A passive Nightmare AU concept I use in RPs with the wife.

Basically:

What if instead of hiding their pains from each other, the twins honestly expressed their feelings and their pains to each other. I felt that might lead to them avoiding the main conflict and thus…killing the AU. But not all at once. Since conflict is the source of a story.

I ended up wondering how an AU dying slowly would be like. I imagined it would be kind of like color fading out of plaster, and it all drying out and crumbling away. Peeling apart like old wallpaper.

So Passive and a single apple are the only things left with color, and everything else has stopped moving and faded, including Dream. There’s nothing to do, and nothing but this one apple he saved before the tree faded completely.

He takes a bite, morbid curiosity that might as well be stated since nothing matters anymore right? And with his desire to be anywhere else, he accidentally sends himself to a new AU as his first action after gaining any power. He’s a bit lost after that. Wandering around, avoiding people mostly (trust issues) but curious about other places.

Calling the idea One Black Apple or OBA for my own convenience. :P

A painting of HG Dream inspired from an rp where Nightmare came across him and kind of stole him from the Gallery. Only a few AU hoppers could manage that lol, but it was a fun time.

I don’t think it counts as implied Dreammare since HG Dream is nothing like the real Dream and Nightmare wasn’t thinking of him as his brother either, but I’ll tag it just in case for anyone sensitive to the concept to be safe.

In the Ib!tale/ The Hungry Gallery; an artist met Dream one time, then begged to use him as inspiration. Leading to this painting, simply titled ‘Dream’. The painted being that resulted is benign but kind of depressed to exist, and refuses to engage with the gallery’s plans to steal souls. He just floats above his water and sleeps most of the time. Called Dream but isn’t technically, as he is without Dream’s powers or memories. The resemblance is surface level.

Minor character in the story at most, but fun to use in weird RPs with the wife.

So 4 months ago at 3am I woke up completely possessed with this guy. I actually had to sit up and scribble the sketch for the head-shot right then. He kind of popped into my head fully formed. I was possessed by the need to draw him a bunch lol.
