I went back and listened to the Rome Devens HOH to see exactly what was said (the one significant game convo I didn't watch last night):
devens: did you throw it? rome: yeah. devens: i thought you did
immediately offers devens to join his alliance, names the alliance (four seasons) and all four members (drew, melody, lyric, jason) offers numbers "if you're willing to keep those other three safe" says he drew and devens are cool but then he would have "two woman votes too"
devens pivots "can we talk about melody for a second?" brings up the issue of her switching off being his partner in the hoh comp, and bringing up his name the day before.
rome: i told drew melody is very expendable to us. I wouldn't hate seeing melody on the block
devens: what's the deal with lyric? , says she wasn't giving him anything game related. rome says she thought he was aligned with haley who has lyric on her hit-list. Devens says he's looking for people he has a reason to put up
rome: if you put melody and lyric on the block you attack that trio of girls and you put a hitlist on yourself. with melody, i don't give a fuck if she's on the block. i do care if lyric's on the block, not only for personal game, she's my in with all the girls.
devens asks who he wouldn't want to see up. rome says the people he's closest with would be devens, lyric, drew, jason, lala. devens says "that takes away a lot of options, because unfortunately your people are the ones who haven't spoken game with me" rome blames haley again. devens says this is the problem with them "playing secretly together" rome suggests he take some from both sides but somehow don't break trust on either side.
rome offers that devens can put him on the block, but if it comes down to a vote he'd probably go home. devens says he doesn't want to do that and hurt trust. rome asks where he stands with barrett, dee, yash, and floaters who "haven't played the game" pushes yash hard.
devens pivots again, "i was hoping you were a little less connected to some of these people" to make it easier
rome OFFERS OF HIS OWN ACCORD "if I boil it down even tighter for you, if I had to, it would be keeping me, lyric, and jason. if me lyric and jason avoided the block.." devens: "you would not consider anything im doing breaking anything we have?" rome: "nope"
devens: I think I can do that. but if i do it would probably mean some of those other people hit the block. rome: what you gotta do is what you gotta do, that's what you gotta do
devens said he would be targeting the person rome finds expendable (melody). rome says that's fine. rome: if you leave me lyric and jason out of the fold, you're fine with me.
rome reconfirms they'd still be aligned and he wouldn't go after devens for putting up anyone else on his side.
Rome then says his number one target is chuk not haley and always has been cause haley flirts with him. chuk doesn't clean and demands food from angela. and he's against people?
devens confirms again as long as he only protects those three, rome would reciprocate and protect people for him down the line. they wrap up
tl;dr within seconds named a whole alliance, said he "didn't gaf" if melody went up, named 5 people he's closest with, including lala. with very little pushback, offered to go on the block, threw out dee, barrett and yash to go up, pushed yash hard, then VOLUNTARILY shortened his list to himself, lyric, and jason. reaffirmed multiple times his game relationship would be intact with devens if anyone but those three went up. named his target as chuk and threw out haley's name multiple times in the conversation as well.
