~Admin Sam
hey are you accepting?
We're definitely open to applications :) ~Admin Sam
eating the pet is in the past too for clarification! i wouldn't let him to that here :P. butit's not cannibalism... what if the pet was a goldfish?
No eating pets, past, present or future, I'm afraid. ~ Admin Sam
it is a really important part of backstory (he ate a friend and then his boyfriend left him for it, awks). what viable options could i replace it with? ie, if he'd eaten his pet dog, would that be okay? (sorry i realize how fucking weird this oc looks. omfg. he was actually created for a university rp originally, which probs makes him weirder..)
Yeah, that’s more than awks... We wouldn’t allow eating anyone’s pets either. If you want a character that’s flawed or has a habit that people wouldn’t look favourably on, there are loads to choose from. He could have violent tendencies, be a serial cheater, or have a drug problem. Pretty much anything but cannibalism, to be honest. If you’re passionate about playing a cannibal, might I suggest a Hannibal RPG or something similar? ~Admin Sam
oh, no! i didn't mean like, a plotline. i just meant in the past maybe? you do find weird shit online with cannibal communities lol. i wouldn't bring cannibalism plots into this rpg, just backstory?? sorry for all the asks :(
I’m afraid it’s still going to have to be a no, sorry.
~Admin Sam
alright :) what if i didn't have any active cannibalism? he's trying to get over it, has been arrested, or something
I would have to say no to that. Seriously, it’s a flat out no - this isn’t the type of RPG for that storyline.
-Admin Amourette
i have an oc idea but he's been a character of mine for a while and he's a bit dark :/ is cannibalism permitted on campus? (if not, are cannibals?)
I’d say that’s more than a bit dark! You can submit him, but I think we’d ban the cannibalism - this RPG really isn’t the place for that storyline. If you desperately want to do it, I’d suggest another RPG.

Professor Jonathan McIntyre ✗ 38 ✗ Straight ✗ Male ✗ PhD Film Studies ✗ Idris Elba
"Of course education's important. I wouldn't be where I am without it. But you've got to have fun too."
Although he was popular due to his reputation as the class clown, Jonathan never applied himself much at school. He spent most of his time there playing harmless but hilarious pranks on his teachers and classmates. At 17 he left school to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian, without much success. At the age of 23, with a failed career and a failed marriage already under his belt, he decided it was time to go back to school. He studied for his A-Levels at evening classes and achieved all As. Wanting to see what he'd missed out on, he took the advice of his friends and went to university in Bristol to study film as a mature student.
Jonathan never lost his sense of humour, which helped him make friends with the younger students. He was a hit in the local clubs, where people found his terrible dancing endearing and cute. Having spent several years feeling unappreciated in his job and unappreciated by the ex-wife he married too young, he enjoyed his newfound popularity, especially among Bristol's female students. He earned himself a reputation as a ladies man, and his love life was the subject of a great deal of gossip.
After qualifying as a lecturer, he moved to London to teach at Holborn, where he is considered a bit of a character due to his eccentric nature and cheerful disposition. It was the latter that helped his shy young student Edith Stafford come out of her shell, and the two have become very close. The rumours that they are having an affair are not unfounded.

“I am an inexhaustible source of awkwardness.”
Edith was always a quiet girl, preferring her own company to that of others. Her love of film was kindled by her father, who worked for a Hollywood production company and spent half of his time in Birmingham with his family and half in LA. She would always long for their weekends together when they would watch classic movies together. Her favourite genre was murder mystery, and for a while she wanted to be a detective, but decided at the age of eleven that she would study film, with the hope of following in her father’s footsteps.
Her father was her role model, until he one day announced he was moving to LA permanently, breaking Edith’s heart - unbeknown to her, he was having an affair with the director’s assistant on one of his movies. When Edith’s mother finally told her the truth about her father, she was devastated. Having spent the first twelve years of her life being a daddy’s girl, she lost all respect for him. The next few years were hard, with Edith’s mother having to work two jobs to support them (even then they struggled to get by financially).
