okay a quick rundown of my finale thoughts:

us getting to see sally still 🥰 percy being like 'black jack what up' i loveeee them talking and addressing how the minotaur was DEEPLY traumatic for percy but also love this once again reenforcing the fact that during the final battle it makes complete sense that sally grabs a shot gun and fights. *also shout out to paul for jumping in too without hesitating even when he can't see things* not poseidon TAKING CUSTODY BACK FROM SALLY i choose to believe that sally gets regular iris messages from tyson now because that's her son damnit

Sally spends the year getting her GED, she does not meet Paul until the fall/winter of book 3/s3. Even at that point Sally takes it slowly seeing as how she is only recently out of an abusive marriage and also a Mother with a son in fairly frequent crisis.

The scene with Paul's car implies that Sally is already close enough to him that she has taken him to the cabin for the summer as a getaway while Percy doesn't even know who he is. Sally isn't a teenager anymore, she's not fast paced and reckless with romance. The cabin is also a firm boundary for her. That is a place for her and Percy only, it was a safe place for them during their time with Gabe and it's important to her that Percy continues to have that safe space. One where he can feel connected to Poseidon by who he is to their family as a person and not the God like his cabin at camp.

the after episode clip with toby saying he'd send child support absolutely sent me. making it canon now that poseidon does in fact send sally child support. just to give other demigods another reason to not fuck with percy and his great family dynamics.

absolute madness that in an episode so present with the fact that all these kids are being abandoned by their parents, we have two seconds late in the trailed poseidon popping up again and being like hello my beloved son. the second he was outed as his kid poseidon really went and i will now be present and nothing can stop me

honestly i feel so bad for luke though the show is doing a really great job giving us more insight into what it was like for him and not trying to downplay how much he cares for thalia.

also loved the use of the hat in this episode and i am stressed because i think they left it behind

ngl genuinely thought ali was going to get like consumed by kronos or something for a second there. the use of the card game helped with being like these are straight up just some kids who are in pain and being groomed and twisted
