No one ever talks about it, but I adore how once Dunk is seated at table in the Baratheon tent, Raymun actually serves him as a Squire does a Knight. Dunk, of course, wouldn't expect it, though it's the natural order of things in their world.
Gosh, I just love that sweet Apple Boy, always so kind to our Dunk, really his truest friend. No agenda, just 'are you hungry?'
and 'come have some cider' and 'here, I bought back your horse because you're the best fellow I've ever known and you deserve some kindness after everything you've had to endure'. Oh, and 'hey, by the way, I'll back you up against that evil Targ princeling who's beating up women AND I'd be happy to hazard my life to defend yours and your honor, Dunk'. With no hesitation whatsoever.
And of course there's, 'Prince Maekar can bloody well stuff it, you goons are gonna have to go through ME to get to my bestie'.
Seriously, why aren't we talking about and loving on Ser Raymun Fossoway more, the only real winner at Ashford Meadow and Ser Duncan's unlooked for best friend, who recognized the diamond in the rough that Dunk always was and treated him accordingly?

Look, what have you got to kick about? You've got everything that matters. You've got the name, the position, the money. - My husband's love happens to mean more to me than those things. Oh, can the sob stuff, Mrs. Haines! You noble wives and mothers bore the brains out of me. I'll bet you bore your husband's too.

And so, the woman dies. The woman dies so the man can be sad about it. The woman dies so the man can suffer. She dies to give him a destiny. Dies so he can fall to the dark side. Dies so he can lament her death. As he stands there, brimming with grief, brimming with life, the woman lies there in silence. The woman dies for him. - The Woman Dies by Aoko Matsuda
I am at last myself… with no ambition greater than to walk where I please and to breathe the open air. To die unremarked and unnoticed… and be free. You speak as if from a distant dream.
