I'd hate to see what Stormy is like on catnip...
What kind of question is that? Of course!
Great! I can't wait for her to be old enough to handle kitty treats.

Whaaat? I thought it was the other way around!
We should get Stormy another toy to play with. Want to take her to PetSmart when we're both home from work?

Imogen chuckled at Jake’s reply, shaking her head slightly. “Or we could just become crazy cat collecting people” she pointed out with a grin. “I mean, if things hadn’t worked out with you, that’s probably the way I’d have gone anyway” she teased, before turning back to the kitten in her arms and petting it gently, all but melting with how cute it was.
"Honestly? I feel like I’m drifting out in the sea of cuteness without a life jacket" she admitted with a chuckle, biting her lip in consideration. She wanted to adopt all of them, but she knew that as much as she wanted them all, she and Jake only had the space, time, and money to be able to handle one. Looking at them all, her eyes came to a rest on one in particular- a black kitten with a white belly and paws, as well as some white markings around its mouth. The kitten was off a little ways from the rest, staring at the two of them without sound or movement.
Jake followed Imogen's eyes to the black and white kitten. He slowly leaned in to whisper against her ear, "I think that one's getting ready to pounce. It's got the whole 'silent hunter' thing going on."
The kitten was adorable and Jake could definitely see the little one being right at home in their apartment. He wasn't sure how playful the kitten would be, though, since currently it had been so still and silent. He'd joked about it getting ready to pounce but he wasn't sure if the truth was just that the kitten didn't have much energy. Which, he wasn't sure if that'd be a good fit for them.
Jake wanted to check the kitten out, though. So, he held his hand out a bit in front of him and kept still. He'd heard before that letting a cat sniff you first if it's nervous is the best way to get it to feel more comfortable interacting with you. He stayed in his position, waiting to see what the kitten would decide to do.

Really? I’d love to see what Stormy is like on catnip! High energy is the best.

Imogen looked over at Freddie when Jake asked him about taking the kittens out of their cage, smile brightening when he said that they could do just that once a partition was set up. She went right back to fawning over the kittens when he walked away, not tearing her eyes away from them for even a second until the partition was all set up.
She sat down on the floor with Jake, holding out her hands to carefully hold one of the kittens when Freddie handed one to her, a small gasp escaping her lips. The kitten was just so tiny and precious, there was no way anything else in the whole world could possibly be cuter.
Still, she forced herself not to claim to have made a decision just yet, knowing that each one would probably seem like the cutest one while it was in her arms.
Sure enough, the next one seemed to be the cutest thing she’d ever seen when it was its turn, and the one after that as well. “Picking one is going to be harder than I thought” she admitted to Jake, carefully petting the one she was playing with on the top of its head with two fingers as she spoke.
Jake nodded in response to Immy, picking up a kitten himself and looking into its little face. "This is how crazy cat collecting people happen. They come in looking for one and then all these tiny faces get to them. We've gotta be strong." He said, placing a small kiss to the top of the head of the kitten they currently were playing with.
"Have any of them stood out to you yet? Or are we both drowning in the sea of cuteness?" Jake asked her once they'd played with all of the kittens. He honestly couldn't choose. All of the cats were adorable in their own way and he was ready to just give in and adopt them all. Sanity be damned.

She's a pretty bounce-off-the-walls kind of kitten without it. I'm in awe of her energy.
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
Cool. What’s she like to work with?
She's a hard worker. She's been great so far.
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
That’s awesome! Has she started yet?
Yup! Frank wanted her to start right away.
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
Well, now you have! That’s great!
It is! Frank's excited. It means he can be open longer now that he's got an extra person on deck.

Wow, sounds like a successful auction! I might have to stop in sometime to check the painting out… and a certain employee.
Oh! Speaking of employees, did I tell you Frank decided to give Syd the job?
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
Sounds like fun! Did he get anything cool?
A few things! He was telling me stories about some of the items and he got this painting that's really neat. I think he's actually considering keeping it to hang in the shop, rather than sell it.

Right? He was such an adorable old man. He didn’t really speak the best English and he had a super thick Italian accent. He actually said I reminded him of his granddaughter when she was a little girl, so I’m pretty sure he was like, reallyyyy old. But yeah, I’m definitely a pretty big fan of my job. What about you? How was your day?
Mine was good! It was a bit slow at the antique shop but I spent most of it chatting with Frank and helping him add some of the stuff he got at the auction to the inventory.
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
It was fun! I mean like I was super tired and stuff, but all that singing and dancing definitely kept me awake! The morning crowd is super fun too; it’s mostly old people and they’re adoooorable! One guy told me I reminded him of his granddaughter, and then when he left he gave me a like, almost 50% tip.
That's so sweet of him! It sounds like you had a really good day. And that this job suits you perfectly.
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
I had a feeling you might be.
Well, what are we waiting for?
So, wanna tell me about your day? Before you slept it away, of course.
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
Cuddling. Lots and lots of cuddling.
I'm a huge fan of that condition.
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
Hmm… On one condition.
What's the condition?
Early morning shifts are terribleeeee
I slept my afternoon away, and I’m still tired!
Hmmm, I'd suggest resting for the rest of the day, then, but not sleeping. Maybe we can marathon the last season of Doctor Who?
