s like to keep up a happy face for the crowds when in reality, you want to do nothing but lay in bed and act like the world doesn’t exist. She knows, and she notices the stiffening posture, the way his jaw tightens the slightest bit-

Coming to a halt next to him, she puts a gentle yet firm hand on his shoulder. “Steven, what is it you’re thinking about?” The least she can do is try to be here for him when he needs it, right?

Steven’s breath haults when he feels a hand on his shoulder. To his relief- it’s only Diantha. “Oh, Diantha. It’s good to see you.” He smiles brushing aside his thoughts to have a nice conversation instead. 

“It’s-” Right- he still has his stickpin in his hand. He places it back onto his coat. “I was just thinking about- well- it’s nothing, really. It’s been awhile since I’ve last seen you. How’ve you been?”

The former Hoenn Champion stands in front of Anistar City’s Sundial. Such a peculiar sundial- yet it was so stunning. Once, Steven looked at it with awe and respect. Now? He can’t look at it the same. It has a connection to Mega Evolution, no? This- sundial, the way it spiked at the tips appeared as if it sprouted from the ground invading the world just as the war 3,000 years ago resulting in splitting of time and thousands of lives lost- just like the meteor that nearly struck Hoenn- and that he nearly sent to hurt thousands more... As his thoughts spiraled out of control, he twirls his mega stickpin between his fingers.

[Because I feel it’s relevant, I am revisiting the Pokemon Timeline I made for an old dead blog I have 0 intention of bringing back and oh god... just from my experience of playing and general interactions, I don’t think it’s accurate anymore. I want to say that ORAS takes place 2-4 years prior to X&Y and not the 11-13 years like I originally believed. I know other sources may say otherwise, but I’m also founder and CEO of the Fuck Canon Committee, so I can make whatever timeline I want.]

he stands up from his computer, and follows steven. for a coordinator known to always be on his feet he’s been spending an awful lot of time on the computer lately; it’s really not good for his wrists.

      ❝we could go for a dive, perhaps?❞

      “ All work and no play makes Wallace a dull boy~ ” he hums with a grin.

Thank god he’s listening. The two step side by side outside into the sunlight. Steven spares no time to put on sunglasses shielding icy eyes from the light.

      “ Whatever you want. I have no objections. ”

“ For the love of- ” Steven runs a hand through his hair. “ How many times do I have to tell you to take a break every once in awhile? ” 

Despite being a powerful trainer himself, he hadn’t dared to take challenge the title of Champion himself. He would leave the politics to Wallace. Besides- he wouldn’t dare challenge Wallace. Steven knew damn well he’s outmatched. 

“ Alright, that’s it- we’re going out. Let’s get some fresh air. ”

Headcanon: Heir to President

The decision for Joseph to retire and make Steven president of Devon wasn’t done overnight. It began when Joseph noticed his son having financial issues despite have an ample trust fund. Astonished that his son’s bank account was empty- he called him to find out how Steven spent all his money. Turned out Steven had taken his passion project of helping others and funding “world improvement projects” so seriously that it had dried up his bank account. Around this time, Joseph began to experience health issues. The idea struck him that he could at last retire to enjoy the remainder of his life and allow for his son to continue his passion project with the proper resources. After all, Steven was always throwing ideas his way. Though reluctant at first, Steven accepted. Though his father’s health improved, Joseph enjoys the retired life. Meanwhile, Steven found himself overwhelmed with how to turn the family company into a place that can better the world without further worsening it at the same time.