As a teenager, she was reluctant to trust people and had very few close friendships, but worked hard at school and played the guitar in her spare time, although she was never very good. She studied English, Film and Media Studies and A-Level and achieved A*AA, going on to study film at Birmingham University. She has come to Holborn to do her MA in Film Studies as she fancied a change of scene. She is still incredibly socially awkward, but has become very close to Professor McIntyre, and the rumours they are having an affair are not unfounded.

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is wasted.”
The loss of one of her parents – that she’s always blamed herself for – when she was young caused Nyx trouble from the get-go. Though she still had two, the fact that she felt responsible for her sibling never being able to meet their parent weighs on her, despite the fact that the only one who blamed her for it was herself. By the time she was a teenager, she was already seeing a counsellor for a range of illnesses – clinical depression, severe anxiety, agoraphobia, avoidant personality disorder, and possible but undiagnosed dependent personality disorder and borderline personality disorder (or unspecified anger issues). While it took her a long time to get diagnoses for anything at all, depression and anxiety being the easiest, the therapy never really seemed to help in more than short term timeframes. She is also autistic, although this wasn’t diagnosed by anyone but her parents, who similarly were. Her remaining parents were supportive, and she loves her sister, at least. However, she’s always found it hard to make friends, let alone have relationships, due to not trusting herself nor others – she views herself almost as a kind of ‘hulk’, always able to hurt people if pushed over the edge. Because of her self imposed isolation – something not recommended, but unable to break out of – and her depression putting a damper on everything, she has little interests that she lets herself have, the exceptions being her namesake, a Greek goddess due to one of her parents; caring for people or animals; and her sister. Due to her crippling shyness, she’s going to university now because her sister also is – someone who she’s protective over, and already knows, on top of needing a degree one day. She chose her course with the hope of – if she’s ever well enough to get a job – being able to give something back to the world by helping to create and preserve habitats for animals. Extinction and death which could be prevented upsets her to the point of tears even on good days. Despite being nervous all the time, she cares about everyone – more through years of her illnesses making her feel like a monster and fighting back against this by trying to prove herself wrong – and is always willing to help people if she’s able to. She also has a soft spot for animals, though she doesn’t trust herself much around anything she could hurt by accident. In addition, she has some quirks; a more than slightly crooked smile, when she manages, and a shakiness in her hands and feet that’s always been there. She’s strangely twitchy in the physical sense, too – again, in her hands and feet, and face, mostly. Played by Marian
Anna Amell ✗ 19 ✗ Bisexual ✗ Female/fluid ✗ French + Animal Care ✗ Shay Mitchell
“I like to sin. And smell like Beyonce.”
Anna lived a restricted life growing up, especially after the death of her parents when she was eight. She was sent to live with her last remaining family – other than a disowned cousin whom she’d never spoken with – due to having nowhere else to go, and whilst she was perfectly safe there, their parenting skills left something to be desired for a young child. Anna rarely left the house, studying her school subjects or religion instead. On the rare occasions she was allowed out, it was to church. The forcing of faith onto her left her reeling, somewhat, considering her questioning her sexuality and beliefs more and more at that time – and more inner turmoil was created when she began seeing a therapist for anxiety and came to the conclusion she may have histrionic personality disorder. She was sent to a catholic boarding school – which provided an escape from a home she viewed largely as a prison sometimes. It was equally as bad, in some ways – however, her natural rebellious tendencies flourished there, especially with the other students being equally as trapped in some cases. Sneaking out between scheduled visits to the village shops was common – especially to the woods near their school, or occasionally taking trains to beaches to be outside, something she enjoys. She excelled there regardless, though often through cheating on homework or timed tests due to a lack of motivation or want to do them. Her exams, however, saw her not leaving the library for days at a time sometimes other than to eat, and she passed with nothing below a B in her GCSEs