Her giggle made him smile, but he immediately pretended to frown. “Oh! So now I’m a brute. The amount of disrespect in here.” He shook his head in mock indignation before catching the ball. Liam saw her take off her shoes, before getting into position. His eyebrows shot up toward his hairline as Holly stood on the tips of her toes before doing a move that made his jaw drop slightly. She moved gracefully and with ease, and the only word that came to mind as he witnessed it was wow. Also hot damn because she was beautiful before but in that split second she looked breathtaking. “I can’t do that.” He said simply, accepting defeat with a smile on his face. “That was, like, freakin’ cool though.”
With a bright smile on her face, Holly went back to put her shoes on again. “It’s probably the hardest thing about being a ballerina. Everyone thinks it’s just sissy moves and stuff but it takes a lot of work. I can go just as hard as any athlete but I have to make it look graceful and then land on my tip toes. You need to have full control over your body. I took gymnastics for a couple years when I was younger so I could look good dancing. Maybe you’ll learn one day,” she said with a giggle.
Knowing Liam listened and he had been willing to let her not answer his question, there was something in Holly that wanted to trust him. Maybe just a little bit. It didn’t have to be the whole story. As she was tying her shoes, eyes on the laces, she spoke softly. “I went to a party earlier this year. A college, frat thing. There was a lot of drinking and.. I was drugged.” That was about as far as she felt comfortable going. She stood up then and shrugged. “I haven’t really cared much about being the head bitch since then.”
