oh no! // marina and the diamonds
I look young But inside I am old And filled with the deaths Of other people.
Terry Moore (via alittlecurse)
is heâŠâŠ Yknow.. *makes the motion of swinging a huge sword*
The light of the sun was especially soft this spring morning, leaving the morning air not particularly cold, but crisp. It would no doubt grow to be fairly pleasant later on in the day, something that the angel (surprisingly) looked forward to.Â
She was - even with her affinity for the element of fire and all things light and burning - definitely a child of winter. Her cold countenance, her frosty demeanor, her icy gaze; all trademark characteristics of the judicator, all that was known and expected of her. This she would not, could not deny. It was her nature, and had been her nature for thousands of years. And in her mind, such a nature was necessary if she were to perform her duties as efficiently as she possibly could.Â
Hope, compassion, mercy; were all words she had quickly learned to forget.
But⊠as she stood basking in the gentleness of that morning sun, she could almost feel it all begin to melt away. Those years she had spent void of such warmth seemed to fade in the light. This was a light that was far more ancient and knowing than herself, and yet had maintained its warmth through countless eons.Â
She felt⊠peaceful. Something indeed was rekindled in that moment, but it was nothing so fierce and tumultuous as a wildfire. No, Kayle would never allow herself to ever become something so uncontrollable. It was more akin to the lighting of a candle. As if there was still some small hope left somewhere in the world. As if she could still find it in herself to know compassion. To know mercy.Â
It was not often that Kayle found herself such a moment of quiet introspection.
just in case you havent heard it today:
you are fearedÂ
your six wings, gleaming body, and multiple pairs of torch eyes are beautiful
your thunder voice will get better and increasingly more vehement with time
you are valid

â The Ionian mumbled, sniffing softly in a failed attempt to stay the bleeding to his nose. Though his lenses remained trailed on the being before him, his eyes were firmly shut behind hextech, âIt is a matter of, how you say⊠logistics? Not that I know what it is you are, or how many fights you have fought⊠I just cannot understand how you can fight anyone with a blade that sports a tip wider than its general edge.â
âWhy do you even have such a thing? Why did you choose it, and justâŠâ The man pet the back of his hand to his nose, â⊠what are you?â
Her gaze flitted between her sword and the much smaller stranger before her, and she was silent for a good moment before finally responding to him.
âAs you have pointed out, this is certainly no ordinary blade, mortal. It also serves as a focus.â Kayleâs hand almost immediately reached for her hilt, though she stopped herself from taking actual hold of it. This one was already uneasy at her presence, no need to make that unease worse.Â
Instead, she continued, âI use this blade and the gems embedded in it to better channel the celestial flame within me. It was given to me the day I was made a Judge of Heaven. And that is a title rarely given.â
holyfervor liked your sass call:
âYou would think a being of exceptional aura and strength beyond my comprehension⊠would choose something more effective than a simple double edged, straight blade with its tip hammered into a diamond. How do you strike anything? How do you stab anything? Utterly bizarre, and impractical.â
Yi said as he tried to play it cool while bleeding profusely from the nose against immortal auras.
Even if he was unable to read her aura, Kayleâs gilded armor reflecting so brilliantly in the sunlight would surely be enough to blind him. If one were to squint against the light, it may even appear to be glowing; a testament to the refined divinity hammered into the metal itself.Â
Through her helmet, she regarded the Ionian man rather curiously, made plainly evident by the slight tilt of her head.
âWhy would I require anything more complex than this blade to be effective? It has proven its effectiveness to me in countless battles. No other weapon is really necessary.â