and A*AB in her A-Levels. (She took French, Biology, and Classics – the first because of a friend she’d made in a transfer student, and having a fondness for the language; the second because she knew she wanted to do something related to veterinary science at degree level; and the third because the stories fascinated her.) Anna had always had a fondness for animals – made more intense by how rarely she got to see them, and was always a naturally caring person anyway. That, along with her desire to travel after the restrictions imposed on her, caused her to choose her degree courses. Naturally, nothing would go that smoothly – with the majority of her schooling over, and her to move out of home soon for university, she finally came out to her relatives. As they were on the edge already though due to her therapy sessions, though, thinking of most mental illnesses as someone being either ‘lazy,’ or ‘dangerous,’ this didn’t go as planned, leading to her being ‘disowned’ for lack of a better word, as her cousin was. Only a month later, they died. She had been cut out of the wills by that point, though, so nothing came of inheritance. However, her admittance to Holborn was the one shining light in all of this, even if she didn’t know how she’d pay off her tuition fees. As soon as she moved to London, she got a part time job out of necessity, and is currently trying to read up on law to see if there’s a chance for her to inherit the money despite the wills. On the surface, she appears to be neutral, or friendly, to most people. However, HPD combined with her lack of social experience make for some interesting combinations, and she tends to keep her distance. Once someone manages to get her to open up, however, she tends to be overzealous about proving herself to be ‘fun’. Her main goal is to make people like her, and have friends, though getting out of the country and being able to do what she wants for once is a large ambition in itself. Played by Marian
adminning is my passion, are you looking for more mods
Not at the moment, but we’ll let you know if we are! ~Admin Sam
Hey there! I just send in an app for Margo Fletcher and was wondering if you could send me what I wrote for her bio?
I’m afraid we haven’t received an application with that name. Would you be able to send it again please? ~Admin Sam
Uh, person who submitted an OC here again, I'm not sure what you want me to do - I'm at school for a club most of the night so I can't log into tumblr - and I don't know if you mean me ('person who submitted the OC' is a bit vague, hah). I submitted Anna Amell, is that right? What was the issue? I know I ticked both woman and NB, but you can untick woman if you have to, if that's the problem. Otherwise can you tell me what I need to change so we can discuss?
Yes, I didn’t mean to be vague it’s just that your application was the only one we’ve received recently. You didn’t need to message us twice, we got your first message but Amourette and I work as a team and we always consult with each other, hence the delay in answering. We’d be happy to have Anna, we just feel her bio needs to be a bit more developed. I know her backstory, but I don’t feel like I know her as a person. What’s her personality, hobbies and interests? Why did she choose the courses she’s studying? Message us off anon please! ~Admin Sam
Professor Carl Fields ✗ 37 ✗ Asexual ✗ Male ✗ Chemistry PhD ✗ Benedict Cumberbatch
“I never wish to offend, but I am so foolishly shy, that I often seem negligent, when I am only kept back by my natural awkwardness.“
Carl always had trouble making friends at school, where people often mistook his crippling shyness for aloofness. It didn’t help that he had to move from a private boys’ school to a comprehensive when his father lost his job and could no longer afford the school fees. His posh accent and withdrawn nature meant he acquired a reputation as a snob, and was often teased by his peers.
Carl made up for his lack of social skills with his academic ability. He studied Maths, Chemistry and Physics at A-Level, and struck up friendly relationships with his teachers, who gave him the encouragement he never had from his somewhat distant parents. He achieved all As and studied Chemistry at Oxford, where he met people who shared his passion for science and found himself inexplicably popular.
After finishing his PhD, Carl decided to qualify as a lecturer. He taught at Oxford for a while, but in recent years he moved to London to become a professor at Holborn. A few years after moving to London, however, he was hit by a car whilst cycling to work. He broke both his legs, and it was only after months of physical therapy that he was able to walk again. Even then, he couldn't walk far without pain, and still uses a wheelchair to get around. Following the accident, he has developed agoraphobia and rarely leaves the house, although he is currently seeing a counsellor to treat this.
