I am a 27 year old mama that is insanely interested in James Holmes, the case, and anything surrounding the two. (As well as interests in serial killers, mass murderers, reasons people snap, and the like.) I (used to) post a combination of factual information and conspiracies that aren't outrageously far fetched - as well as the occasional shop. After three long years of consistently following this case, we're all thrilled with the outcome of life without parole. People have clearly misunderstood and continue to misunderstand the meaning of this group of people. We're advocating for a severely mentally ill man. For most of us, it's not a matter of attraction or lust.. Not that anything we've said has mattered so far.. Oh and that whole media disclaimer thing: Hey media/press/assholes, I don't give you permission to use/exploit any of my shit like you've done/continue to do to a lot of people. It's very hard to believe that the Holmies in general, not you specifically, don't have any attraction or "lust" toward the mass killer when countless blogs are piled thick with pictures and GIFs about how "adorable" Holmes is. I think it's ignorant at best and irresponsible at worst to deny this element of the community. With respect, it's probably something worth being honest about. All the best.

I don't disagree, but I also don't see why you're labeling it irresponsible or ignorant for people not to come forward about it or to not place a blanket label on the group when in all actuality, most of the ones posting that kind of stuff HAVE said something to the effect of what you're talking about. The commonality in this group is/was the interest in the case/lead up to the crime. That's at the core. Beyond that, what other people post, do, feel, or say is up to them. But it's definitely not a true generalization because there are & were many people here for the facts, not the gifs, when all of this started 4 and a half years ago. But thanks for your discretion as far as not immediately shaming and blaming. The Holmies used to be HUGE and dealt with a lot of bullshit from a lot of people, media included, so I appreciate the respect in stating your opinion.

No you don’t understand okay my husband is in the Navy and he told me stories about doing shit like this. They would just make up their own shit, as long as they were yelling SOMETHING then they didn’t get in trouble, and even the drill instructors would make shit up like this. And they got WEIRD.
